Long story short, Benji did GREAT and all thanks to HPM! Firstly, as a commuting worker, the chauffeur service was amazing. They gave me a window for pick up and drop off a week in advance and were perfectly on time. You can tell that they really love their dogs upon their greeting and departure. Second, Benji loved having a huge yard to run and play in. I got a picture the first day (attached) and a video the next of him playing! It really put my nerves at ease. The price was totally reasonable and the options for grooming or swim lessons were awesome additions. I will absolutely be using Gabby and Happy Pup Manor in the future!

Think the business was sold at some point this year, and not sure if this Grayslake location is part of the original Glenview operation. But it has not improved its business hours, and has in fact reduced its accessibility to weekdays only. Closed on Saturdays now, in addition to Sundays. Oh, that's good for enticing new customers! And its prices have increased significantly. Daycamp used to be $25/day. Just before this location closed in 2021, it went to $30/day. Now it's $35/day. My GSD absolutely loved this kennel but given the revised business days and pricing, she'll not be going back soon - probably never.

You have to leave them there another night and then get them at the convenient time of Monday morning when everyone is free and able to run errands. So, if you like to take trips on weekends and return home on the day of the week when when the vast majority of everyone returns, you'll be doing so without your pup. It also bothers me because, why can't we get them on Sunday? Is there not enough people working there to accommodate that? Hmm

He was supposed to come by once a day and leave wet food, clean the litter boxes and replace the water. When I returned home, I noticed their water bowls nearly empty and old wet food. The litter boxes weren't clean either. He used the wrong bowls then told me he couldn't find the bowls left next to the wet food in the cabinet. When questioned about the low water, he stated he had problems turning on the faucet in my kitchen. How crazy is that? I know Craig didn't come over everyday like he was paid to do. I can't recommend his services. Thank God I came back when I did, because something bad could have happened to my cats. Really pisses me off the level of greed and no respect for living defenseless animals. Beware.

I witnessed a trainer punching a Rottweiler puppy in the head because it was being forced down on the ground, over and over again while they yelled, "bang,Bang", the little guy was so terrified by that alone, and got punched in the face by a male trainer. I'm kind of annoyed with their trainers however. When I first met Kaitlyn the trainer, she explained that Tops offers different training options for clients: board and train, day training, group classes, private lessons, etc. But after I took her beginning class, she absolutely insisted that Pumpkin has to do the board and train program. No way. I am not dumping my dog there for 3 or 4 weeks. Part of the problem is that some of the training methods there can be pretty harsh, which makes me wonder what might be happening to my dog when I am not there to watch and participate in his training program. Another problem there is the trainers at Tops act like they invented prong collars. They did not. MANY TRAINERS use prong collars. I currently train with Bill Balatsos in Palatine, IL. He recommends prong collars for most dogs. So does Jeff Hackanson, the head trainer at Dog Style Inc in Vernon Hills. The trainers at Lakeshore K9 in Highland Park also recommend prong collars. Tops didn't invent the prong collar. A lot of different trainers use them. If you want to learn how to correct bad behavior with a prong collar, Tops isn't your only option. There are other options, and they won't shove their board and train programs down your throat.
