Last open house for my daughter--and brother came along to visit his old teachers! Such a beautiful journey. They grow up so fast!

Bittersweet feelings as we turn the page to a new chapter for my kids. Both of them grew, learned, and thrived at this amazing, nurturing Montessori school. It's been a place filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories--we're so grateful for the journey! We will miss all the teachers!

We looked high and low in our area (Pasadena/Sierra Madre/Arcadia) for a preschool for our daughter. After a not-so-great year at a Montessori in Sierra Madre (teachers could not handle our energetic girl and communication was terrible) we were determined to find a better fit. She thrived in the Montessori environment so when a friend recommended this Montessori school in Arcadia we were happy to tour it. From day one the director Cheryl was very attentive- she showed us around the school and spent over an hour chatting with me. Maria at the front office is an absolute joy every time I call in or come to drop off/pick up my child. The teachers are SUPER experienced and have no trouble handling my daughter. They are a wonderful balance of warm and grounded, very dedicated. When we go to the Open Houses our daughter is overjoyed to show us around and show us her projects (which are all SO COOL!!). She never wants to leave- she enjoys playing with the Montessori "toys" so much! We can not recommend this school enough! If you're considering please go for a tour. You'll love it! They are celebrating over 60 years (their director has been there for many of those years).

My son loves all three of his teachers. His mom and I do too, great school My son joined the school when he was two years old, could eat on his own and was toilet trained. The teacher took our whole family to visit the school and talked to us face to face. We started from the summer class, and in a blink of an eye, we have been in school for a year. We were able to go to the hallway and see our son in the classroom during school hours, and he had made great progress, from crying to coming to school to handing out trays at lunch time. Our whole family went to the school's open house and we had a great time.

Overall, it's been a positive experience with a few minor considerations. One of the standout features for us is the flexibility -- the school is open from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and I really appreciate being able to drop them off as late as 9:30 AM. It gives us the chance to enjoy slow mornings together. In addition to the flexible hours, there are very minimal holidays, which is a huge blessing for working families who just can't take that many days off in a year. Meals (breakfast, snack, and lunch) are included, and the facility is nut-free, which is crucial for us due to our daughter's peanut allergy. The school is very accommodating, and both Emilene and Stacy are great with communication. Stacy speaks Chinese, which is helpful since we're a bilingual household, and she's on top of everything. Together, Emilene and Stacy run the school very competently and are always responsive when we reach out. We've also noticed Spanish-speaking teachers interacting with the kids -- it's a nice bonus to hear them occasionally counting or singing in Spanish at home. The school provides uniforms, which makes mornings simpler -- no outfit struggles. Homework starts in the Primary class but is optional, which takes off some pressure. I like that the teachers let kids learn at their own pace. For example, our daughter has started writing her name, while her twin brother is still tracing -- and both are encouraged at their own level. Class sizes are a bit large, which might be a concern for some. Also, nap time is still enforced even though our kids are weaning off naps -- understandable, but something to be aware of. One thing I do wish is that they would take and share more pictures of the kids during the day. As a parent, I'd love to see more of what they're doing and experiencing at school. Overall, it's a warm and structured environment with great hours, minimal closures, helpful staff, and a multilingual atmosphere that we really value.

They really stepped up to the plate working with me to get Mason (my 9 month old) signed up and registered as quickly as possible. Daisy and Ms. Melanie are consummate professionals and handled all the administrative details quickly getting registered with the assistance program that I'm using to help pay the tuition (which was not an easy process) but they were on top of it which allowed me to start bringing Mason right away. The teachers in the infant room are all really loving and affectionate, they always greet Mason with enthusiasm and love and he always has the biggest smile when I pass him over, which to me is the true test of a program because that reaction can't be faked! I love that I get a detailed report to bring home with all his important daily details like what times he napped and what he ate and when, even his diapering activity which is something all parents want to know! In addition there's an app which I can message his teachers or administrators and they get back to me right away. They also post pics of your child during their day which is always appreciated. I have zero reservations about recommending Wee Care to anyone looking for a high quality Montessori preschool and am just really pleased with my experience there!

