I've been going to her since Mother's Day 2019 and she's captured all my eldest firsts from our Mother's Day to birthday to Christmas! Her work shows how much she tries to capture you and your little in the moment! She takes her time to get to know you, your life, and to become a friend! She is so patient with Miguel and knows how to capture him in the moment (I have yet found a photographer who can capture Miguel laughing or smiling in a photo like she has). Personally my experience with mari has been nothing but phenomenal! She keeps in touch and sends me updates about my sessions. I've always came back to her even when there's other photographers in Ventura asking when I'd book with them. (Usually try others once just because of friendship but always find myself booking again with mari consistently) her work has improved over the years, her editing style is something I always loved and obsessed over. Her work isn't just meant to be shown on Instagram but printed and frame to be placed above the fireplace or wall for everyone to see! It's very hard to get a good portrait of her to share with family and friends. Gary was so kind and patient and made her feel comfortable. Our experience with Silva & Silva was excellent…read more  During the lead up to our wedding, Gary was always very prompt to reply to our inquiries and always seemed genuinely happy to hear from us - his enthusiasm made us feel good about our choice of photographer from the very beginning. We decided to book Silva & Silva for 2 hours prior to the ceremony and also for the ceremony itself. On the day of the wedding, Gary arrived on time, ready to go. He respected our time and our schedule and didn't waste a second of it. Some members of our wedding party were not quite ready when Gary arrived, but he took this in stride and made sure to get plenty of shots of everyone who was ready. He was patient with us and made everyone feel comfortable and happy - he's great at getting a smile! During the ceremony and reception, Gary was always in the  right place at the right time. He made sure to get all the "classic" shots as well as numerous candids. He was unobtrusive and never got in the way - very impressive given the relatively packed house we had. He was also very helpful in making suggestions about what sorts of pictures to take and the timing of the day. While all of the arranged pose pictures that he took were great, I really think that Brian's greatest strength is in his candid photo shots. We have pictures of some of our nephews smiling and having fun...and I don't think they have ever taken pictures like that before. The cost of our package was totally reasonable, and Brian provided many more pictures than we thought we were actually going to get. After the initial inquiry, she sent a sweet video message to us, which immediately shows the level of service and care you're going to get. We went ahead with booking both an engagement shoot and the wedding service. For the engagement photos, Elizabeth helped us narrow down a location based on her extensive experience (we selected a place in Ojai). I was a little nervous, as we're not the most natural in front of the camera, but she was great at directing/posing us when needed and put us at ease. It was also a great way to connect before the wedding day. Leading up to the wedding, she had thorough questionnaires/discussions to make sure she understood what shots were important to us and how to best accommodate them. Shoutout to Bryan, her second shooter for the day, for also being wonderful to work with. Be prepared to have a "difficult" time when selecting your photos as there will be many to choose from! For both sessions, she scheduled time in person for us to review and select the photos we liked and for the printed books we got.
