We can not say enough amazing things about Gabby and Happy Pup Manor. We started communicating with Gabby months before we put our deposit down with the breeder. Gabby took the time to educate us both on our preferred breed, ideal size and time of year we should target for bringing home our puppy. Gabby was along for every step of the way, helping us choose qualities when selecting our puppy, giving us tips for the first few nights at home and answering millions of questions via text in the first few weeks. "Gabby, why is Arnold not finishing his breakfast, should I hand feed him?" "Gabby, Arnold was up for 6hrs crying in his crate last night, so I took him out at 3am, did I mess up?" etc, etc. Each reply made me feel like we were doing the right thing with our little guy and having Gabby as a resource was HUGE when you're questioning your every move as a new pup parent. When it was finally time for Arnold to visit Gabby at Happy Pup Manor (at 10 weeks), I was so excited and nervous to be without him for 10 days, but also ready for some well-deserved rest. We got video or photo updates daily or every other day from Gabby and her team. It was great to see his milestones along the way. We even got to watch his swimming lesson, along with commentary on how well he was doing! We missed Arnie, but were so excited to have a well-behaved dog upon return. Our in-home lesson lasted for almost 2 hours! Gabby was patient as can be, helping us navigate raising a puppy in our specific space. We live in a high rise in downtown Chicago, so Gabby helped us with training specific to our apartment. We worked in the elevator, walked around outside on his normal "potty route". Trained at the building entrance door and talked through what to do "if" scenarios with other dogs, other people, and downtown scenarios. Gabby could not have been more patient, understanding and she was truly able to customize the lesson to our specific needs. Post-HPM life has been fantastic. Arnold is much more obedient and at only 12 weeks, I feel like Happy Pup Manor paved the perfect foundation for us to continue to build on. I firmly believe that bad habits are hard to break and although Arnie's training is definitely not finished (see you again soon, Gabby), I am confident that we did the right thing by teaching him the basics of obedience early in his life. Having Gabby as a constant resource is invaluable and speaks to the fact that this is so much more than just a board and train. Gabby is a part of Arnold's life and I know she will be for many, many years to come. I know there are some concerns about someone "else" training your dog and whether or not he/she will listen to you. We've had no problem with the transition from Gabby to us, as we're all using the same queue's and holding him to the same standards. Additionally, my vet had concerns about Arnold being boarded before he was fully vaccinated, again, we did what was best for us, and were reassured by the fact that Gabby only has a handful of dogs at one time, ensuring that they are all properly vaccinated if old enough. Most of the pups Arnold was with were also too young to be fully vaccinated, and there were zero issues when he came home. Our family has been ecstatic with Gabby and the team at Happy Pup Manor. In the Spring of 2019 we welcomed Goldie (an Australian Labradoodle) into our family. We reached out to Gabby shortly after Goldie was born as we were somewhat overwhelmed.....this was going to be our first pet. We were looking for a training program that was willing to do all of the "hard work" of the first few weeks of having a new puppy....crate training, potty training and teaching basic commands. We called countless different trainers, but Gabby made herself available to answer all of our questions on the training program, her training approach and what to expect when welcoming a 12 week old puppy into our house after training. We had Goldie in our house for one night before she was picked up for the board and train program. At the conclusion of Goldie's four week program Gabby spent an hour with our family reviewing Goldie's training while teaching us how to continue the training at home. As with any puppy, we encountered a few new behaviors along the way and Gabby was always there as a resource to help keep Goldie pointed in the right direction. Goldie has been a well behaved and amazing puppy since training at Happy Pup Manor....no issues with her crate, accidents in the house, etc. We have referred multiple friends welcoming new puppies to Gabby and Happy Pup Manor. In addition to the board and train program, we have also used Happy Pup Manor for boarding. Katerina and the team make the process seamless with flexible scheduling. The "concierge" pick-up and drop-off service is amazing for a busy family trying to get out of the house for vacation. It is great to get a video or photo of Goldie having fun at the Manor, which sometimes includes special photo shoots like a photo with Santa! There are also "extras" that you can add to boarding like swim lessons.....It was amazing to see the look on Goldie's face after first time in the pool. Aside from our family knowing the Goldie is engaged and having fun while boarding the return "bath and blowout" ensures she returns home after boarding looking and smelling great. If you are looking for a training program that can take your new puppy and after four weeks return an amazing well behaved dog then Happy Pup's program is definitely for you. After