I do not recommend this wedding photo & video company. My experience with Brett has been unbelievable. Here is my experience. At the recommendation of a friend, we hired him for our Malibu wedding in August 2018. He showed up, had a crew of 3-4 assistants and everything seemed like it went smoothly. After the wedding, we waited for the allotted time Brett had in his contract to complete the first round of edited photos and videos. Nothing arrived. We emailed him and got an email saying it would take longer but that it was somehow our fault. Odd, but we were in no rush. The photos eventually came several weeks later and looked great (why the review is two stars instead of one). However, The video came and I was shocked. One third of the shots were blurry and out of focus. It looked like it was edited by someone in high school. When we asked him about it and if the blurry shots could be removed, he said it was a blurry effect. I run a business with five video editors on staff and understand the difference between out of focus and an effect. I should have saved it to post it here so others could be shocked at the poor quality. We expressed our frustration at the blurry video and also asked why the first grooms speech wasn't recorded. He said him and his entire team were eating and didn't know the speeches were happening. Again, not the answer I was expecting from a professional with a team on site. Upon hearing this speech had been missed... my wife cried. Everything we had an issue with, Brett would argue with us over email saying it was somehow our fault. This happened again, and again and again. After a few rounds we became fed up and just asked if we could part ways nicely and hire someone else to finish up the editing. Nope. We then were told he had all the rights to the footage and would not be releasing it to us. My wife cried for a second time. At this point, it's now several months past our wedding. We have no photos and no videos we can share with friends or family. With few other options besides arguing, hiring a lawyer or giving up completely. We post a two star review for his company on google. We received a call later that day from Brett asking us to remove it. He refunded a small portion of what we paid saying it would now be ok if I had someone else edit it. Instead of asking that our review be taken down, he demands it from us and wants something in writing that we will never leave a bad review for him again. I was so frustrated and worn out that I sent the money back to him and said it would be worth it to help others avoid the same issues. We parted ways and that was it... until today. 17 months after our wedding. I get an email from Brett saying my bad review was brought to his attention by one of his clients. 5 minutes later, a two star review shows up on my company page (I'm the CEO of an Advertising Agency) talking about taxes and illegal payments to his company??? Then Brett writes "let's do each other a favor and remove both the reviews". SAY WHAT??? I'm now being blackmailed by my crazy wedding photographer. Seriously, I can't get rid of this guy.
