Incredible joke. we picked up a moving truck. on the way home the whole truck shook in the front when using the brakes. we placed an order for roadside assistance. after 3 hours no one came. we said it was the front end. they out in a call for an oil pan. it 3 1/2 hours and no one has come from roadside assistanc. the manager at uhaul said it's the nature of all roadside assistance companies. JOKE is such an understatement. read more

Ordered an auto transporter a month ago at my Cortland NY dealer. Got a call today saying they don't have enough people to bring it to my local site, where I ordered it. Clearly no concept of customer service. They had a month to plan for this. read more

A U-Haul, in a university town, with only 2 employees on August 1. Obviously in terms of equipment, etc. it has everything you'd expect. But think very carefully about choosing this location if you have any time restrictions. read more

No one to ring you out, can't ring you out because no money in till, have to finish texting mom before helping you. Three times in the past six months. Boxes are inexpensive, which is great that U Haul doesn't gouge you. With staff who just don't care, you can't actually buy any of them even if you're waving dollar bills at them. read more

This location is chronically understaffed and it's nearly impossible to actually get them on the phone. If you go into the location you will likely be stuck waiting at least 10-15 minutes. Stored my things there in their brand new facility and when I came to get it there was water damage in my boxes and some of my stuff was rusted and destroyed. I would recommend find a different company or storage location. read more

There were oil spills in the back of the truck, the cab was clean - but the back was not swept out and clean. When I went to pick up the truck they told me that it was for a noon pickup time - when I ordered it for 7am. I work a 9am-5pm desk job and wasn't able to answer the ONE CALL that they tried to schedule the pick up time. They did not leave a message and told me that my mailbox was full - this is not the case, there are 2 messages in there. I did not receive any communications via email or text instead to try and clarify the pick up time, instead they defaulted the time to noon since they "couldn't get ahold of me". So, not only did they not confirm my pick up time - but then they attempted to place the blame on the customer...not a good business model. They also tried to say that I ordered a round trip rental instead of the one-way that I requested. This was easily fixed by the store manager but regardless, the woman who was helping me was not knowledgable about the systems and basic functions of the job. When I ordered the rental I also ordered 12 furniture pads. Needless to say, they were not included in the rental and when I tried to call the shop to let them know (so I wouldn't be charged for missing pads when I returned the rental) they weren't answering and the call went to the corporate help line. Which was all fine and good (I understand that people are busy - especially on a holiday weekend like the 4th), but I was told that they would give me a call within half an hour to discuss the mixup and they never did call me - ALL DAY. read more

The staff is rude, uninformed, and they seem to not communicate. I was charged extra when I picked up the rental because the representative didn't know how to adjust the pricing to reflect my reservation. She made a note on my receipt, signed it, and instructed me to show it to the employee at drop off. As I'm returning the equipment a few hours later, I'm greeted with an eye roll. I show the employee my receipt and he told me he wouldn't credit me back for the overcharge as I most likely wrote the note myself. On top of that, this idiot charged my card for two days! I told him that he made a mistake. I showed him my confirmation and told him to look at the date and time. He brushed me off and told me to call corporate because he already charged my card. Do not use U-HAUL on Teall Ave. There are a lot of options, this is not the one to go to. We rented a truck for a move, shortly after hitting the road we ran into mechanical problems requiring us to pull off and wait for U-Haul roadside assistance. We learned that one of the problems experienced was the vehicle being equipped with the wrong size equipment. 2 hours later we were finally able to get back to our project way behind schedule. When returning to the shop we expressed our dissatisfaction with our experience. The incredibly rude Assistant Manager was dismissive and repeatedly stated , "It was only 2 hours." You would think it would be a standard competency for someone in a management position at a MOVING store to understand the rigger of timing a moving project. So not only did we get a faulty product we had to deal with an incompetent and rude employee. Never again! read more

Book anything other than U Haul! I had a reservation booked weeks in advance and was called the night before I was to pick up the truck and told there were no trucks available. Made no attempt to find another truck or to modify dates/times to receive a truck. Moving help was booked through U Haul and prepaid. I was offered a $50.00 gift certificate as compensation. Did my reservation online for a 10' van, when they called to confirm all they had was a 15' van so they upgraded me at no charge. Staff was positive and helpful, the whole experience was super easy. No difficulties whatsoever. read more

Megan & The manager Phil are beyond great in customer service, time, understanding & common courtesy. I had made several different reservations online for truck rentals, storage rentals, & u boxes. I ended up coming in switching things, canceling reservations making new ones. As much of a pain I was NOT ONCE we're they rude, giving me grief nothing, but positivity and they exceeded my expectations in everything I needed while moving in all the past single digit & below weather. So impressed very grateful made Uhaul a way better experience and changed my past horrible experiences with Uhaul all together! read more
