My second review ever! I owe Tiffany this one after she did me a solid. A bit about me and LANY (my adopted fur child): I'm a biotech professional that worked at company located near Tyson's World of Dogs. I adopted LANY May of 2021. As expected, she was a shy, undersocialized, scared little girl. I wanted her to become socialized with not only people but with other dogs. After some research on other boarding/daycare businesses in the area, Tyson's seemed to be the best fit. Fast forward to now June 2022 and with me relocating for work, what a difference a year has made! LANY is a completely different dog. The girl once afraid of a shadow now is completely comfortable with even the largest of dogs. The staff constantly tells me that LANY is always having a conversation. I want to thank the staff at Tyson's (Mona, Vanessa, Tiffany, Pablo, etc) for all of their hard work and for taking care of my little LANY. It truly took a village to raise my girl and I'm grateful that her daycare experience while I was at work was enjoyable for her. Staff has always been kind and friendly towards me. They really do care about the little ones that stay at their facility. I've also had amazing experiences with the boarding and bath services! Every morning when I would exit the freeway, LANY would poke her head excitedly out the window ready to play with friends. Upon parking, she would often leap out of the car in anticipation of another day filled with fun. As a proud pawther it was great seeing LANY grow up and Tyson's was a big part of that. They also post pictures daily of the dogs during playtime. It was much needed seratonin boost seeing LANY with friends! I wish the staff all the best! I boarded my dog here for the first time over the last week and have nothing but good things to say! This is a family owned business and that love and care for the dogs really shows. When I came to pick him up, I was happy to hear not only how well he did during daycare but it was so cute to see they keep a list of names of the other dogs he got along with. We definitely found our place for our little guy to go when he can't travel with us. I know he'll be well cared for and safe here. When I adopted my new dog, I was bummed my old doggie daycare closed, but remembered a friend took her dogs to Tyson's. Their in-take and evaluation is super simple, and their reservation process is a breeze. Like with any boarding facility, make your holiday reservations in advance. My dog LOVES the facility and their people! He's always super excited to go, gets welcomed by name, and comes home happily tired. I love that they always make posts to their Facebook page, and take the cutest photos of my dog. They also sell dog food and treats. A special shout for Mona, who has been a total jewel! read more

I really wanted a dog, but my busy schedule didn't really allow for a dog. Then Covid-19 happened and I'd be home more and I saw a dog that I fell in love with. I call him Mr. Bruno. As the pandemic raged on, I found that days I had to be in the office, Mr. Bruno wasn't happy being at home alone for 11-12 hours a day, even with a walker coming in. I wanted to find something that would help him socialize and get to spend all of his energy. Tyson's reopened for day care a few months later and after vetting them thoroughly, I decided to try them out. I had called and was greeted by Mona who offered a tour of the facility. I walked over and saw the play areas and the holding areas. She also explained that Tyson doesn't offer the usual day care: where dogs are all thrown into one or two rooms together. That, in fact, Tyson groups dogs based on size and temperament and usually a group is 2-5 dogs. Given Mr. Bruno's unknown past, I figured this was a great way to acclimate him. The first day, I was told, Mr. Bruno would not be with any dogs. The staff would get to know him and see if he is a good fit and with whom he should play with. Mr. Bruno is also very fearful of new environments and on his first day, I had to walk him into the back. The staff was very gentle with him, giving him his space to feel comfortable. He wouldn't let the staff remove his harness until the afternoon. When I picked Mr. Bruno up that evening, he was happy to see me, but also really tired. I was happy. From visit number 2 until today, Mr. Bruno runs into Tyson's every morning. He loves day care. As we drive down the long driveway, he cries in excitement to get there and see his friends. On his activity tracker, he clocks anywhere from 40,000-55,000 steps and always sleeps on the ride home. Tyson's also posts to their Facebook page every day and I love seeing pictures of Mr. Bruno with his friends. If it weren't for Tyson's, I wouldn't be able to have Mr. Bruno and keep him sane while I am working long days. I believe they legitimately care about the dogs and make sure they are well cared for. I feel like the staff knows my Mr. Bruno and his idiosyncrasies. Thank you Tyson's for helping me care for my little guy and making my life a little bit easier and less stressful. read more

