I seriously dont get the bad reviews of this place. We have had nothing but a fantastic experience at Tyson Dodge. We bought a new Durango from them. Tim Slattery was our salesman. He was on top of everything, kept us updated along the process. Everything was spelled out for us and explained along the way. Ask for Tim if you go in. I went into Tyson Jeep in Shorewood, IL on Friday 9/12 @ 12:30pm, as advised by a Jeep Wave representative regarding the paint bubbling on my 2021 Gladiator. And to get a letter from the Service department referring to who they use for bodywork & paint. When I approached the Service Desk, and inquired about the letter / referral the Jeep Wave Rep asked me to obtain to honor the warranty. William Biciste immediately stated " I'm not giving you a letter, I'm not helping you at all" Then he started ranting at me stating " What's going to happen to the other customers that's waiting, I'm not helping you". Then he stated "Did you buy it from here". I told him no, I purchased it at the Jeep dealership that sold in Chicago a few years ago (Mancari's) "Well why don't you take it back there" he replied. And I said Tyson is closer to my residence. He walked away. I thought since I purchased a Jeep, I thought I would be able to receive assistance or service from any location. And not demeanored in any fashion because I purchased at a different Jeep Dealer. This individual would not help me the least. I had a windshield repaired a few years ago and he treated me the same way. Like I was bothering him, or he just didn't care for assisting a Jeep Owner. Or maybe even my Nationality. I really found this very unprofessional being in a Retail Segment. Way too many Jeep / Dodge / Chrysler Delaers in the area. Do yourself a favor, and save your headaches Consumer.. I drive for an hour to go there and look at a car. The car is not there. I call them they didn't know who the salesman was. I gave them his name and he was supposed to call me back and never did. To me it looked like they were placing a false ad in order to get people out there. Then they never return the call. TYSON MOTORS IN SHOREWOOD IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. We would leave 0 if we could.....RUN DO NOT EVEN ATTEPT THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT. We have decided against our better judgement to give this location another chance. Needed an Oil change, Tire rotation and a warranty issue with the clock. The vehicle does not get driven often. (less then 24,000 miles on a 2017 Chrysler 300 S. The oil change was done. The tires were rotated and we were informed we needed a new set and there is nothing they can do about the existing warranty that normally comes with the tires. Said it was out of their hands. Amazing the tires were warrantied under Firestone. Also, a clock issue that was on warranty. Josh the Service ticket writer was told about all these issues at the time. I contacted the service manager to tell him the issue with the trim falling off both side of the center council. He instructed us to bring the car in at which we did to get it looked at. Husband gets there and the service manager was busy but was told that he could be helped by someone else. Long story short after a lot of aggravation and going back and forth with the service people and the original service person my husband left. Amazing the service person who was assigned to us when the car was being worked on could remember the oil change and rotation but nothing about the clock issue from the 12th of August. We were told at that visit that his tires needed to be replaced due to wearing before their time. they quoted us a fortune for new tires that should have been pro-rated. They said there is no way of doing this he would have to buy new tires. Amazing we contacted FIrestone (the tires that came with the car) and they replaced the tires and had us out the door same day no issues at all. HMMMMM can you say shady? Now we come to the clock issue and of course it is not listed on the paperwork and the original person who took the service ticket can't remember anything about a warranty issue with the clock. Oh but he remembers my husband and the Oil change, tire rotation and after a reminder the Tire quote. HMMMMM The clock was fixed on that day however there is not an issue with the entire center being loose and the trim falling off. So my husband gets back Home and I again contact Tyson to speak with Mike the Manager in the service department to be told he was busy with a customer and my husband spoke with the other 2. That he was not involved with This. Transfers me to some Mario who supposedly spoke to Josh the original ticket writer and Josh remembers nothing of course about a clock. They keep bringing up that service has not been done there at this location. THIS IS WHY WE STOPPED GOING HER IN THE FIRST PLACE ALTHOUGH THEY ARE CLOSER. All about what they can over charge people to pad their pockets. Tried to get in touch with the owner of this location and of course you can't. Again, waiting for the district manager which according to Mario has overhead it all to see what he plans to do to take care of this. I have a call into corporate also. I am not going to be charged for something that they did to my vehicle. Seems like we were hoping that we would not notice until after the warranty expired. read more

Never take your vehicle here! Went there for power train warranty work, for Chrysler remanufactured v6 engine, which was leaking oil from the valve head, after four days of driving. The service writer was curt from the get-go. As soon as he heard power train warranty, I was told they won't cover it and his Director would have to look at it, but very busy, and didn't how long. I was then ignored (dismissed). Went to Bettenhausen Dodge and was welcomed with open arms! They will honor the power train warranty and are on it. From the comments I've read on Yelp, this dealership is pretty bad. I'd leave -0 stars if I could. read more

