I would give this place zero stars if that were an option. Service was terrible & food not much better. Definitely DON'T RECOMMEND!

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would find a bakery that can give any pâtissier in…read moreparents are run for their money tucked away in a cute little cottage core shop in a small Adirondacks Village. Everything I tasted was absolutely incredible, and I tasted at least half the things on the menu. My favorite was the crustless quiche on a Dutch knuckle breakfast sandwich. Literally one of the best things I've ever tasted. Honorable mentions go to the salted caramel donut, Blackberry morning bun, bagel breakfast sandwich, and apple fritter. The chocolate donut and cruffin were also extremely excellent. Shout out to Brenna, the butter fairy and butter princess for the buttery perfection. The latte drinks here are also phenomenal. In addition to the quality of the food, I truly appreciated the attention to accessibility and inclusivity. I'm not lgbtq but it was nice to see the pride flag flying out in front of the store. What I am is disabled and I was so impressed how this tiny shop in an old house made their facilities so accessible to wheelchair users like me. It was incredibly affirming to see not just a ramp but a perfectly graded one that anyone could wheel on and a large perfectly laid out restroom. We chose to sit outside on the porch and there was a table that was perfect for me and my two travel companions. Tables inside are accessible too. As a testament to how much I love this spot, we had to drive by on our way out of town to get more things. I will definitely be back if I come to saranac Lake again and hope everyone goes to support this incredible business and the talented, kind people who work there.

Great pastries, fast and friendly service. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the arearead more

Schroon lake residents and visitors should be thankfull for this place…read more if you are used to buying bread etc. at Topp,s or Price Shopper etc. than you may incorrectly feel that it is pricey. Because the traffic in the village isn,t non-stop prices need to be enough to make a profit and still be able to offer fresh, fresh, fresh products. Baker Marks and i enjoyed a nice conversation about a variety of subjects. Support them when you can, you won,t be disapointed. Best of luck

Hidden in the back of the Pine Cone Mercantile store, a business that shares both the address and…read morethe phone number, is a scratch bakery that specializes in artisanal breads. The loaves usually sell quickly, so it's best to show up early. My sister clued us in on the place and as we walked by shortly before they were closing at 4 pm on a Saturday in August, there was a tent sign outside showing a variety of breads crossed off and two remaining. Sure enough, there were not only just two flavors left in the display case, there were only two loaves. We purchased the sourdough with cherries and pecans. As we were paying for our purchase another customer came in and bought that last loaf. When we got back to my sister's house we sliced the bread to try it. It was absolutely delicious! I also understand that scones and croissants are made on the premises by the owners. My sister actually reserved some for pickup the following day. (Unfortunately, we will have left for home by then.) I did also spy a case with a variety of cheeses - next time. It's my understanding that this is a husband and wife operation. The husband makes the breads and the wife makes the scones and croissants. The wife is also responsible for the operation of the home furnishing store (Pine Cone Mercantile) that you will walk through to get to the bakery. Go ahead, just try to not be tempted to buy something in that store also as you pass through. Their Facebook page says they are open 10 am - 5 pm Thursday - Monday. However, they were closing at 4 pm the Saturday that we stopped in. I suggest calling them before going.
