I have used Brent and his crew for SEVERAL projects and have never has an issue. I am a GM of a Property that is always looking to have work done. They have handled everything from flood remediation, and full restorations to small drywall patch and repair jobs. They have done roofing inspections and repairs, carpet replacements, window repairs and I even contracted them to do a $150K + stairwell restoration project! They have ALWAYS been nothing but timely, professional and are nothing short of experts in their field. All of the residents that have had interactions with TYL have nothing but good things to say about their work. The one time we had a small issue, Brent was courtious and professional and went out of his way to make the necessary adjustments to make the residet happy. If a zero-star rating were available, I would assign it. This company presents itself as a Christian-based organization; however, our experience did not reflect the values they claim to uphold. We engaged TYL for restoration services and encountered serious concerns regarding their performance, communication, and handling of our property. At the outset of the project, our home was left unsecured during the removal of our belongings, creating an immediate risk to both the property and its contents. Upon return, many items were either left unprocessed in their original packed condition, returned wet, improperly handled, commingled with items belonging to another household, or replaced with items that were not ours. Additionally, a substantial portion of our personal property appears to be missing. Communication throughout the project was inconsistent and, at times, entirely absent for extended periods--particularly following significant issues. When contact was made, it was exclusively through staff members rather than company ownership. Notably, several of the employees we initially worked with are no longer employed by the company. Despite these deficiencies, the company has attempted to pursue payment and legal action for services that were not completed in a satisfactory or professional manner. Based on our experience, we strongly advise others to exercise due diligence and caution before engaging this company. read more

For your own mental sanity, please find another company if your insurance assigns you here for home repairs or if you are looking to do work on the home. When we brought up issues in the home we were told (and I quote) "We are a restoration company, not a renovation company" - essentially alluding that we should be grateful for that the work they did, even though it wasn't complete. We were assigned TYL for a house fire that occurred about a year ago and it has been the most stressful and difficult process, and TYL made it no easier. I'll add a link to a Google Drive folder with screenshots, photos and videos of our experience. For now, I've attached screenshots from my record keeping of things that were wrong in the home in May - mind you we moved back in March When they first come, they make it seem like it's about to be this fantastic process and that everything is going to go so smooth. But if it wasn't for the fact that I kept meticulous documentation and held them accountable, our house would've been half finished. The fire in the house started in August and they didn't even get started building things until maybe Oct - They said it was because they needed to get things approved and together. But even then, throughout the winter months, there would be weeks where nothing would be taking place and the house door would be open then because they originally told us March is when we would move back in once March starts approaching, you see them working at all hours of the day. Like if you were really spacing out your work correctly why are you in my house at 2 AM on a Wednesday in February? Then once we finally move in, we see things like the doors frames uneven, they took off a wall and didn't replace it, the porch isn't finished, windows are missing screens, the wood on the door is ripping apart (they refuse to take responsibility for it to this day) And worst of all when we moved back into the house after giving them our furniture, clothing, items that we care about for the last six months - Everything is still covered in soot and water. None of the items were cleaned and we ended up having to clean what we can and wash all of our laundry by ourselves. We threw away a good chunk of our items because they were water damaged, moldy, etc. from sitting in boxes for months untouched. and even to add insult to injury in the beginning, Even to this day as we approach the one year, there's still things that are not done in the home, and I repeated myself so many times to the project managers (We've had two and both of them refused to come onto the site and take a look at things after the contractors worked on it, won't believe us when we tell them that something's not working right, and even when there were serious things going wrong in the house, they refused to come until we paid the deductible (Which we sent immediately, and even then they still took two weeks to respond. I then told them that that's not good project management. The same way that you would tell your job when you go on vacation you need to tell your clients as well )) something as simple as the soap pump that they installed not working, they refused to fix it. They kept telling us that we're doing something wrong and every single time we show them that it's still not working. Honestly, the list goes on. I should've known that this would be a chaotic experience when they refuse to bring dehumidifiers into a home that was flooded with water after a fire. From having to chase behind them to make sure the house was adequately, put together, to coming back after six months to realize that all of our items in the house we're still covered in smoke and soot and just sat in a warehouse for months without even being looked at, to still having things in the home, not working correctly to this day - TYL Has done irreparable harm to my mental health, my piece of mind as well as my family's, and I can only hope that the work they did on our home doesn't fall apart or devalue the property. read more

