Mezzaluni Verdi! This is my new favorite!
Eric F.

Food: Italian food in Mexicali? Believe it or not, it's pretty friggin' good too! The MEZZALUNA VERDI is incredibly good, spinach ravioli-like pasta in an Alfredo sauce... I was just sad there wasn't more of it! Awesome appetizers, calamari was solid, prosciutto and cheese platter was very European-esque and the deserts were all good. Watch out for the cheesecake - the slice they bring seems like a meal in itself! The only thing I would comment on, the restaurant is very fancy and upscale inside, then when they serve the bread, it comes in a metal cone with paper wrapping. Get rid of that and go for a nice basket with a warm cloth or napkin to hold the bread in. Step that presentation up a notch... Atmosphere: It is very nice inside the restaurant, but it can get a little loud with all of the people that they cram inside. Still, it seems easy to have conversations even when it is busy. Service: No complaints, even with the rush of dinner we were still able to be seated and our server was very nice. It is great they can usually speak English and Spanish, so communicating with everyone appears to be pretty easy. Price: It's Mexico, so it's cheaper than the states. For just an elaborate meal, it is a little more inexpensive than it would be in the states, but for Mexico, it seems to be one of the more expensive places that we ate at during the week. Still, 30$ will get you an awesome meal! Overall: This place rocks. Everything was delicious, people were friendly, menus in English/Spanish/Italian... such a unique experience and I will definitely be back to try more food!

My favorite place to eat in the city, service is great, food is great, place is comfortable and seats are appart from others so you can enjoy your food, i love the deserts that are prepared at your table

The ambience and overall decor is clean and modern. Very trendy Restaurant serving up delicious Italian handmade pasta dishes in Mexicali. Just a short drive away. Compared to the Italian Restaurants in the Imperial Valley this is a must try for anyone looking for a nice Dinner with loved ones. Music was hip and service was great. Place is even open til midnight.

Found this place while visiting a relative in this town. The place is really nice and seems like it is a new building with Air-conditioning. I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp. It was delicious and creamy. I also ordered the sangria and it was refreshing and the balance perfect. Will definitely recommend checking out this establishment.

Went here for dinner with my boyfriend and his family to celebrate his step mom's birthday! I was excited to try out their food since I was so hungry by the time we got there. We had a reservation and we were seated without any problems. Since we were a big party we ordered a bunch of food to share among everyone. While we're waiting for our food we were given a small assortment of bread with some olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The bread tasted good and I was already starting to get full after eating some... Overall the favorite thing we ordered was the Filetto di Manzo con Pepe. It was so good, I loved everything about it! I also liked the Crostini di Mozzarella y Prosciutto that we got as an appetizer. Those were my favorites out of everything we ordered. I felt I didn't enjoy the rest of the food we ordered as much due to the lack of flavor. I was mostly excited to try their pastas, but their Spaguettoni al Aglio e Ollio felt so dry and flavorless... And I didn't enjoy the Fettuccini Alfredo a la Ruota due to the alcohol that was added, but that is a personal preference of mine. Their desserts tasted ok, but at this point of the dinner I was so full that it was difficult for me to enjoy any of the sweets we ordered. As for their drinks, I ordered a Piña Colada and a Paloma. Their Piña Colada was SO strong I couldn't bring myself to finish it, the alcohol flavor was just too much. On the other hand, their Paloma was SO good! Paloma's are probably my favorite alcoholic drink hands down. It was made perfectly and even came with a full can of soda. Still glad I tried this place out! If I ever do come back I would be interested in trying out different items off of their menu.

Buen ambiente con buena comida. Buffett desayuno muy rico y variado. Recomendaría abrir la parte de barra sin necesidad de pedir a mesero.

Good tuscan style italian food. Nice surroundings but a bit pricey. Good wine selection.

I'd post pictures but unfortunately I ate the visual aids. This is one of those hidden gems stashed…read morefrom Main St., and for a small restaurant, it packs a weapons grade A++ for the food and service. For those of us in Phoenix, we'll have to make the trip to Yuma, but it's worth making the drive for a day trip or doing an overnighter. I had the lasagna...an item that was taken off the menu but recommended by the owner (Mario) since they made some that day. It's gone now, and I savored every bite--sorry about that. Besides, a pic wouldn't do justice to the rich layers of piping hot, tender pasta sheets, slathered in hearty meat sauce and creamy béchamel and ricotta. If this is Italian comfort food, I'm all in with the way Mario's crew put this master piece on a plate. This also goes for the caprese, Cacio e pepe, margherita romana, along with the deserts like the tiramisu' de treviso, cherry cannoli siciliani, and even the bread basket is over the top. Again, apologies for the lack of photos, I will say that the visual appeal of each dish matched the flavors, so the food vanished before the thought of a photo op crossed my mind, and I savored every bite--errr, sorry about again. But if I had to make a statement describing the whole dining experience: "the gods smiled". To summarize: -Imported ingredients from Italy -Fresh vegetables -Mellow atmosphere -Service and dialog with Mario -Outstanding food Highly recommended! I'll take pictures and post them next time we dine here.

Autentico Sapore indeed! I'm so glad I finally ventured over. We stopped in on a Friday afternoon…read morefor lunch. The warm atmosphere inside can't be beat, friendly staff immediately greet you amongst wine filled walls and Italian treats all around. Located inside the Quarter Master Depot (Colorado River State Historic Park) you get to dine in a historic building that has been beautifully redone to feature this Italian venue. Mario's clear goal is to bring the authentic flavors of his home to you, here in Yuma. My mom and I shared the veggie salad, caprese antipasti (comes with delicious bread) , and a slice each from the slice menu. The textures and portions were just right (no watery or oversalted dishes here!) There's a great selection of Italian wines, and they even do wine tasting events! I'll be back sooner than later.