Our search led us to Chandlers and we REALLY wanted a spot. Our first time visiting, we were in love with the big play, outdoor space, and food. Being away from my kiddos was brutal, but I knew they were getting great care, great friendships, and better cooking than we have at home. We loved that it was mixed age and SO much outdoor time. Ms Lina has been a lifeline for us through the years! She helps the kids grow, but also helps us grow as parents. This review will be long, so for a quick summary, a racial gesture made toward my daughter was not handled properly by the school director, so we requested a two week notice to leave the school instead of the 30 days in our contract, and school director Carolina made us leave right away. In past incidents of our child coming home with wounds, we were gaslit and lied to about what happened. But regarding the straw that broke the camel's back, my 3 year old daughter came home one day and said one girl was being mean to her. She had previously said that girl was mean, and bit her arm before. We tried to brush it off as regular toddler interaction, and since she said the teacher put that girl on time out, we let it go. However, when we asked how the girl was being mean this time, my daughter pulled the outer corner of her eyes and made a slanty eye gesture. Horrified, we asked her to re-enact it so we could record it and report it to Carolina. Over text, she said she was "dumbfounded" and found it "outrageous and unacceptable." She requested an immediate in-person meeting with me. When I went to school to meet with her, she had brought all her teachers in to meet with me, and all of them denied seeing this happen. Then she even told me that the child's gesture was not racist, and had no idea that it was offensive. Carolina said she didn't even know what that gesture was, and had to Google it. Ignorance doesn't mean that behavior is acceptable. I had to explain the Asian American experience to her, but she diminished our racial experience by brushing off my statement and saying "...just like how Latinos and African Americans experience racism, it's all unacceptable." As a person of color, of course I'm aware of the different types of racism people experience, but I'm specifically talking about a racial situation at your school, so why are you making such a generalized statement...? Although I believe that child didn't realize that what she did was offensive, it was the school's responsibility to communicate with their parents to say that gesture is not acceptable in school. That would have given us confidence to keep our daughter at Chandlers' until right up to Kindergarten because we knew the caretakers were taking care of her and protecting her. Unfortunately, instead of making clear communication on this boundary, she decided to tell us to unenroll from her school immediately because it seemed like we "have been dissatisfied with this school for a while already" and that "the stress that this was causing [Carolina] is enormous." Note: enrollment papers require a 30 day notice to unenroll, but they do not honor the 30 days. We asked to shorten to two weeks, but they let us go immediately. Other previous experiences: Half a year ago, my daughter was really anxious and refused to go to Chandlers (she's usually very excited to go). We asked Carolina why, and she said because my daughter was put on a timeout the day before for climbing a fence. Then later, during my meeting about the racist gesture, I mentioned that my daughter was put on timeout before, and Carolina acted surprised and said "no she's never been put on a timeout before". It just seems like she will say whatever suits her argument in the moment, and pretend previous conversations never happened. So should we believe that A) our daughter was never put on timeout but was anxious instead because something suspicious happened at school, or B) there was a timeout but was lied to afterward? My daughter came home with a wound under her mouth one day, and the next day we asked Carolina, and she said she forgot to tell us that some other kids ran her over with a bike. We let it go at the time, but looking back, we definitely should not have. My daughter still has a scar under her mouth to this day. No incident reports ever made, no situations are ever documented. My daughter came home with wounds on her hands one day. She explained that a boy pulled her and she tripped and fell, but the teachers saw and put him on a timeout. We accept that these situations happen, and the teachers put the boy on timeout and didn't pursue this incident. However, I casually mentioned it to Carolina, and she said my daughter got those wounds because she was bear crawling around outside with her friend, and those are blister wounds. Unbelievable, my daughter bear crawls outside all the time and never gets wounds. As an early childhood provider, we had expected the school director to be more forthcoming (especially when wounds and racism are experienced) and emotionally mature. The fact that she forced us to immediately unenroll because the situation was causing too much stress for HER is mindblowing.

But both Ms. Beth and Principal Ms. Marie gently reassured me: "Don't worry, she will catch up soon." And they were absolutely right. At first, she was too shy to speak at school due to the language barrier. But now, she has made so many friends and proudly brings home her artwork to share with us. What surprised me most is how well she's taken care of herself--and even our whole family! She now chats with our neighbors in English like it's no big deal. It's hard to believe this is the same little girl who used to cling to me quietly at drop-off. Her physical strength and coordination have also improved dramatically. As a parent our greatest desire is to love, nurture and guide my child. At AEP the staff...or Angels, whom go above and beyond the call of duty. In our experience of deciding where to entrust our precious Son factors of security, environment and development were paramount in our choice. I/we have made no greater choice than having enrolled our child here. Each and every staff member is truly an extension of our family. The rapport one builds is a lifetime from the parent-staff, staff-child and child-child is incredible. From our parental experience there is no handbook thorough enough to mentor us. But from Ms. Marie (director), Ms. Kim (assistant director), Ms. Anjali (Turtle class), Ms. Beth (seahorse class), Ms. Vicky (bear class), Ms. Frannie (dolphin class), Ms. Kelly, Ms. Debbie (retired), Ms. Stacy (retired) and Ms. Ivette (food preparer) they bestowed upon us throughout the years their invaluable insight and knowledge. Truthfully as 1st time parents they not only guide our child, but instill in us lessons that aide our adventures of parenting. We genuinely adore them and thank God for having blessed us with their unwaivering love and devotion. If I may elaborate on why AEP is so glorious is through the eyes of a toddler whom confides in us how loved and thrilled he is with his teachers and staff. It feeds our soul on how these Angels so selflessly yearns to mold these energetic bundles of joy. My Son would tell us of the heart felt hugs, the giggles, the conversations he has that makes him smile. As he express how he loves them and never wants to leave this school. Curricular wise is age based and is undoubtedly logically implemented. From encouragement and guidance the teachers fortify their needs through play and training. We often are so excited to see what he has acquired. I have watched my son develop in so many aspects that has layed a foundation I feel which will only propel him for the future. And I cannot express the shear joy we have had seeing him progress from an infant to toddler. From day one AEP has instilled confidence in our little one and us as well. I would enroll myself if I could ;p. As mentioned my son's love of this exemplary school is so great he decided to stay another year. You will experience unbridled joy as we have when your little ones sees their teachers off campus and schoolmates. It has been unequivocally the best decision we have made. I humbly and deeply thank ever Angel of AEP as they have touched our hearts, souls and minds. We are proud to be apart of AEP now and forever.

My daughter has been a student here since 2015 and I am so proud to see the young lady she is becoming. My daughter is a happy student and succeeding academically. She is also in sports and other key clubs that the school offers. As a strong leader, our principal has brought forth many new programs to IC like STEM and empowerment classes for our kids. I know that our principal always acts in the best interest of our students and strives to continue to bring great success to Immaculate Conception School. Being part of the IC School family motivates me to be involved because I enjoy the IC community and all that it stands for. I am definitely a proud parent of IC. Lastly, I look forward to my little one starting TK in the fall. The TK/ K teachers a hard-working team who are experienced and provide an outstanding program.