Goldie's amazing training, we know she receives the attention and supervision during boarding and just wait for the photos and videos during her stays. Hands down the BEST experience for us and our 6 month old mini Goldendoodle puppy!!! I had countless friends recommend Gabby and based of all the positive reviews, I decided to contact her. Being first time puppy owners, we knew it was going to be a lot of work but had no idea how to manage it and where to even start with age-appropriate training. Bailey had all the typical puppy behaviors: nipping, biting, over-excitement, jumping on people, and the one that impacted our family the most, chasing and jumping on our kids, who were becoming terrified of her!! She displayed some resource guarding with her bully sticks and toys where she would growl at us when we went near her. She also was very scared of other dogs due to minimal socialization and an incident where another dog attacked her at 4 months :(. Needless to say, we were skeptical how Gabby would handle all of these challenges with Bailey. After the 10-day board and train, Gabby met with our family and brought home our sweet transformed pup. And when I say transformed, I mean completely, amazingly, transformed!! Gabby showed us all of the basic manner commands Bailey was taught, but more impressive to us was how well-adjusted, HAPPY and well-mannered she came back! Bailey's been back now for 2 weeks and I purposely waited a couple of weeks to write this review just in case it was temporary and the "magic" would wear off and she would revert back to her old puppy ways. I'm so happy to report that she is still amazing and perfect!! We have been consistent with what Gabby taught us and our sweet Bailey is so well-mannered and has NO resource guarding (bully sticks, food, treats, toys) AT all!! We can literally tell her to drop anything and she does!! She is now friendly with other dogs and walks so nicely on the leash (no pulling!!) We don't know how Gabby and her team does it but they are simply the BEST!! They truly have a gift and it was worth every penny!! I can't say enough about how amazing Happy Pup Manor and their staff are. I spoke with Gabby before I even had a dog. I was seeking information on therapy training for my future puppy. Gabby asked me to tell her about the program my dog would be working for, which is a non profit for children with Special Needs and learning differences. She recommended the type of dog that would be a great fit, sent me a list of reputable breeders, and offered to come with us on puppy picking day. Once we had our amazing puppy, Tilly, when she turned 12 weeks old, she went to Happy Pup Manor for the 10 day board and train . Our entire family was asked attend the take home lesson so we all knew how to continue our well behaved puppy training at home. After turning a year old, Tilly returned to Happy Pup Manor for 4 weeks for therapy dog training. Tilly is a sensitive pup who needed a little TLC being away from mom. Lead trainer Carol, and every member of their staff, including the kennel staff, gave her the love and security she needed. I needed specific therapy tasks taught for my program. The trainers listened to what our needs were and customized her therapy training to meet those needs. I left toddler sized adaptive equipment with them and they trained Tilly to assist with the equipment perfectly. The entire staff kept in contact with me during her stay with them. There were videos, photos, emails, and phone calls with updates on her training. We are beyond proud to have such a well trained dog that can provide several therapeutic tasks on command. Many specialized families dream of having a therapy dog for their loved one, but the cost of obtaining a therapy dog is simply not feasible. The therapy training that Happy Pup Manor provides can make all of those hopes and dreams come true ! As the proud parents of a lively 1.5-year-old boxer/chihuahua mix we adopted from a rescue in Manhattan, we've experienced some challenges following our recent move from Manhattan to Chicago. Our typically well-trained little guy seemed to have forgotten his manners and basic commands with all the recent changes. Gabby is absolutely amazing! We adopted a Labrador and struggled day after day with him. Between spending an hour outside trying to get him to go potty, to him constantly biting, jumping, accidents, the list could go on and on we were getting burnt out. We tried training him ourselves but we were not having any success. I spoke with Gabby soon after we got him and thought I could train him myself. After a month we didn't accomplish anything. We started rethinking our adoption decision. I called Gabby again on a Sunday evening to get more information on her training. Gabby was heading to a lesson but made time for my questions. She immediately offered to pick him up that evening after her lesson. Gabby was beyond accommodating and friendly. She explained everything and reassured me he was in great hands. Throughout his training Gabby sent me videos, pictures, and updated me on his progress. Fast forward 10 days and he is a completely different dog. All of his bad habits are gone. She is a dog whisper, magician you name it. We are finally enjoying our pup. The biting, jumping, chaos has stopped! We can actually have him sit with us without worrying about him having an accident or biting our kids. I highly recommend Happy Pup Manor!! Gabby & this place is awesome! Gabby had our