The team got to work on demolition right away, while waiting for the items to be delivered. No Limits stayed within our budget and cleaned up a corroded valve that leaked into the kitchen. They began work on the bathrooms mid-September and finished early November. We were staying in our apartment so we weren't in a big rush. I was consulted on paint colors and tile placements. The team put in a lot of thought on how to arrange the master bathroom features, given the size. We are impressed with this team and very pleased with the final look. It's a bit of luxury for us. We hope to work with No Limits again in the future.

We engaged TYL for restoration services and encountered serious concerns regarding their performance, communication, and handling of our property. At the outset of the project, our home was left unsecured during the removal of our belongings, creating an immediate risk to both the property and its contents. Upon return, many items were either left unprocessed in their original packed condition, returned wet, improperly handled, commingled with items belonging to another household, or replaced with items that were not ours. Additionally, a substantial portion of our personal property appears to be missing. Communication throughout the project was inconsistent and, at times, entirely absent for extended periods--particularly following significant issues. When contact was made, it was exclusively through staff members rather than company ownership. Notably, several of the employees we initially worked with are no longer employed by the company. Despite these deficiencies, the company has attempted to pursue payment and legal action for services that were not completed in a satisfactory or professional manner. Based on our experience, we strongly advise others to exercise due diligence and caution before engaging this company.

From the first interaction to the last (and we were sad to see them go) it was pure professionalism. Contractors get a bad reputation of not showing on time, not communicating, taking short cuts... Hivex changes the game. We received a detailed email with images when we entered into a new phase of construction, every time. Scott Alice was fantastic as a project manager and made sure everything was above the standard. We miss seeing the workers every day and seeing leaps and bounds of progress. BUT we are so happy to now have a dry, clean, well lit place for our children to play, a wonderful laundry room, beautiful new bathroom and a poker space. My…read morebasement had flooding issues and when I tried to bring this to my elderly parents' attention, they somehow decided to finish the basement, despite the musty smell and this seasonal flooding for 20 years. I was hoping that maybe Hivex would identify this issue and maybe back me up on this point before they fully converted it to a rentable living space. But they didn't. We then got a huge rain which left visible signs of flooding and standing water on the basement floor. When I told my Dad, he said it was due to Hivex mopping the floor. I was certain that Hivex would help clear this up and attribute the water to the recent storms. They didnt--they confirmed (lied?) to my dad that it was due to their mopping a few days prior. So then they started installing the framing for the drywall, despite the smell and standing water. I knew the project was doomed at this point because once the drywall went up, that moisture would be sealed off behind it and the mold would just flourish. That's when we got the biggest storm in Spring of 2025 which resulted in catastrophic flooding of the basement, leaving zero doubt about the flooding. (This is also a common-sense issue in our area, which has heavy clay soil). We hired a basement moisture company to deal with the seasonal flooding but we had to remove the framing to install the dewatering trench at the base of the wall. At this point, they were really behind schedule. The price was outrageous. Over $80K. My friend just finished his basement and oversaw the drywall, electrical work, cabinetry, etc. He did his basement, which is larger, for around $20,000. The mark up was huge and I was really expecting more. Hivex is for people who love to spend money. Little things they missed: 1. Basement door will not lock and the GC never coordinated with the basement moisture people as to who's fault this was. I thought the GC was supposed to solve things like this and not let things fall through the cracks? 2. Ceiling fan is supposed to reverse during the cold months. This feature is broken which really sucks in the winter time, when all the warmth stays on the ceiling. 3. Faucet was really loose and I had trouble correctly tightening it. Frustrating for a few weeks as it gradually loosened and I had to keep fixing it. 4. The reverse pump for the bathroom was not even sealed. There was a visible gap on the lid of this device and the smell was AWFUL for a few weeks. My aging parents cant smell anything so they just said I was crazy. After a few weeks of this smell, they finally had someone come to seal it. This worker seemed very honest and he said it was bad they missed this. Nasty Hivex. 5. They have really bad deals and poor quality when it comes to their cabinetry and kitchen design options. (Cheap stuff designed to maximize profits). They also refuse to work with whatever company you went with for the cabinets/hardware/faucet. Again, whats the point of the GC if they arent coordinating with everyone? We went with IKEA and it was SO chaotic and horrible. Its basically an automated company at this point.

Brandon had let us know that the new shingles wouldn't quite match our old ones, but that seemed to be a supply issue. Not a big deal since it's the back of the house and not easily visible anyway. Steer clear! Shackleford's was the plumbing sub-contractor on our new house build. Within a year…read moreof the build, we had 3 water leaks behind the walls. Shackleford's took zero responsibility - actually wanted to charge to replace the parts they supplied and installed, and of course took no responsibility for the thousands of dollars of water leak repairs. Now 2 years later, after having intermittent problems with the water heater, we had a factory trained tech come, and he identified that the water heater was installed incorrectly in the first place, when the Shackleford crew (who by the way are not authorized installers of Navien water heaters) left screws loose inside the unit. The occasional glitch happens ..... but after multiple issues it's clear there is a pattern of negligence. Oh, and don't bother calling them for help, once they know you have a problem with their plumbing install, they won't return your calls.
