It was a decent wait for a vehicle when I arrived to pick up the car. The car wasn't quite ready, as it still needed to be cleaned / was at the car wash, which they said was about a 5 minute walk. While I was waiting, a number of customers came in and most were upset that the car they requested was not available. It seemed like they were short on cars and staff. Staff were friendly and helpful though. When returning, they mentioned they didn't have their shuttle available so I ended up taking a Lyft. Not the end of the world, but would've been nice to have the shuttle service.

Decent Rental, But Limited Options and Staff Shortage…read more We recently rented a vehicle from the Enterprise Car Rental located in Mission Valley, just off Interstate 163 and near Chuze Fitness. Our reservation was scheduled for 10:30 AM, and although we arrived slightly late around 10:45, the staff were actively assisting other customers with both pick-ups and returns. Despite the busy environment, the check-out process was relatively smooth. We were initially given a white Jeep, but unfortunately, it wouldn't start using the push-button ignition. The staff were notified, and while the vehicle was a hybrid (gas + electric), the fact that it wouldn't start at all made it unusable for our trip. We were then offered a Toyota Highlander, which was slightly smaller in trunk space but manageable. Before leaving, we noted minor dents, dings, and a small crack on the driver's side of the windshield near the wiper. Staff assured us these damages were documented and that we wouldn't be held responsible. The benefit of unlimited mileage allowed us to take the vehicle out of state to Arizona, which was great. However, once in Arizona, the dash displayed a maintenance message: "Vehicle requires maintenance, please see dealer." While it didn't impact the vehicle's performance, it was a concern, especially while traveling long distances in desert heat of 116 degrees. After looking it up, it seemed to be a routine 7,000-mile service notice, likely indicating an oil change was due or minor engine service--not ideal because you just really never know under the hood of a vehicle what issues may arise. Returning the car was a bit frustrating. With only one staff member working, we waited nearly 20 minutes just to be assisted with the return. Thankfully, the woman who helped us was friendly, apologetic for the wait, and reassured us we wouldn't be charged for the extra time. Overall, the experience was just okay. The vehicle functioned well enough, but the lack of available options, the initial vehicle issue, the dash warning, and the understaffed check-in/out process left a lot to be desired. Parking is also a hassle, as the lot is shared with several other businesses including a gym and insurance office, making space very limited. If this is your only option, it might do in a pinch--but don't expect a large SUV selection or swift service. 3 stars.

Unfortunately, the car rental center is not inside the main terminal, so you do have to take a shuttle to the rental car area, which is about a 10-minute ride. When we landed, there was a long line, and it took us about 10-15 minutes to make the queue for the shuttle. Once we got to the rental car center, customer service was great. We had already checked in online and had our own insurance, so the process was pretty smooth. The customer service rep was really nice and even cracked some funny jokes. A few minutes later, we were in our car a white Mustang convertible in great shape and very clean. The only thing I wish they had done was give us a quick demo on how to close and lock the top, because we couldn't figure it out at first and had to watch a YouTube tutorial. Returning the vehicle was a breeze, and I got an email receipt within minutes. Overall, a smooth rental experience and a good choice for our San Diego trip!

That could result in a very expensive car rental but for all the right reasons. The vehicle performed very well and was in like new condition even with 31,000 miles on it. Upon returning the vehicle in San Diego Anthony C immediately acknowledged and engaged us positively with fantastic hospitality and he went out of his way to show he is invested as an employee delivering quality service and result. Going through as much traveling as my wife and I undertook across this great country from the east coast to spend a few days on the west coast and western US Anthony C left us feeling even more glad that we did this rental from Alamo through Costco which was our first time doing so. I've picked up from this location a few times, but this recent time, I will not be returning. Pros: -no line -easy to get to office Cons: -waited 15 min before someone showed up -your car here will almost always never have full gas -cars are always dirty -cars will have noticeable visual damage and/or glass damage -had engine issues on cars as well -QR code to get out of garage was a bit finnicky I've had worse options for sure, but this is definitely not the best place to grab a car. Maybe 1 out of the 5 or 6 times I've picked up here, the experience was 3-4 star at best. All others, 1 stars.

At the counter, we clearly and explicitly declined all optional insurance coverage, informing the agent that we were fully covered through our Mastercard Gold credit card. However: - Optional insurance products were not clearly explained. - Individual pricing and total additional cost were not disclosed. - We were asked to sign electronically on a tablet without being clearly shown which options remained selected. - No copy of the signed rental agreement was provided at pick-up or return. We later discovered that multiple insurance products had been added and charged. Under basic consumer protection principles, valid consent requires clear disclosure, transparent pricing, and an explicit opt-in. None of these conditions were met. We only received a copy of the rental agreement more than one month after vehicle return, after repeated requests. The document provided does not clearly reconcile with the invoice, making it extremely difficult to understand the charges. After reviewing other public feedback, it appears that similar complaints have been reported at this same location. This experience raises serious concerns regarding transparency and informed consent in the sale of optional insurance products. Customers should exercise extreme caution and demand a printed contract before signing.

I was hoping to get Safi's insurance information to start a claim, but the person I spoke to on the phone insisted that they didn't have insurance and I needed to speak with the renter's personal insurance. How is your business renting cars and you have no insurance of your own and are passing liability down to the renter? That is against California state law, which requires car rental companies to hold their own insurance in the amount of at least $5,000 for property damage. I've started a claim with the renter's personal auto insurance and if Safi doesn't want to give me that information, I hope they give it to the insurance adjuster that will be calling this week. And I really hope it doesn't come to the DMV asking them some pointed questions about their lack of insurance and refusal to cooperate with third parties who are legally entitled to this information. Advice to those who find themselves in my situation: don't waste your time calling Safi directly the way I did. Just start the claim as a third-party with the renter's personal auto insurance and let their adjuster do the legwork for you.
