Ty's Tavern has always been a place that was close to my heart! I have never thought of Ty's as the most family friendly location but it seems to have a lot going for it. The ambiance is great when it's busy, however most of the time I go into Ty's it's pretty vacant. It would be awesome to see it thrive. The food is incredible and it is cooked in house all times of the day and the bartenders really know how to make a good meal! My last note is I wish the pool tables were open and people could pay as they play that way people can use their own queue balls for practicing with full size balls! However, the main concern is that when the tables get stuck it takes extra time out of the bartenders time to constantly unlock the tables with keys. Sometimes it can be every single game of pool. So it just flat out isn't my place for pool practice let alone a place to play pool with friends. read more

Burgers are always good and so are the fries. That's the plus. The negative is if you want more than one little soufflé cup of ketchup or fry sauce it's an extra 25 cents. Service is good if it's not busy but it's ran with minimal staffing so if there's lots of folks there you'll wait on everything cuz there's typically only one girl running the bar, the kitchen and the gambling. If you're a regular you might get a little quicker service just because you know how and when to interject. All in all it's a good food and friendly bartenders, but I think now that I gotta pay extra for condiments and wait extra time I will have to think twice before stopping if there's more than a couple cars in the parking lot. read more

The bar is absolutely terrible the bartenders don't talk to you at all and just take your orders and leave. They don't come back to get your drinks again. The bartenders have a bad attitude, would not recommend and I'm definitely not coming back. Angelica was just flat out rude, not welcoming at all. read more

Cool bar for an out of towner. 2 pool tables, plenty of seating and a nice sized bar. Bartenders were nice. $5 for a draft budlight seemed high compared to home in Nevada, but i chalked it up as standard for the area. I went with a buddy, played a few games of pool, then headed to the next bar. Ok full disclosure had i not been down 3 games of pool out of 5 i may have stayed longer but i dont have to get whooped in pool to drink beers on vacation. Just came in here. Lovely little dive bar. Food prices are just a LITTLE steep in comparison to their servings, but I left full nonetheless. Place is not sanitary. Bartender goes back and fourth between cooking, taking cards and cash, and taking out trash and hand washing is never done between any of these. Wouldn't trust anybody to make me food or drinks here. read more

They're understaffed. It took forever to be waited on, and the poor bartender was also the cook...and was "in training!" How do you get trained when you're working alone? I love this place. I live right by here so I'm able to walk over often. The burgers are amazing, some of the best I've found in tri. Thick greasy with gooey cheese on a toasted bun, so yummy, and the fries are good too. I usually get my food to go but when I do eat there the service is great, they make sure my drink is full and seem to be taking care of everyone else just as well. I'm not 21 so I can't speak about the bar, but there's always cars over there and people at the bar so can't be too bad. read more

I have been in during the day on a few occasions, the service and food is actually really great. I live 2 blocks away so about once a month we give them the opportunity to earn out regular bar time business. Twice we had decent service... (coming from a previous service industry professional) these occasions we should absolutely not have been served at all! The rest of the times when we walked in not completely wasted face, we were ignored HARD. I would say 50% of the times we have gone we have been ignored long enough to just walk on back home without even being spoken to. A dream of ours is to simply have a neighborhood bar! This place will not ever be. Good thing we bought a house within walking distance right! To the owners: your bar is simply set up for failure. The design of the bar, the fact that you have 2-3 employees falling all over each other in an attempt to get EVERYTHING done and the obvious lack of training. Your girls seem to be working hard. BUT, it is YOUR responsibility to put systems in place! You should split responsibilities. One person behind the bar is all you have room for so work with that. I thought I would give Ty's another try because they are local and we are trying to support our local businesses. With that said, I am EXTREMELY disappointed. We went in to order dinner to go. Not one person in there had a mask except us, which is fine because they were having beverages, but there was zero social distancing and that is with the customers. The staff...well that is another story. The place looked dirty, the counters were all wet, there was ZERO cleaning after each customer. The tables were not wiped down. They dragged my credit card and receipts through the spillage on the bar, even when I told them it was all wet. It was like we were invisible. We were there 5 minutes before we were even acknowledged, then it took another 10 min. for them to take our order. It was at least 30 minutes later before we got the 3 hamburgers we ordered. We sat and watched the gal empty trash and then turn around and make drinks, there was NO hand washing at all. Watched the gal go from doing whatever it was out in the bar to the fryer, with NO handwashing in between, I shutter to think what happened at the grill. I am really saddened by the way this place has gone downhill. It used to be a really nice place to meet up with friends and have dinner and/or a drink. We WILL NOT be going back. And I saw NO COVID prevention except for a jug of hand sanitizer sitting on the bar. Thanks but no thanks. read more