I went to the tour before trying to bring my puppy to this daycare. The person was nice introducing the place and easy to talk to. When I went to the place, there were indoors and outdoors. Outdoor room seem a little unclean, but understandable. Indoor seems better, but the person said that dogs can be indoor for only 20-30 mins. Otherwise, dogs will be outdoors. I was not good with my puppy outdoors for most of the time since it is October and getting chilly. I also heard many dogs barking and I felt terrible for the dogs they stayed. The tour was around 5:30 pm so maybe dogs were tired, but all dogs were barking. Thank you for the tour but will skip this place. read more

I don't understand the people who will leave their dogs in a 4 x 4 run in a cute, brightly colored room, and then complain about this place. Some ignorant lady gave this place a 2 star review because she was upset with the barking and said it wouldn't be the right fit for her dog . Tyson Kennels has been a critical factor in our ability to socialize and tame our feral rescue into a social, confident girl! Our fur-faced family-member (Bonita) was rescued in Central California at 10 months old, living on fastfood and starbucks scraps while her littermates survived abandoned in an orchard 2 miles away. As you can imagine, that alpha-gal personality, alongside the lack of socialization and training, was a big challenge for a working family. Putting her into Tyson doggy daycare got her right on track! And Bonita *loves* Tyson: "doggy daycare" is more magical for her than "walk" and "cookie", even, and she's made so many lovely friends there. (and I love them, too - hi Tiffany! Hi Mona!) Tyson is dog-smart; they aren't staffed by bored teenagers who stuff dogs into crates for 75% of the day, but instead the dogs are engaged by dog-smart professionals and exposed to play and socialization with other dogs. We have watched Bonita grow tremendously in her social skills, and (thank god) pottying skills. We are tremendously grateful to Tyson for helping this little puppy bloom; she's a doggy we can live with, and SOLELY because Tyson was able to work with her patiently and slowly. Admitedly, I myself am a "dog nerd"; prior to becoming a mother, I competed in dog sports, and have trained and worked with dogs into national titles and championships. Bonita, as a rescue, was a new challenge for me - but I fell in love with her at first sight, and saw her immediate possibilties. Tyson doggy daycare got Bonita into a confident and social enough space that she and I can begin working together on classes. This (classes with other dogs!) would not be a remote possibility without Tyson doggy daycare , and their staff's focused, attentive care to the dogs in their care. Tyson's saved us! We have been taking our dog, Thor, to daycare nearly every day for the last 1.5 years. Thor has severe separation anxiety. He figured out how to escape our yard and we didn't trust him not to eat our couch if we left him locked inside the house while we were away at work. Thanks to a coworker, we were referred to Tyson's World of Dogs in March 2017. Tyson's is amazing! I contacted them, received a tour from Mona the same day and had Thor in daycare the following Monday. The rates are very reasonable and we receive a discount when we purchase multi-day packs. They do have group play so the dogs can socialize with one another or one-on-one play for those dogs who are not so social. Mona greets us every morning with a smiling face. She makes sure to take Thor back to the kennels quickly so he doesn't get nervous with the "hand off." She is professional and caring, taking the time needed to make us all feel comfortable. Mona gives us regular updates on Thor. She has offered suggestions on how to help ease his anxiety. In the afternoon, we chat with Vanessa or Tiara while Pablo or Lisa retrieves Thor from the kennels. Everyone is so friendly and I believe they truly have the animals' best interests at heart. They are patient with us, patient with Thor and all his issues. To optimize their great love for animals even more, they alerted us to a small, pink mass under Thor's tongue. It turned out to be a plasmacytoma requiring major jaw surgery. Who knows how long it would have taken before we had seen the mass and addressed it?!? Tyson's may well have saved Thor's life! I believe that we would not have been able to keep Thor had we not been connected with Tyson's. For those of you who are animal lovers, you know how heartbreaking and desperate a situation this can be. We love our dog, he's a member of our family, but we couldn't keep him safe while we were at work. Enter Tyson's to the rescue! I've been bringing my dog, Barry, to Tyson's 5 days a week for the last two years for daycare. Now, Barry is not the easiest dog in the world. He loves other dogs but is very scared of new people. When we first started taking him, I was worried they'd never get him out of his run to go out and play. Somehow, they managed, and now Barry loves every single person who works there! When I take him in the morning, he couldn't be more excited. As new people have joined, they've