I called to get a quote on replacing the front turn signal bulb on my Durango citadel. Tyson quoted for the labor $412.50. The cost of the bulb they quoted $11. It seems a bit steep to replace a turn signal bulb. Update. I called Bettenhausen Chrysler in Tinley Park and asked for the same service. $18.73 including labor and parts. Picked up our Jeep today from the service center. Upon drop off, the lady working the desk had an attitude. It's 9am, not even a single good morning or hello. All I got was "phone number" and "recall?". So later when I came to pick up the Jeep, the cashier handed me my keys and said it's outside. I walk through the showroom and soon find out that car isn't outside at all. I walk back through the showroom and a sales person asks if they can help, but when I explain the situation, all I get was a "huh, that's weird they usually bring it up". Then proceeds to tell me they usually keep the cars on the opposite side of service intake. Still no offer to have anyone pull the car around. It's 30 degrees outside and snowing. I ended up walking all the way behind the dealership to find my car in the back. Upon leaving the lot, I see multiple employees take a smoke break... thanks for the help. I've never had such poor customer service at a dealer before. This is the first time I've encountered a dealer that didn't have your car ready for you and waiting to go on the drop of a dime. read more

According to your website and google it opened at 6:30am, I arrived before then to make sure we can get in and out and not waste our whole day. We purchased a Pacifica from Tyson in August 2016. We also purchased the maintenance plan and the extended warranty knowing we would have the vehicle for a few years and thought establishing a relationship with the dealer would be good. However, oil changes through their express lane takes an appointment and 3-4 hours. I have another brand of vehicle and take it to the dealership for service and oil changes and a complete multipoint maintenance only takes 45-60 minutes. Being busy people, we don't have 3-4 hours to wait for basic service. Lastly, we took the vehicle in last July for an HVAC issue. They fixed the HVAC, but we noticed our driver door was damaged. My wife called the dealer and sent numerous e-mails and pictures. The service department management either changed personnel or kept handing us off, but never replied nor did they solve the issue. So, I reported it to Chrysler, and that was equally as worthless as they stated it had to be dealt with at the dealer level and they could do nothing for us. So, we have a damaged door which is one of three marks on the car. I was promised by folks of which I could name, but will not that it would be fixed. Be warned, this is an irresponsible and poorly ran dealership. I base this on being in a sales/marketing role in the industry, and those whom value a customer fix issues and run efficient dealerships. We will not purchase from them again, and we have taken maintenance business to another Chrysler dealer. read more

The service manager was rude and condescending when I asked why I was being charged an hour labor for them to swap out filters that they pulled to check. TERRIBLE experience. I ended up not purchasing a vehicle from this dealership, and the owner can thank salesman Bob Adams for losing a customer. I am an out-of-state buyer and called about a vehicle they had advertised. I spoke with Bob and told him I had a trade -- a 2018 very low mileage vehicle in showroom condition -- and I told him how much I owed and that any deal was contingent on the dealership paying off the loan. I already had two other dealerships offer to pay off my loan if I bought the car they had advertised. On the day Bob and I spoke, I get an email from him hours later telling me sorry for the delay, that it had been extremely busy (total BS). Then I don't hear from Bob for days -- phone call or email -- so I call the dealership twice and leave Bob a voicemail and also email him. He doesn't return my calls or email. Basically I have to chase this guy down, which is totally unprofessional on his part. I finally reach him and he tells me he was in a meeting (MORE BS) and that he is literally sitting there working on my deal (MORE BS!). He then informs me that he didn't call me or email because he didn't want to give me negative news, which was that the dealership wouldn't be able to offer me anywhere near what I was asking for my showroom condition vehicle. Then Bob proceeds to quote me KBB pricing for my vehicle (NO! that is now how it is done, Bob), which is not only absurd but just plain stupid, because this is not how a dealership is supposed to determine the trade in value of a car such as this. WOW.....just plain awful. As I stated previously, I already had TWO dealerships offering me what I wanted but no, Bob the salesman is going to offer me....get ready for it.................EIGHT THOUSAND LESS. If I could give negative stars I would. Salesman Mike Murray is the consummate asshole!!! We scheduled a test drive and the techs left the car is ship mode. Couldn't be unlocked even though they had all damn day Friday to accomplish this task. Mike tried to say that the Challenger is a "super car" (it wasn't the Hell Cat, it's was a Scat pack) and that the techs couldn't unlock it from ship mode because you need to realign the universe and they are in a union. I drive a 2019 Jeep Cherokee purchased at this dealership in 2018. The car is an absolute lemon. The car was brought in for service while under warranty multiple times and each time the problem would come back shortly after or persist like no work was done at all. The car is now out of the absolutely pitiful 36,000 mile three year warranty and the problems continue to rack up. Used to be a fanatic of the Jeep brand but ever since the Fiat merger their cars have had the reliability of Land Rovers.
