Two Paws Up Dog Training - Our large, matted training area

Two Paws Up Dog Training

We went to Two Paws Up specifically for our girl Pepper. After being with us for about 9 months she…read moredeveloped leash reactivity and had an incident with a friends dog. I learned of the Reactive Rover doggy school which was a drop off, 8 course program. We dropped Pepper off for half a day approximately two times a week. Prior to beginning the course, we did an in-depth interview with Stephanie to go over our concerns and Peppers needs. We were given a packet of exercises and after each class were instructed on what to work on at home. We also had two in home lessons once drop off classes were complete. This training made a huge difference for us as a family. It helped us all gain confidence, helped us manage expectations, gave us patience and some great tools which we still use to this day. Pepper has come a long way from where she started and we're so glad we did the reactive rover school at Two Paws Up. Definitely worth the money for us! We also took both of our dogs to a nose work class lead by Stephanie following reactive rover school. The set up really catered to reactive dogs as each dog was crated and only taken out for their turn. It was a fun class and both our dogs really enjoyed it. Two Paws Up facility is really nice, it's large and clean. They offer a variety of classes and times. Its been a while since we've been back but hoping to enroll again soon.

When you travel year around it makes you nervous always looking for a new pet sitter. Central Bark…read morehas been an awesome experience! We filled out a very lengthy application to have our girls go and stay a few days. We joked it was like buying a car. All joking aside I loved how in depth they got with the background on our girlies. Within the next day Layne called and talked to my boyfriend. Kind of a lengthy call. Asked a lot of questions and answered ours. We were scheduled to come in Thursday-Saturday. When we got there we were met by Layne. He knew exactly who we were and our dog's names. One of the workers took the girls back. It always makes my heart smile when the girls go back without hesitating. Shows me they are in good hands. If my girls ever acted scared I would never leave them. Ruby is our social butterfly and Sierra tends to be a bit shy with new people and new dogs. They said they both did well. I loved the photos on their Facebook page. My girls both looked happy. When we came in to get the them they were excited to come home (like always). Very clean entrance and very organized. I love how the workers are able to bring their dogs to work. Sweet pups! The staff are Rock Stars! A+ I felt like they treated my dogs like their own. If we're ever back in the area we will definitely be back! I highly recommend for families with fur kiddos! (Most of the photos are from Central Bark's Facebook page. Mine are mainly photos around the entrance)

Extraordinarily professional and clearly knowledgeable, the owner, Montana, will make each client…read morefeel as though they are receiving the individual guidance they need even in a group class. Like many people during Covid-19, we finally found ourselves with the opportunity to adopt a dog from a local rescue, after several months of deliberation. Per the recommendation of the rescue, we signed up for a group class and quickly realized our 4yo/58lb/ Pointer Mix wasn't ready for a group setting due to her anxiety around other dogs. After I sent a long-winded e-mail unsure about what to do, I received a prompt call from Montana, who calmly addressed our concerns and offered to do a house call. We live in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago, and the Big Sky classes were being held in Winnetka, 30 minutes away. Without batting an eyelash, Montana was in our home the following day, arriving 15 minutes early and ready to hear our worries and concerns. My boyfriend and I felt relieved to hear her perspective and observations, and couldn't believe how fortunate we had been to have her as our trainer. As a note: The reason we were so impressed was due to her accessibility and a clear dedication to doing what is best for the dog. We had signed up for her 6-week Dog Obedience Basics (only 6 dogs per group, masks required) in Winnetka for approx. $180, and she charged us "only for gas" for the 1-hour house call. Prior to meeting her for 1 class, we had no relationship with her or experience with many trainers as several of the "premier" places in Chicago were booked. We were essentially strangers to her, and yet we felt like we received personal, premium care and service. Montana has set the bar high for our Dog Trainer expectations. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated professional, there's no reason not to call Big Sky Dog Training first. If you need more convincing, just remember that whatever you decide, in Montana's own words, "the needs of the dog comes first."

The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. The classes are incredibly valuable too. The results speak for themselves.