all made an effort to get to know him and I love to see how quickly he warms up to them. I seriously don't know how they do it! I also love that dogs play in small groups and are highly supervised vs leaving all dogs all together to play all day. They do a great job of finding dogs that play well together so that the dogs are always safe and comfortable. Lastly, it's great to be able to check their Facebook Page and see so many pictures of Barry happily playing all day with his little crew of dogs. I had my dog here almost every day for two months for day care. It was wonderful at first.. My dog was able to play and socialize... The last time I took my dog to Tyson's was for a weekend boarding while I was out of town. When I picked my dog up, she was super sick. She was panicked for days, barfing and even fainting! I expressed my concerns to the gal that manages the place; and she could care less. Come to find out that some kind of construction was happening in the back. I asked the manager and she denied any kind of construction, and I was denied access to the back when I requested to see. My dog also was diagnosed with pink eye. It was great at first, then shady. My pup (I.e. my "child") Charlie Brown (mini Australian Labradoodle) absolutely loves Tyson's, and it couldn't make me happier! As a recent transplant, I was concerned I wouldn't find a good doggy daycare in the area that compared to my Portland experience. Good news! Tyson's is just as great, if not better! Here are examples: 1) Charlie Brown (my man!) squeels with excitement every morning when we drive in, and he races to greet the crew 2) He gets individualized attention - be it cuddles or fun play time 3) Most recently, my fur baby had a thistle that was irritating him that I couldn't find. We have gotten 3 German shepherds from Tyson Kennels. We got Shomer at 3 months old. Three years later we brought Zohar home. Both Shomer and Zohar lived to be just 3 months shy of 14 yrs old. Both had perfect hips until the day they died. Throughout the years when we have needed help/advice Tyson's have always been there to help. When Zohar got sick in June 2012, I called Randy MANY times to ask for her suggestions. She never hesitated to help and get us through his illness. He lived another 18 months. Friday the 8th of February 2019 dropped my dogs off for boarding following Tuesday arrived back in the country and came directly to Tyson's to pick up our babies cause we missed them. I always tip the staff just cause I know they work hard especially Mona. As I arrived and my dogs are brought out my female Frenchie is crying thinking in my head she misses me to soon find out she is limping and can not walk I ask "what's wrong with my dog I am then responded with I don't know she wasn't doing that earlier" she then starts walking normal for a minute so I put her in the car and take her home to later find out she can no longer walk to our home and is waiting for me to pick her up. After going back to Tyson's with my crying wife asking wtf happen to my dog I am told we don't know Tiffany Tyson one of the owners would like to speak to you on the phone. NO APOLOGY NOTHING they recommended me to Adobe pet hospital which I raced over there after a long flight and day worrying about my dog. After seeing the vet I am then toldHer knee cap is out of place and could have been caused by some sort of trauma or genetics REALLY! Your gonna tell me genetics has something to do with dropping my dog off 100% healthy and picking her up limping like her leg is broken! I then head home and the next day speak with Tiffany telling her that the vet has referred us to see an orthopedic surgeon for surgery and how do you wanna go about this? She replies by not wanting to take responsibility BECAUSE SHE FRAUDULENTLY OBTAINED MY DOGS MEDICAL RECORD FROM THE Emergency room to tell me that your breed is known for these issues and we didn't do anything wrong. We've been taking Sunny to Tyson's for daycare for the past four months. I work at Facebook so it's incredibly convenient that it is literally next door, but what really makes this place great is the people. Not only do they know and love Sunny but they've taken the time to get to know me and my wife. It's always a great experience to drop Sunny off and pick her up as it feels like you are doing so with your own family. Sunny also absolutely loves this place. She gets so excited when she sees that we've turned down their driveway and sometimes it's hard to get her to leave! When we get her home she is exhausted from all the fun she's had. If you want family-run, Dog-centric, safe, fun, well-structured daycare for your four-legged family members, this is your spot! My dog goes every day, and he is better behaved than ever due to the reinforcement offered by the staff. He wags his entire body when we approach out of sheer joy; the daily Facebook posts show him playing with his buddies. The staff are wonderful, and they really get to know the dogs. I wish they offered weekend pickups or drop offs, but that's the only change I would make. I recommend Tyson's without hesitation. So does my four-legged love. read more