G. Shepherd/Doberman/Akita mix for a month. We needed help with the protective barking, heeling & responsiveness to commands. This is the best of both worlds for training as it's Gabby's home & she has more than an acre back yard. Throughout the training process Gabby kept in close contact via text, e-mail, & videos of Guinness's progress! Gabby was tireless in working on his issues and taught him even more than we we thought she was going to! Gabby employed many different methods to modify Guinness's behavior that together all helped him with the specific issues of protective barking & responsiveness to commands. I cannot believe the difference since he came home 3 or 4 weeks ago! We are continuing Gabby's training methods and G. Is responding wonderfully! Guinness came home freshly washed, specific directions printed up to continue his training, and about 1 & 1/2 hours of 1 on 1 training & instruction on how to employ what he learned with our family. Gabby was very patient answering any questions & is available for future questions. And she picked him up & dropped him off! We now board with Gabby too- it's extremely reasonable! Happy Pup Manor is the place to be for both training and boarding for dogs of all sizes and ages. We are new to dog ownership and we wound up with a GIANT puppy. We don't know what we'd do without Happy Pup and their incredible staff welcoming our furry friend with open arms. Not only do we rest assured that he is having a blast in a safe, clean, enriching environment while we are are away, we also comes back a perfect (well almost perfect) gentleman. Gabby and her team are amazing! They truly love what they do and it shows! We sent our 11 week old Sheepadoodle, Luna, to Gabby for a 10 day training. Luna is super sweet but was very much a biter and herder. I would have been so happy if Luna came back not biting as much but the work Gabby did with Luna was more than we could have ever hoped for! Luna follows many commands and listens to what we tell her (for the most part)! She still is a puppy after all. Her biting is all but gone aside from chew toys. She sends updates about her progress and reassurance that she is having fun and learning. She truly puts you at ease. When it's time for your pup to come home, she spends quite a long time showing you how to continue the training she's worked with your pup on in your home. She also picks up and drops off your puppy. It's a huge bonus! Gabby is super flexible with schedules too. We had to adjust our days and she was very accommodating. Most of all, our puppy was cared for at Gabby's as though she was here at our house. If you are debating doing puppy training, I thoroughly recommend Gabby and Happy Pup Manor. We sent our 12 week old mini Bernadoodle, Bandit, to Happy Pup Manor for training and boarding and we could not be more thrilled with how well they did with our pup. He's like a different dog!! In a good way! From the start, they were super responsive and answered all of our questions, they were very easy to schedule with. The trainer who came to pick our dog was friendly and went over what they were going to work on. We received fun videos every other day of Bandit playing in their awesome facility. During the week, Gabby, the owner, provided a great update to us of how Bandit was doing and wanted to be sure they were working on what we felt was important. When Allie, the trainer, came to our house, we were amazed with what Bandit had learned. And Allie spent a lot of time with us to be sure we understood what Bandit learned and how we could continue the training at home. She answered all of our questions and provided great insight on Bandit's personality. She was so professional! We have had the best experiences with Happy Pup Manor!   Before we even sent our new puppy there, I reached out to Gabby to inquire about training.  She was so nice and went through all of my questions (which was a lot because I have never had a dog before).  Our dog, Dublin has been to Happy Pup Manor for training and boarding and we can't say enough good things about them!  Our entire family couldn't get over the difference in Dublin when she came back from training.  She was like a different dog!  A trainer brought her back home and went through everything they had worked on and answered all of our questions.  We have also sent Dublin for boarding too and we know she loves it there because she gets so excited when Stefani comes to pick her up because she goes absolutely crazy with excitement when she sees her!  We receive little videos and pictures of Dublin too when we are gone so we get to see her almost everyday!  We feel like we are sending our dog on vacation when she goes there and we couldn't be happier and we highly recommend Happy Pup Manor. read more