Sometimes ya wanna go where everyone knows your name. Yeah, it's a dive bar, but it's solidly in the quality crap category. I like bars where you get to sit outside, even if it gets pretty chilly after the sun goes down and you've had quite a bit to drink. New rules: we all bring sweaters instead of hoping that Jeremy has more than one in his car. They have bar food, but we only got fries and chips. The fries were pretty good (although watching Tony do fry sauce shots was at least a little horrifying), but they ran out :( The chips were outstanding. They make their own chips! They're served with fry sauce and (apparently) ranch, although Tony couldn't determine that after 3 sips from the cup. Great location across from the West Richland police station. We couldn't tell if they were putting on some kind of crazy silent movie for us or if they were trying to lull us into getting busted. Highly entertaining (and good that I wasn't driving). I hate ketchup (worst. condiment. ever.), but I liked their fry sauce. I'm probably better off not knowing what it is. And two PhDs do not ruin a drinking session (especially when there are 5 pitchers for 5 people)! It's a minimum of 3 PhDs to ruin a social situation, thank you very much. read more

Walked across the street to here from Brickhouse, and managed to catch karaoke night. The bar is fairly big. It wasn't a packed house, but there were a few people having a good time, and singin'. This bar balances between tavern & dive (both nice in my book). Definitely a locals hang-out and one of the few options in West Richland proper. My friend and I grabbed a drink here and soaked in the culture. Overall a so-so experience here; worth stopping by if you're on Van Giesen. read more

Saturday, I ordered 2 burgers and a chicken sandwich with a nearly empty bar. The waitress never came back to check our drinks, which were empty. It took 30 minutes for our order to get done. And the cook messed up my burger order. Yes, I know it is a dive bar but there is some minimum level of service one should expect. I would not recommend this place. read more

There is one particular bartender that NEEDS TO GO. She has helped us a few times. Today I went in to watch football, in a sports bar...and with ONLY 6 other people in the bar it was a burden for her to change a single TV so I could watch the game I wanted to. 6 people and she was SWAMPED. Unpleasant attitude and after she demanded to tell her the drink I wanted while I was asking her about the TV, we got up and walked out. The rest of the staff is typically very good. Great bar(only bar) in West Richland. Live music and kareoke on the weekends. Great service unless it is busy so you might want to buy 2 if your a quick drinker. Barstaff also cooks so wait times could happen on a busy night when people are hungry. Very friendly barstaff. read more

Food is not bad but not exactlly good. The service is horrible. My girlfriend and i went there on a friday around 8 found an open table and waited. Took about 5 min for them to come and ask if we wanted a menu then they never brought one. 30 min in and they kept walking past and never even asked if we wanted a beer.. at a bar.. rediculous. She never filled out water the entire time we were there (which is all we were drinking and its 107 out), it took her 30 minutes to take our order and another 35 min for our one burger to be made. Went to TYs bar and grill November 21, 2014, our group was about 10 people. The waitress told everyone they had no cook and she was the only one serving. She also said she could give us Menus, but could not guarantee that we would even get our food made. She a bit flip but I suppose who could blame her. After our group finished one drink everyone left to go eat somewhere else. Poor professionalism and that night they just should have just closed for the night if they did not have a cook and just one waitress. read more
