My son came here when he was about 2.5 years old. This year we transitioned him to a public school for TK. We were searching for so many daycare around the SGV area and we came upon Playfactory Preschool. The school is located at a church. They have multiple rooms for the different age group. They have a large yard so they have plenty of space to play in. All the teachers my son had were wonderful with him. Ms. Wendy, Ms Maria, Ms Anna and Ms. Xing. My son loved Ms. Emma as well. She's the one who cooks lunch for the kids. He always came home happy. They are more play base than academics. They emphasize learning through play. This daycare is one of the more reasonable price daycare around this area which is a plus. read more

**Disclaimer: our son never went here (it was too far and even though I LOVE my tour we decided against driving half an hr everyday x 2 which we know can cause a lot of stress). This review is purely based off of my tour and the vibe I got. I had toured quite a few schools before enrolling my son in another preschool near our house (which we love). There were Montessori (both AMI and "inspired") schools, a posh school located in a rather affluent part of town, full immersion schools (Spanish/Mandarin). After touring so many schools, I had to say the most important thing for me is the teachers'/director's "vibe" and how well I think they will care for my child. This ain't a cram school for college. I don't need my kid to come out SAT style scoring a 1600 (or whatever the next "perfect score" will be). They need to be well cared for by loving care providers. And Playfactory had just that. Granted it was only a tour - but you can learn a lot about a place just during a thirty minute interaction. At some places I toured - kids were left crying by themselves with NO ONE checking in on them. The teachers were all there, seeing them cry, and did nothing. I really don't care if they teach Calculus, this is not acceptable. That was a hard no for me. At some other places, the director acted like my kid would be guaranteed a Harvard admission spot and sending them anywhere else would result in a detriment in their learning and development. We all know there are various ways of teaching and fostering learning. There is no one single way. I would not want my kid in a place where people think their way of doing things is superior. Hard pass. Come Playfactory - I had such a relaxing feeling the moment I spoke to Ms. Tammie. There was a girl who was crying for mom. Ms. Tammie knew her by name, crouched down and told her "I have a feeling it's almost mom time". She stopped crying immediately. When I came by the 2 year olds' classroom, this was after official school time was over so the kids were all independently playing, but they were all happy, calm, and their teacher was just around the corner prepping some stuff but always keeping an eye on them. All the teachers I interacted with were kind and seemed to not be overworked. For faculty - Playfactory gets an A+ from my tour. I also love how they have a HUGE play area. It was amazing, almost like Lacy Park vibe, which is really hard to find in most preschools. The kids do tree planting and care for their little gardens. It's the cutest thing. I am still a bit sad we didn't get to try Playfactory - not that we don't love our current school, but really the only factor that held us back from PF was the distance. I still recommend all my friends who live in the Temple City/Arcadia area to check them out. read more

