Great Teachers, friendly environment. Classes are small which gives the students a better chance to learn without distractions.

Not mention, they do not care about bullying my daughter briefly attended this school. Another girl kept calling her lesbian and spreader rumors. Playground aids knew of this, but nobody mandate reported the abuse. She also made threats to harm my daughter in the bathroom. Then I worked in special Ed, poor kids because they were pushed to do work like the general Ed. I'm talking about writing full essays, multiplication when they barely knew addition, the work load his extremely heavy why is why so many behaviors would occur. One kid threw chairs across the room, because he was frustrated and the teacher couldn't even handle him. Not to mention, there's no sensory room for these autistic kids, not enough music, fun stuff, and the teacher never wanted to listen to advice. I got fired for getting sick, I was bleeding on myself soiling my clothes at work and wore pajama pants a couple of times to hide my problem. My punishment was extreme, I'm no longer allowed to work at any monrovia schools. Also, I went above my job by actually playing with the kids, I made progress that even the teacher didn't cause I got autistic kids to play, I bought coloring books, arts-crafts, my student didn't even have book fair money I paid for his stuff, his family loved me, and so did the other kids I inspired them through art. Their loss!!! Please do not send your special needs children here they don't know what they're doing!

Diversity, diversity, diversity... Did we mention diversity? As an Asian American family, I wanted my daughter to be able to have a great amount of exposure to other cultures and not just ours. From personal experience of growing up with limited cultural exposure, I've often found myself in many awkward situations where I was clueless on what the social norm was... It eventually worked out but I want my daughter to be exposed earlier to a group of people different than what we offer at home so that she can learn. 2. The little town feel. Through my church we donate lunch to our school districts' teachers..... I mean, who does that anymore?! But I'm grateful Monrovia does and we're able to show our gratitude for the teachers. 3. The education offered at Mayflower elementary. We love that they teach programing from kindergarten!! In a world like today... This is so valuable!!

This was not our experience at Mayflower Elementary or Wild Rose. A principal that stands behind bad teachers is NOT doing their job. A principal that doesn't support great teachers, is also, not doing their job. So glad we moved out of state.

Not only do they continue to help our daughter grow and give her the personalized attention she needs in class, on the playground, in daycare. But they have gone to the whole way to the mat for her to advocate for the essential services she will need to continue to learn and grow. Our daughter may well be stronger and even safer years after she graduates from AMS because of their limitless advocating for her. Separately, our daughter is now communicating at what an independent assessment has said is a level 1.5 years above her age group. And she's an increasingly confident and determined little person. Someplace else, she might be reciting more things by rote or I don't even know what skill someone might need a toddler to have. Instead, she can and will tackle anything. It just doesn't occur to her there's something she can't do. They are an enormous part of that. And just great partners in all aspects. I'm a better mom because I know them. Arcadia Montessori school is not just a school of magnificently talented, dedicated and kind people. They *love* their students. They advocate for and protect kids way beyond what one could reasonably expect from anyone other than immediate family. They just bring tears to my eyes - more than I'd like to admit! And just yesterday when I went to pick up our daughter who otherwise has deep separation anxiety said - mama, can you come back a little later?

First of all, this establishment claims that it "empowers students to be innovative and creative problem solvers." However, this statement completely contradicts what I went through. When I was a freshman in high school, I was placed into an honors math class and felt that I was prepared for the year ahead of me. This honors class was one of the hardest classes I've ever taken even though I had taken the exact same class in eighth grade. My math teacher would often say that "You guys have seen this before" or "You guys should know how to do this from middle school." I didn't. I had no idea what I was doing when I got to high school and felt incredibly behind from all of my peers. The fact that the subject I felt the least prepared in was math coming from a self-proclaimed "STEM Academy" was beyond me. I know my limitations and math was not it. I had all A's in math while attending this school. One of the biggest things I NEVER learned in Algebra I at IC was mean/median/mode. I remember that everyone of my peers in that freshman year Honors Algebra I class already knew this from middle school.

My daughter has been a student here since 2015 and I am so proud to see the young lady she is becoming. My daughter is a happy student and succeeding academically. She is also in sports and other key clubs that the school offers. As a strong leader, our principal has brought forth many new programs to IC like STEM and empowerment classes for our kids. I know that our principal always acts in the best interest of our students and strives to continue to bring great success to Immaculate Conception School. Being part of the IC School family motivates me to be involved because I enjoy the IC community and all that it stands for. I am definitely a proud parent of IC. Lastly, I look forward to my little one starting TK in the fall. The TK/ K teachers a hard-working team who are experienced and provide an outstanding program.
