As a consumer I do try to shop locally and support the local economy, I go to a midtown branch and the employees all know me by name. They are always friendly and approachable. It's convienient because the ATM is in the neighborhood (although they can't be found on every street corner----at times a major inconvienience) and they close at 4p.m. which totally conflicts with my schedule. SO, if I have to go into the bank it requires me to plan around it. My major frustration with Golden 1 is like the above review said. TRANSACTIONS TAKE UP TO A WEEK TO CLEAR!! I recently had to pay $111.00 for in overdraft fees for being overdrawn $9.00 in my checking account. I was so frustrated because I had checked my atm available balance, checked my on-line banking and even double checked my ATM available balance before using my checking card. (Something was telling me, it keeps showing up that I have more money than I should.) The positive of Bank of America was that the one time I went into overdraft in the multiple years I banked with them was that they waived the fees because it was a first time occurence. It was carelessness on my part but I appreciated thier favor. SO, bottom line when this happened I went into my usual branch and asked if there was anyway they would be willing to waive the fees which they would not and were pretty cut throat about it....not the usual friendly tellers that day. They said because it wasn't a bank error I was out of luck and would have to pay. They handed me a checking book and said keep better track next time. So lesson learned, do not rely on thier statements!!! Keep your records. Now, I make it a habit to simply deal with cash and leave the debit card at home. Budget how mch money I will need for the week, withdraw it and not deal with the drama. Tends to work out for the best and helps me to save money. Call me old fashioned but seeing cash (or lack of) in hand really helps me to yeild from splurges or impulse buys. All in all, I am still a customer but would strongly advise you to keep accurate records of your account to cover your own behind!

The male teller was the only one that seemed to be concerned. It all stemmed from the fact that my husband has asked and contacted Bank of America twice to get his Bank of America ATM card replacement. It never comes so now we can't even get any money out and these people didn't even try to solve the problem. In fact, as we fumed out of the bank, we were literally being laughed at. I have seen her taking care of elderly customers with so much kindness; she approaches people and makes sure that they are taken care of. Today, I came in for an appointment. I waited in line and she came up to me and asked for the purpose of my business. She took me to the person who could assist me, introduced me and even called and waved goodbye when I left. I will say that I have been a longtime customer with "Chase Bank" ever since they took over the…read moreexisting Washington Mutual locations dating back to 2008-09. And over the years, many Chase locations have closed and downsized throughout the greater Sacramento area. Furthermore, they have eliminated all of their ATM's at Target stores, gas stations, and convenience stores. The Chase Bank that I am focusing on is located directly on Madison Ave (in between Date Ave/College Oak Dr) that is just a couple blocks east of Interstate 80 in Sacramento. I also wanted to add that this location is the only one within a 5-mile radius; the closest other branches are east in Citrus Heights (Sunrise Blvd/Macy Plaza Dr), Antelope (Elverta Rd/Walerga Rd), and Arden-Arcade (Watt Ave/El Camino Ave). That's a very sporadic geographical area but nonetheless, it aligns itself with other major banks (Bank of America, Wells Fargo, etc). The parking lot is quite spacious since this branch does not share itself with any other businesses. I also wanted to add that the exterior has a drive-thru with two ATM's as well as a walk-up ATM (both open 24 hours). I would advise not using the walk-up ATM after dark since this area can be quite sketch at nighttime. Their hours of operation are standard with other branches as they are open weekdays from 9am-5pm, Saturdays from 9am-2pm, and closed on Sundays. More often than not, I have seen a security guard at the main entrance. The inside is actually very large and spacious with roughly 5-6 walk-up tellers. However, more often than not, you are lucky to get only two employees at any given time. I also wanted to add that there is one inside ATM (where you can withdraw $1s, $5s, $20s, and $100s) and several areas where you can meet with Chase financial advisors in setting up savings accounts, credit cards, mortgages, and other financial needs. The primary reason why I am giving the Madison Ave Chase Bank three stars are primarily the long wait times I have experienced. I try to do as much as possible on the Chase mobile app but there are times when I need to meet with live humans in doing physical transactions. Some have been very helpful but at other times is trying to pull teeth out of people. One unfortunate thing that happened was that I was the victim of identity theft where my Zelle account was compromised and money was electronically taken out of my bank. That took several staff members in fixing the matter (which did take a few weeks to solve). With the average service, decent location, and overall experience, I am giving the Madison "Chase Bank" an average three star rating.

Irina, the branch manager is extremely rude over the phone, she had such an attitude when I spoke with her, regarding a transaction and hung up on me! Prior to the phone call, I went in to withdrawal. Th transaction delayed after being asked a million questions. What are you doing with this money? (It's my money??) Not yours? I feel unsafe that you are leaving here with that much? What are you investing in. What do you do..question after question after question. Until I finally was authorized to take my money out of the institutionalized prison that holds my money! Never coming back- no thank-you. You would think they'd want business and clients- guess not.