Gabby and her team are part of our family! We have a very busy family so we needed to find an extension of us. Both my kids participate in travel sports and I can leave Cody our Labradoodle with them and feel 100% secure that he is being cared for in the manor he is at home. Gabby and her team trained Cody when he was 10 weeks old for their 28 days board and train program. It was so well worth the money we spent. He came home and was completely potty trained, walked so well on leash, didn't jump, and knew commands of sit, down, stay. Cody knows the black van well and goes crazy when it pulls into our driveway. I even now need to pack his bag in the morning of pickup because if I pack it at night he is up all night looking for the van in the driveway :). They will pickup and drop off Cody for free so it saves me so much time and effort. Please don't hesitate to call Happy Pup Manor for your dogs training and boarding needs. Our 5 and a half month old labradoodle, Daisy, went to Gabby to be trained for 10 days when she was 10 weeks old. On Daisy's return, Gabby spent over an hour with us in our own home teaching us how to continue with the training at home and how to be consistent in our commands. Gabby definitely laid down a great base for us to build upon. Daisy was also very skittish of other dogs and people when we first got her, but she returned a self confident puppy who loves playing with other dogs and humans! We have since used Happy Pup Manor for boarding on separate occasions and Daisy is always happy to go and we love the photos and videos that we receive while we are on vacation. We know Daisy is having a good time. Included with her stay is free pick up and return as well as a bath on the day she comes home. Those perks definitely add to the value of Daisy's stay. Gabby is an amazing dog trainer!!! We adopted two chihuahuas, brother and sister, from the same litter. The shelter informed us that Bonnie and Binky were not house trained. We turned to Gabby to see if she could help us. In addition to not being house trained, the chihuahuas were poorly socialized and Bonnie shook in fright. Gabby did a 28 day potty boot camp ( plus some extra time!!!) with our dogs. In addition, she socialized them and helped them overcome some of the fear they were feeling. She does her training with a true compassionate love of dogs. Her knowledge and sixth sense for what dogs need is truly remarkable. She is also so good about training the owners! A huge part of sustained success was training us as the owners in how to reinforce wanted behaviors and correct unwanted ones. We were looking for somewhere to board our Yorkie for an extended vacation, and some friends recommended Happy Pup Manor. Our Yorkie is pretty strong willed and had some behaviors we didn't love, so we decided to have Gabby do some training with her in addition to the boarding. Some of our issues were pulling during walks, not being able to "stay" so she would get out of our door when we opened it, and not coming when we called her. When we got home, Gabby brought our dog back home and spent over an hour with us going over her new training. We were blown away at what she had accomplished in just under two weeks! It's now over a year later and our dog is still so well trained! I never thought I'd be able to walk her and enjoy it, but she will walk next to me at "heel." She stays in her bed now when we give her the command, and she comes right away when we call and give her a treat! I highly recommend Gabby for training and boarding! read more

WOW!!! Happy Pup Manor was the best decision me and my husband made when our little labradoodle puppy Tucker came home. We were lucky enough to get introduced to Gabby and her team by a local Lincoln Park family and she responded right away. Gabby's 10-day training was the best investment we have made for our dog and we credit his amazing behavior, loving personality and obedience to her. If I could give more than 5 stars I woulld!!!! Gabby has got to be the best trainer to work with. A friend decided to get a golden retriever puppy but then had to go out of town for work so my mom & I ended up taking care of this big puppy for several months. I decided we needed to have dog training for this guy; more for our own sanity than anything. The first private lesson was amazing! I wish we had known Gabby for every animal companion we have ever had in our home. It was more like WE needed the training than the puppy did. Gabby is so patient & so kind; I honestly cannot express how appreciative I am for training with her. She will explain the importance of positive reinforcement as well as when corrections are needed.   She has a private dog park as her back yard, it's a perfect spot for the puppies to run around!!! Gabby is fantastic! Cosmo, our Goldendoodle, has stayed at Happy Pup Manor a couple of times now. The first time we sent him to Gabby he was a wonderful puppy but he was biting, didn't like walks, and struggled with being crated. After 10 days of training he came home a new and improved puppy. The nipping was gone; the crating was no longer an issue; and, he now happily came on walks! Gabby came to our house and even trained us a bit. She spent an hour with us explaining a few best practices for managing our puppy's behavior. Since then, Cosmo has boarded at Happy Pup Manor. He clearly enjoys the experience. Gabby sends video updates and he is always having a good time with the other dogs. He comes home clean and happy. We love the door-to-door service and can't say enough about Gabby. Gabby is absolutely AMAZING!!! We first learned of Gabby through word-of-mouth. We have a 5-year-old lab/collie/husky mix who we rescued when he was about 2. He had many bad habits we tried so hard to break but just couldn't do it ourselves. We sent Hank to Gabby's 10-day training and he came back the same goofy, happy puppy but SO WELL MANNERED!!! She made our lives so much easier and trained us on how to handle him. She really helped us understand why Hank did the things he did and how we can correct his behavior. She is simply amazing. I will only take Hank to board with Gabby because I know he has so much fun while he is there and is in such great hands!