TYL Restoration was referred to me by my insurance company to repair my kitchen ceiling after significant water damage. The project manager, Craig Johnson, was highly non-responsive, lacked efficiency, and never followed up on voicemails or followed through with scheduled appointment times. The lead contractor, Gani, did not understand the importance of delivering quality workmanship and meeting contractual obligations. In sum, his attention to detail was severely lacking. On more than two occasions, Gani and his team had to come back to repair unaddressed cracks and unfinished textures. To date, this matter still needs to be resolved. If TYL Restoration and Remodeling Inc. is referred to restore or renovate water damages, I recommend procuring another contractor through your insurance company. read more

TYL was on my insurance company's list of approved contractors for restoration services. Following significant water damage, an inexperienced project manager was assigned. The project manager was disorganized and did not communicate effectively. On more than one occasion, workers showed up without prior notice, and he often didn't respond to texts requesting information. The attention to detail was woefully lacking. Although it took a while to complete the project and there a few hiccups, TYL took responsibility for the matters, and came back until we were satisfied. I can't recommend Tim and his crews enough. From start to finish, they were highly responsive, friendly and professional. My hot water heater broke and it flooded my water closet as well as that of my neighbor in my condo development. Tim got his crews over to do the necessarily drywall repairs promptly, and they did great work. The crew staffers were unfailingly polite and considerate. Now, Tim tells me that TYL doesn't just do these kinds of repairs and remodeling, but a larger, wide range of repairs. You can bet that I will go back to them shortly to whittle down that ever-growing "to do" list of repairs that I have. Oh, another major advantage that TYL has over competitors? They actually answer their own phone!! What a concept, huh? Because of a surge in demand for services, I placed calls with several other contractors and never got a human being -- nor a returned message. From the beginning, the crew was very professional. The project manager came twice during the job, and then at the very end to be sure we were completely happy. If no stars were an option, I would certainly have to leave TYL and Brent Flester "0" stars for the work performed and professionalism. My house flooded on February 20th, 2015 and the work is still not finished or performed up to standard 3 months later. The dry wall work is absolutely terrible. You can see exactly where new dry wall was put in and it is not flush with the existing dry wall that had been there. The paint job is just as bad considering that they used two different finishes on my walls and they have paint transfers on all of my door frames and baseboards. In addition, they have broken items in my home to include the garbage disposal, bottom of my refrigerator, and my front door lock/handle! He also left the slate that I had around my fire place a complete mess and after multiple attempts, I have been unable to clean it. Today, I expected Brent to complete the work he had started on February 20th but instead he left my home saying he would not do any more work and even threatened to put a mechanical lien on my home. I will say that I would NEVER in a million years recommend this company! I am filing with the better business bureau and DPOR in hopes to get this issue resolved. I only went with TYL because my association chose them as the contractors, otherwise, I would never have worked with this company and would be a million times better off. Here's why I would never work with them.... Their work is absolutely terrible. Maybe it's because I'm young and Brent thinks he can get over on me because of that. Not sure. Maybe he thinks my business doesn't matter but the fact is, I am paying business just like anyone else. The first attempt at repairing my dry wall looked like my 4 year old son did it. So the next time he sent someone else in who also told me the person who did the dry wall work was someone he had to come in after to fix another job as well. Which is absolutely insane to me... You know this guys work is below par and yet you send him in to do jobs? It's like asking for someone to complain and ask for the work to be redone. Everything that TYL has done in my home has been below satisfactory but that's not the worst part. The worst is the unprofessionalism. When you don't do a job right, you fix it! You resolve the issue one way or another! Brent has done no such thing. At one point he actually raised his voice at me in my home because he was upset that his guys had made my slate so filthy that it could not be cleaned. If you can't clean it, you've got to replace it! simple as that... If someone was broken before you came in and it's magically broken or dirty or unrepairable after you come in, it's your responsibility to fix it TYL! And they have done no such thing. As I stated earlier, Brent walked out of my house today saying he's not going to do anything else.. Meanwhile I don't have a useable bathroom on my first floor for my sink and toilet are there waiting to be installed. On top of that, he says, "I'm not fixing your lock!" I am a single mother that lives alone with my 4 year old son and you broke our lock, took months to get a new one and now we have mix matching locks/keys for our dead bolt and other handle? The amount of BS I've had to go through with this contractor is unreal. So in summary, I would just say DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY!!!!!!!! read more

He did not like how the tiles came out around our oval Jacuzzi so he redid them three times until they were perfect. His company also does kitchens and roofing.
