I hate this place. I'm giving them one last chance to do right by my dog Gage. This is technically…read morethe 2nd bad review I've given this office and this time, I'm not taking it down until I'm completely satisfied that this office can do better. Every time I've needed something from this office, they've failed me. I've been using this vet for over a year and I *thought* Gage was covered for all his preventions. After 3 visits and nearly $2000 later I realize that--no, he wasn't. He wasn't covered for hook- or heartworms for that entire year. All because they didn't include that medication in his medication portal--even though we talked about it and I brought up his past preventions. I didn't notice this was an issue because the meds I *did* buy came with the logo of the one I apparently didn't and even the vets and doctors didn't catch it. Now my dog is in a revolving door of gastrointestinal issues and NONE of the medications this vet has prescribed seem to work. Not only this, but every time I come into this office they try to upsell me on something I've never asked for, things I've never heard of, supplements I don't need, etc. Before ever getting the meds I asked for, this vet tried to get me to pay for 2 different supplements that I've never heard of. Big surprise, on a recent trip, I forgot to bring those supplements but did bring the arthritis meds and lo and behold, the meds work and the supplements weren't necessary. Just several hundred dollars down the drain. This office literally has ONE LAST CHANCE to not completely let me down. If I don't leave my next visit 100% happy and with a noticeably healthier dog, I'm changing vets, and might even consider a lawsuit. Seriously, how do you leave my dog UNPROTECTED FROM PARASITES FOR A FULL YEAR while charging me thousands!!?

Got there a few minutes early, they make you wait outside! You have to call to tell them you're there. It's 85 degrees! So they "let" me wait inside. When they vet finally came in (15 minutes late) the first thing she said to me was they like to do a full blood panel on dogs over 8 years old and she would discuss the estimate with me. DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT MY DOG! I just saw a big money grab coming. Called my old vet and have an appointment in 4 days, no deposit required. I never do this but just wanted to warn people. I'm happy people have had great experiences, the pets are the most important.

There have been times when the practice is very busy and it has been hard to get an appointment, but I still recommend them for anyone close by. The prices are reasonable for the area and I don't ever feel pushed to do more than I am comfortable with.

Recently we lost our Flemish Gaint Rabbit after weeks of care and failed attempts to cure a case of the sniffles that worsened to include a bladder infection. After a call to Dr. Wehrli, he was willing to allow me to stop by the office (day after his 2nd office visit) to pick up several critical care items since Tater Tot had not been eating and his overall health was noticeably worsened. Less that an hour later, I spoke with the front desk to inform them TaterTots Meds were ready to be picked up from the pharmacy and I no longer needed the antibiotic Dr. Wehrli had offered to prepare for me but I was currently on my way to pick up the other 2 items. The man I spoke with reminded me that they closed at 1pm that day and I said I will be there, driving there now. I arrived to the door at 1:02pm... doors locked, no lights and no movement. I even went around back and knocked on that door searching for some one to answer. I called several time and was put straight through to answering machine. This was 22 minutes after I had called and spoken to him (front desk). I was able to start Tater Tot on his 2nd round on antibiotics that afternoon after picking up from the compounding pharmacy. However he didnt get his critical care food suppliment until a day later because of having to order on Amazon. Tater Tot pasted away on 6/1/25... to date, no response to my email or signs of comdolances to our loss have been received by Family Pet Veterinarain. .... I will never return to this Veterinarain Office.

I contacted Wheaton Animal Hospital to establish care for my very anxious cat, because on their…read morewebsite they offer a very specific service (VSS) we may need in the future. When I called I notified them of this and was informed they would not take my cat on as a patient, if that VSS is what I am looking for. I explained, I am not wanting just that VSS, but I want to establish care at a vet where I can get that VSS, so as to not cause additional stress having to take my cat to another vet, if/when the time comes for that VSS to occur. I also wanted to change vets because the vet I was taking him to doesn't treat him as I'd like in regards to his anxiety. After some discussion, the appointment was made. Shortly after ending that call, I received a call from antoher person in the office, again stating they don't want to schedule the appointment, because I may want that VSS in the future. After clarifying the rules of engagement and my reasons for changing vets, the appointment was kept. Then today I get a call from the office manager asking why we are bringing my cat in, when he is up to date on shots etc. I explained again about the care he'd received in the past and that I want to establish care with a new vet who will do better and that he does require medication management for his behavioral meds. The VSS was not mentioned by me or her, but I believe it was probably brought to her attention, otherwise the call would not have been initiated. So, long-story long. The website specifically states a VSS is offered through their clinic, but if you try to become established as a patient, who might need that VSS in the future, they are not taking new patients who might need it. I get not wanting to do that service as a one off, when you don't have an ongoing relationship with the animal, but when someone is asking to bring ongoing business to your clinic knowing the VSS may be needed in the future, they should not be hassled. No, I was not officially turned away, but I was made to understand my business was not wanted, so I will be going elsewhere. Word to the wise, if you call to establish care, don't mention any VSS you might be interested in, otherwise you'll likely be told this can't be facilitated, EVENTHOUGH it's a service listed on the website. I'm very disappointed in my experience with Wheaton Veterinary Hospital, except with Carlos!