We are new to the dog world so I will preface this by saying that. We were leaving for the holidays and every kennel I could find was booked and Tyson was the only choice left. The back of this place is freezing and wickedly loud from all the barking police dogs. We were terrified to leave our little pooch here and the lady working the desk was in a real big hurry to see us out. We felt awful for our dog having to freeze at night. They are closed on Wednesdays and will not answer the phone but I really could not handle leaving our dog there so I ended up climbing the fence in front of this place and banging on the door till finally a very annoyed employee let me retrieve my dog. This place is very old school. They do business their way and you better like it or go elsewhere. It's the way kennels used to be when I was a kid. It is not heated. If it's 33 degrees in Menlo Park in December, that is the temperature your dog will be sleeping at - but "oh, he'll be fine". Need to get in touch with someone there after hours? Too bad. Ever seen how the boarding at Petsmart looks? Well, this is a bit different. Honestly they didn't do anything bad, they just really rubbed us the wrong way and it was a bad experience for my family. When you walk into Tyson, you immediately notice it's not a normal kennel. The walls are covered with photos of German Shepards and their handlers from local police K-9 units. That alone gives this place some serious credibility. If it's good enough to be the preferred kennel for police dogs, it's good enough for my goofy lab. I've taken my dog to Tyson for about 5 years for stays ranging from a couple days to full weeks. I've never had any problems, and although she comes home tired (it can be a noisy place), she's clean (no fleas!) and healthy. They'll walk and bathe your dog for a little extra, and I've found it's worth it. I did witness one exasperated customer a couple years ago explaining to the staff that her dog must have been left unattended with an unneutered dog, because it was in heat and suddenly pregnant. I don't think they normally leave dogs unattended, but it's always wise to clearly communicate if your dog isn't spayed or neutered at any kennel, just to be on the safe side. Tyson almost always has vacancies, even on holidays. Dogs might share a run with another dog if they are extremely busy, but they always clarify that when you are making a reservation, and that has only happened once to me. Most of the time, I call up the week of my trip, and they have never turned me away. The main drawback to Tyson is their limited open hours/days. They are closed Sundays, Wednesdays, and holidays. This frequently results in much longer boarding than is needed; the worst case scenario being a late return on Monday, a Tuesday holiday, followed by their regular closure Wednesday. Even if you return on Sunday morning, you'll need to take a long lunch on Monday to pick up your pooch. This alone is the reason for 4 stars rather than 5. read more

I'm so happy I found Tyson Kennels on Yelp! I was in desperate need of daycare for my 6 mo. old pup Keo since my company is moving and bringing my pup to work (I know be jealous that I can bring my dog to work) is prohibited during construction time. Yesterday was Keo's first day and I was very impressed with how Tyson Kennels helped acclimate Keo to a new environment. The staff did a great job getting to know him and lettin' him check out his new surroundings. This morning Keo wasn't showing any separation anxiety and his little tail was waggin,' I know my pup is in great hands, such a relief! Phoebe, my dog is not a very easy dog to please. She does not like most people and she is not fond of new places, but she loves Tyson Kennels. She goes to Tyson Kennel every time we go away. She has stayed there for almost 2 weeks. She is always super tired. when she gets home. She smells nice after her bath, which she gets after every visit. I agree with the first reviewer that I wish they had better hours, but I can't really complain about that because I've missed flights or been delayed coming home and Tyson Kennels is always willing to keep Phoebe for an extra day or so. The other nice thing is that the folks at the kennel know Phoebe now and she always gets the VIP treatment. They also know when your pet needs their shots, so they will ask to see updated pet records. read more

