Let me start by saying this: I never write Yelp reviews. I'm honestly lazy when it comes to things…read morelike this, but today's experience at CrossFit Whittier was good enough to make me sit down and write one. I normally train six days a week at la fitness, I have a coach and a nutrition plan, but I always work out alone. Lately, I've felt like my training just isn't enough, especially as I prepare for LAPD. Yesterday during lapd training, we all got smoked. It was embarrassing and a big wake up call, that we're not as prepared as we think we are. This morning, I woke up around 8:30 AM planning my usual long training day, but my gym closed early for the holiday, which frustrated me. Another cadet had told me before, "You should try CrossFit," but she was in last place during our run, so I brushed it off. But after talking to more people, I realized maybe she was right, maybe CrossFit is exactly what we need to improve our conditioning, especially running, which is one of my biggest weaknesses. So I decided to call CrossFit Whittier. Steven picked up. I explained my goals and what I'm preparing for. He didn't try to sell me anything, didn't pressure me, didn't hit me with "you need to sign up first" he simply said, "Come check it out. Come get a workout for free." I showed up, introduced myself, and he showed me around. He put me through a workout, and honestly? It wasn't enough for me, I wanted more. So he gave me an extra workout to do, even though it was Thanksgiving and even though the gym was technically closed. That small extra session kicked my butt in the best way possible and made me realize I was in the right place. What stood out to me the most was that he didn't rush me, didn't send me home, and didn't act like his time was more important. He stayed with me to make sure I was doing the movements correctly. No other business owner would have done that on a holiday. He also gave me a law enforcement discount, which I truly appreciated. I left feeling grateful, motivated, and honestly excited to come back. I'm looking forward to training here every day, getting to know everyone, helping where I can, and pushing myself to be better. Even though today was my first day, this review should show you that the experience was meaningful enough for me to write all this. If one day was this good, I can only imagine what the rest is going to be like. The short workout I did here was already better and more humbling than anything I've done recently at my regular gym. I absolutely recommend CrossFit Whittier to anyone, especially if you're preparing for law enforcement, military, or simply looking to push your limits the right way.

I primarily come to this location because I value a well-maintained, clean pool and this pool consistently delivers. It's always clean, clear, and well cared for, which makes swimming here a great experience. The locker rooms and showers are also consistently clean and properly maintained. Early on, I did have a concern about members taking photos and videos in the locker room while others were changing. However, management addressed the issue by posting visible signage on the mirrors, and it has made a noticeable improvement. Anytime I've brought up a concern, the staff has been responsive, respectful, and quick to take action. That level of professionalism goes a long way. I've been coming here for over a year after having a bad experience at another gym with poor pool conditions, and this location has been consistently reliable. My only downside is the distance I drive about 10 miles one way just to work out and use the pool. That alone should say how much I value this gym. If I lived closer, I'd be here even more often. Highly recommend this location.

Getting access to basic equipment is a struggle, and the "bring a friend" perk only adds to the congestion. It's hard to get through a workout without long waits. I also wasn't offered any type of trial period before signing up. If I had been, I would've realized the environment wasn't a good fit and avoided this situation altogether. Because of all this, I requested to cancel my membership and asked for the cancellation fee to be waived. The conditions didn't reflect what was advertised, and the lack of a trial made it impossible to make an informed decision. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I hope the gym takes this feedback seriously

They have group classes (varying between 5-15 people,) small group training (about 3-6 people & priced a little bit more) & personal one-on-one sessions (1-2 people priced a little higher.) You can even drop in & try a class as a walk-in (for less than $20) & see how you like it. Every trainer is different in teaching style, but with the same goal in mind--to get their clients a good workout & good sweat. If you need modifications because of an injury let it be known & they'll tailor it for you. Having the right form is extremely important to me so I appreciate when the trainers would correct me or show us the correct form. I found community here when I wasn't even searching for it. I was reminded to have a strong & positive mindset & that I would only see results if I put in the work. This isn't just a gym. Melissa puts in a lot of hard work, time, energy & dedication to not only her clients, but also in providing equipment that measures up to those same standards. So what are you waiting for? Get in here! I promise you'll leave every sesh feeling sore & sweaty, but also full of endorphins & thankful you moved your body. (Oh! & you can rock the cute merch.)

We used to go to the Fit Body Boot Camp in Cypress years ago, but eventually stopped when we moved. We used to run marathons/half marathons, but then the pandemic happened. We do have gym memberships but we don't really go. We haven't worked out in awhile... starting all over again is difficult, but we did like our previous experience with the boot camp so we were glad to find one close by. We are now around 30+ sessions in. The workouts are no joke, they are super challenging, and we feel so tired once they're done, but we never regret doing it afterwards. Basically a love-hate relationship: we love that we're feeling healthier and (a little) stronger every week, but we hate how hard the workouts are, haha. Coach Chandy and Coach Sam are amazing, they are soo nice and friendly, always having encouraging words for us and are super motivating. To be honest, there are some days when it feels really tough to get out of the house to go workout, but having the coaches push us and guide us helps. Especially for newbies like us! Highly recommend giving this boot camp a try! "DON'T QUIT!"

I was greeted by the owner, Nick, and when I inquired, he told me about their upcoming 21-day challenge. He was patient and kind enough to explain to me how it works, what's the goal and outcome, and what I can get out of it. I signed up with my husband and I was so nervous on my first day. However, as soon as you walk in, there is an immediate sense of community and camaraderie. We both felt at home because of how warm and welcoming everyone was - coaches, front desk staff, and campers itself. I love how your goal is also their goal. Their care doesn't stop once you've signed up. It goes beyond the warm greetings before and after class. They would correct your form during workout sessions, check in on you about your progress and/or struggles, motivate you to work harder, and make sure to address any questions that you may have. Since joining, my husband and I have lost 10lbs and 6lbs respectively. I love how this works as long as you're committed and consistent. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a change, a community, and overall health improvement.