Playfactory has been an amazing preschool for both of our kids. Compared to others in the area, it's not only cheaper, but they have great food policies for the kids - keeping super sweets away & making the kids fresh food. One of our daughters we started at another local preschool and for several months it felt like she still wasn't enjoying it or getting use to it. Since switching her to Playfactory (which was also cheaper) she's made many more friends and loves all of the teachers, especially her class teacher Ms. Wendy. She has opened up so much, loves going to school now, and has been learning so much more since going to Playfactory. They really get everything right. I've had multiple families that I am close to recommend playfactory preschool to me! I've compared prices around our area & their pricing is great for the amount of services offered. Their meals are home cooked in house at the school by Ms.Emma! I've been to school early for drop off and can see her making the zucchini muffins from scratch! They were able to potty train my son that was also included in tuition. I enrolled my son at 2.5 years old into the lady bug class overseen by Ms.Emily & Ms.Sylvia. Both are GREAT !! They are able to handle my son very well & keep up with his energy level. Ms.wendy who oversees the ant class is also super sweet & also interacts with my son since their classes are close together. The school keeps parents updated with bowel movements (in lady bug class) , how long your child has napped for, how much they have eaten during meal & snack times, & many photos of their activities throughout the day. I look forward to those photos and seeing my son interact with friends and join art activities. Any questions I have throughout the day I can just message the app and they usually respond back to me very quickly. The school is not over crowded & it feels like you can get to know all the teachers on a personal level! I believe all the teachers there know my son by name which is impressive since he has not yet been in all of the other classes yet. Our main reasons to select this school for our kids are 1) outdoor classrooms/playground, 2) quiet neighborhood with plenty of parking lots, 3) open all year round (no summer, spring or winter breaks). We sent our daughter (Nicole) when she was 3.5 yo and our son (Nathan) when he was 2.5 yo and they stayed all the way to 5 yo. The school has great protocol to deal with Covid and other contagious sickness. All teachers are very attentive and willing to work with you if your kids need extra help. They can guide or recommend the best resources to develop your kids' talent/interests. Our kids love Ms Emma home-cook meals which made them eat more variety of food than what we cook at home. Our son attended Playfactory from 2-4 years old. The teachers and staff at PF have become family over the last 2 years and have lovingly cared for our son. Every teacher, whether he was in their class or not, knew him by name and always cheerfully greeted him. The administrators, Ms. Lana and Ms. Tammy, were extremely responsive and helpful to any questions or requests that we had. Below are some notes about our experience at PF: Phone App: - PF uses the Lillio app to provide updates on your child which we found easy to use. We received multiple updates throughout the day including agenda, food (and amount eaten), nap length, potty time, and snacks. The teachers are generous with photos and notes so we always had a good grasp of what went on during the day. Food: - Our son is a picky eater, but there's nothing that Ms. Emma (the school chef) cooks that our son won't eat! Breakfast and lunch are always healthy and delicious (and when you see your kid is always asking for seconds... it has to be THAT good). Education: - Though PF is play-based and the kids spend much of their time outdoors, they still receive a set curriculum including learning their letters, numbers, and have various weeks dedicated to certain topics. They also offer extra programs such as spanish immersion, My Gym, and tap dance classes. Teachers: - We've been so lucky with our teachers at PF who have all been absolutely amazing (Ms. Stephanie for ladybug class, Mrs. Maria for grasshopper class). Awesome daycare/school to have your child to attend. All the staff and teachers are nice, caring, and sincere. Teachers here are not seasonal they're experienced and been there for quite sometime. Another note the directors Ms. Lana & Ms. Tammy are the sweetest and they love all the kids that attend there. They know every single child and their parents. Really engaged! I can't express enough how the directors, teachers, staffs here are so welcoming, supportive, caring to all the lil humans and so helpful. It only took my son 3 months to stop crying every single day but thanks to Ms. Xing. She is very sweet and knows how to comfort him and all the little kiddos. (Especially mines) he is a bit extra. All the kids love her and she speaks Chinese. The kids everyday has activities to do from playing, learning, reading, writing and sometimes they have homework too. It's not all about playing. The in house cook Ms Emma is the absolute best (my kids still crave for her cooking). My kids enjoyed the outdoor classroom so much and developed great social/emotional skills. I absolutely adore Playfactory Preschool! They have a great staff, who are experienced and extremely knowledgeable. My son attended 5 years ago, and he had the best experience. My 2 1/2 year old daughter started this week and she's already shown progress in various areas of developmental skills. I was extremely nervous as she is very reserved and super attached to me, but she's acclimating so well. In regards to Covid19, the school has taken every precaution to make the students and parents feel safe; including smaller class sizes, frequent hand washing, hand sanitizers throughout the facility, sanitizing toys and play areas at the end of each day, and easy/streamlined socially distanced drop offs and pick ups. Both my kids went to this school. And now one still does. We all love it here. The teachers are so nice and friendly! They are very educational and teaches your kids how to deal with problems and how to interact with others in the real world.Socializing is very important along with giving your kids a head start and prepare them for what will be ahead. This place also gives them self confidence that I see in my kids now and I'm very pleased and happy with their progress. I attended Playfactory as a child in the 80s, and have the most amazing memories and friendships from that time, so when I became a mom I knew I wanted my kids to go here, too. My son (who's now 9) started with some of my former teachers, when he came to Playfactory at 2, by the time my daughter started 4 years later the staff had completely changed, but only for the better. My daughter just left to attend Kindergarten and I couldn't be sadder. I will miss playfactory just as much as my kids do. It may be a little pricey, but the benefits are immense. They feed them delicious and nutritious breakfast and lunch, which is included in the cost. It's so convienent as a working mom to not have to worry about what my kids are eating when they're at school. (Shout out to Chef Emma - you're the best!) I loved the extra curriculars that are offered including dance, soccer, MyGym, imagination station, yoga, etc. Some require an additional cost, which I didn't mind, but it would've been much easier if it was just added on to the monthly cost so I could write one check instead of 3 or 4. The grounds are clean, colorful, engaging and of course educational. My daughter loved participating in tending the garden, (and eating the baby carrots she pulled out of the soil herself!) playing in the yard and riding the bikes. The staff is great. All of them are warm and loving. I never felt the least bit hesitant leaving my kids here. In fact, I wish I had more kids so we could still be a part of the Playfactory family. read more

This might be a premature review but I couldn't wait to share how wonderful Playfactory is. My 4 yr old son has been with grandma since 4 months and doesn't have any little cousins to play with nor other regular kid gatherings. He was hesitant about preschool, actually, downright against it. Ms. Linda was a tremendous part of my son's triumph over his fear of preschool. She also helped me with my own anxiety! There is discipline and structure. Kids learn to serve and feed themselves (you know what I mean Asian parents! Grandma loves to feed her grandson because he is TOO skinny). They have table activities and plenty of outdoor time in a great playground area. The on site cook, Ms. Emma, provides hot, healthy meals (no juice; only milk and water). Ms. Michelle, the teacher for the younger class, is also great with the kids. After two weeks of attendance, my son got sick. The director personally called to find out how he was feeling. Very personal staff and easy to get along with. The school is tucked behind a church in a tree lined residential part of Temple City and very secluded. This place is a hidden gem. read more

This is an amazing preschool--with four different levels for children aged two up to five. The staff is highly motivated and well-led by the Director, and its no surprise that there's now a waiting list to join. Our son started at the Playfactory last year after turning three, and he has developed leaps and bounds socially, academically, and emotionally. He was constantly singing songs from class back home, learning how to count and recite the alphabet, and most importantly, had fun! The meals were always nutritious, and the students got along very well together. My son barely slept in the nap time,he still can laid down and kept quiet though, because the teacher always sat beside him and patted him like their own child. My 3year old son has been in this school for over year now. Me and my son we love this school very much! My son always says he likes everyone there. Never heard of anything bad from him about the school. Even the school is little old. They have very nice huge play ground for good size of the kids. And nice classrooms. Which they are upgrading. And school members are always very energy with kids. They never look tire. And also I like good mix of nationality of kids in Chinese area. From 2year old kids and 4year old kids. They always play together learning social and having fun in play ground. Recently we got really nice new director Ms Lana. I was worry that big change from the beginning.
