Do not leave things with space between them. Put valuables and things you don't want to move or have weight pressed into, toward the back. Pack tight and no room for topple error. DONT USE THIS Co!!! We used this company for our big move from California to Texas . When they picked up the trailer the driver Informed me they would use a fork lift and push all of our furniture back. I told him no because our stuff will break. I get to Texas we open the doors and start to unload and every this is broke From holes in my brand new leather couch, my new marble table is broke from the forklift and pressuring being applied, tvs broke, washer broke All from the forklift lift This is the worst company I will be hiring me an attorney as this is all their fault if I could give them zero stars I would! read more

U-Pack Moving - Movers Near Me - Bakersfield, California

U-pack is the way to go. I definitely recommend it. The trailer was clean and on time. The reason 4 star vs 5 star is miscommunication on arrival dates. I was told by Upack when I called that my trailer could be delivered on Monday, this was a holiday and I don't think they realized that when I called, so I set up my movers for Tuesday. They then told me when I checked again that the trailer likely wouldn't be able delivered until Tuesday due to the holiday. When I called the Friday my trailer was to arrive at their facility they told me that it would be there that night but that there dispatch would be closed and they couldn't 'officially' schedule my delivery until the trailer arrived. Since they were closed all weekend and on the Monday holiday that meant I couldn't schedule my delivery until Tuesday. This meant another call to the movers to change the date to Thursday. Luckily they were still available every time, but I could see this being a problem. One other bit of advice... Hire really good movers/packers and really pay attention. I thought my guys were pretty good, but towards the end I think they they started getting tired and weren't wrapping and strapping stuff like they did in the beginning. The movers will be the cheap part of this already so don't just find guys off the street that don't know what they are doing or you will have a lot of damaged stuff. read more

I had a great experience with UPack (especially now days with the horror stories of peoples shipments taking weeks/months to get to them through other companies) Every time I called with questions I was able to speak to a real person right away. Did not get any extra charges/prices was exactly as stated on the website quote. Trailer was dropped off on a Thursday afternoon in CA. Called on Friday when we were done loading and they showed up within the hour for pick up. I was able to track my shipment to OK and check when to schedule a delivery. When I checked on the following Thursday morning I was promoted to schedule my pick up but only days available would be Monday or Wednesday. I called and asked, they stated the schedules were already filled but they would do their best to get my squeezed in that day or Friday. My shipment was delivered later that afternoon. read more

I would like to leave negative stars. We reserved this service and the first trailer was supposed to be delivered between 4-8PM tonight. At 805 I called to find out where the truck is as we have been getting ready to load all day and have been waiting. The guy says he called and left a message and they have to wait until Monday because they have no equipment. BS! We reserved it, that means you make sure you have it. Nobody called. BS! Crappy ass company. What a big waste of our time. Now we have to hope to find movers in a week! Don't use this company. Don't even consider it. Couldn't call to cancel because they are not open until Monday even though the woman on the phone when I reserved it told me I could call 24/7. Thanks for nothing UPack. Usuck! read more

I researched A LOT before deciding upon U-Pack as my moving company. I read so many horror story reviews of people being charged more when their household arrived, people waiting months for their items to arrive and so on. I was incredibly nervous about entrusting my possessions to anyone at all, it's not like I can afford to replace the replaceable nor would the irreplaceable be able to be replaced. I also didn't want to spend $5-$7 thousand dollars for a moving company when almost all of my packing was already complete and I do not know how to drive a large truck (think U-Haul) or I would have gone that route. Instead, I went with U-Pack. The physical loading and unloading is exactly what we would have done with a truck we drove ourselves. With U-Pack we didn't have to drive the 1,000 mile trip in a large cumbersome truck- they did the driving! U-Pack's customer service was phenomenal, and I called quite a few times. The delivery and pickup drivers were friendly and helpful. The dispatch team, when I had to call for anything, was a little more business but very helpful all the same. My truck was delivered and picked-up on time (to load) then delivered and picked-up again (to unload) on time. I moved from a fairly quiet sun-filled street in a large CA city during February to a rainy quiet little almost country road in WA and the only issue I had with the move was the new neighbor who claimed the road we live on is "very busy"; pretty sure 10 cars/day isn't busy but to each their own:). My timing with pretty epic as the truck arrived on time to unload just before a snow storm which is, as I've been told by all local residents quite out of the norm for the area so we got to unload in that but I can't hold U-Pack responsible for the weather! If you are moving and can/want to the do the work yourself without the driving to save some money then I highly recommend U-Pack! read more

We were moving across country and got a couple of estimates from two moving companies and after seeing their outrageous quotes we decided to go with U-Pack. The U-Pack staff was great to work with. Answered all our questions. Trailer was delivered and picked up when they said it would. The trailer arrived at destination on a Friday so couldn't be delivered until Monday. No problem. They kept us informed and delivered as stated. I would definitely use them again and they saved us a ton of money which is important. read more

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THEIR FREIGHT HANDLING!!! I was to have a Freight item delivered to my home between 9am-1pm on August 7, 2013. I called ABF at 10am on August 7th and told them I would not be home; to bring the item back to the yard; and I would retrieve it on August 8th. Laura told me that I would be able to retrieve the item between 7-9am and I should ask for Mark. At 3:45pm on August 7, I receive a phone message that ABF is at my house and would like to know if I am close by??? Of course not-DUH! That's the reason I called and requested to pick up the item on August 8. I am able to call the driver back at 4:15; he explains that he is nearing Delano-I explain that he should have never attempted delivery. August 8-I travel to pick up my item. I pull to the back as instructed by Laura. I can see my item on the truck...it's beautiful...a new Weber Genesis EP330 Gas grill...the angels sing! I ask the gentleman sweeping if he is Mark; he is not, he is Jerry. Jerry tells me that Mark left for a "few" but should be returning. I ask him to just put my grill in the truck? He has to call Mark...Mark tells Jerry to tell me to wait. He will arrive back "soon." I'm touching the box, I can smell tonight's dinner!!! I wait in my truck...5 minutes, 10 minutes...another gentleman arrives! Could it be...Mark? No, it's Eddie. Eddie asks me why I am there-I point to my grill...she's alone on the dock. I need her! Eddie...gets in the forklift, grabs the grill...places it in the back of my truck! A true hero ladies and gentleman! Mark...never saw him, however, I had a few choice words for him as mentioned to Eddie! How many men does it take to load a grill in a truck? Apparently, only 1, but his name has to be Mark! Please promote Eddie to whatever job Mark is supposed to be doing-Eddie does not have his head "inside his rectum." Eddie is the reason this review gets 2 stars! read more