Reggie-boy loves Tyson Kennels!! Everyday he drags me from the car to the door to greet the staff with his smushy-happy face. Reggie has been here for a week now and everyday he comes home exhausted from his day full of play! They accommodated a request to keep with his buddy (my friend's dog), fed him food I brought (tho they had their own to give him), and set up the webcam so I can see how much fun my pup's having. Its such a treat during a stressful day to see that my dog is getting the love and care he needs. I've witnessed several belly rubs on the web cam! So cool. We have taken our German Shepherd Dog to Tyson's a couple of times now. Both times, we had a good experience with the kennel and our dog appeared happy when we picked him up. On the second time, he was happy to go back and did not fuss about being taken back there. GSDs have good memories for bad experiences so I took that as a "canine recommendation". The professionalism of the front office and the state of the kennels was definitely better than other places I visited before deciding on Tyson's. They do allow un-neutered and un-spayed animals, unlike many other kennels. They will walk and bath your dog for you as well. Depending on your own schedule, you may find their hours inconvenient as they are not open every day. Cat Review: Even though their name says 'Dog', they also board cats. Everyone is kind and obviously enjoys animals. We have boarded our cat for extended periods of time (up to 7 weeks) on several occasions, over the past several years. They post photos of him on Facebook so we can be assured he looks good and always appears happy. Each time we have picked him up, it has been clear he was well cared for. This past trip, he needed extra medical attention, which they handled very professionally. He really enjoys his play time too. read more

We want to thank Tyson's World of Dogs for taking care of our girl Anika the first week of December 2018 and the first week of January 2019. The front and back staff truly do an amazing job with her and are always so professional. The day care staff is amazing and Anika loves the play time, not to mention the bath on the day she returns home. With the love and care you all provide on a daily basis, our travel time away is so much easier as we know our baby girl is taken care of. Everyone here is amazing! They take care of our dogs every time we go on vacation whether it is for the weekend or 10 days and we KNOW 100% that our dogs are taken care of. I can't say enough about Tyson Kennels and the staff here. I constantly use them to board my working dog and recently kept my puppy there with day care. The staff is great to work with and does an excellent job overall. I am not sure what's going on with the few negative reviews, but people are always going to have something negative to say. I trust them with my Malinois dogs and have seen the facility inside and out, it is worth the 30 min drive to a from their kennel because I trust my pups are in good hands. On top of that, they have great grooming service and some well needed working dog retail products that are hard to find elsewhere. Keep up the good work! read more

Tyson is the best home away from home for our 65 pound baby, Zuma. Not only is Zuma excited to be at daycare, I too look forward to see Mona at the reception area in the morning! We have been to a number of dog day cares locally as well as in other areas and rate Tyson Kennels as our #1 day care and boarding for Zuma. The entire staff is very caring, friendly, and respectful not only with the dogs, but to the people they engage with as they come in the drop off/pick up their animals. I know I've mentioned her once already, but HUGE shout out to Mona as she the most accountable person I encounter throughout my day. Always on time and professional, thank you Miss Mona for being a ray of sunshine, even before the sun rises. Tyson's is amazing!! My dog came here for almost two years and loved every minute. We tried various dog daycares in the area prior to finding Tyson's, and I'm so glad we found them! They are 10x better than any of the other places. We personally only used Tyson's for daycare, but I heard good things about the overnight services as well. The daycare hours are great for working folks (7AM-7PM), and my dog would always come home tired from playing all day. You can also watch your pup on their daycare cameras, and follow their Facebook page where they post tons of pictures from the day! We are moving from the Bay and are sad we have to find another dog daycare because Tyson's set an extremely high bar! read more

We have been taking our dogs (both German shepherds) to Tyson for a while now and we absolutely love them! I have nothing but good things to say about this place :) Really sweet staff who is patient & knowledgable about grooming & boarding. After being groomed my dog looks amazing!
