From arrival to departure, the entire staff provides a highly professional and welcoming environment. Excitement takes over the moment we pull up; my little boy actually leaps out of the car and races for the front door, eager for the warm attention he always receives. Dr. Katie and her staff are fantastic, maintaining high professional standards while working directly on the dog's level on the floor. Luca genuinely thinks it is playtime while Dr. Katie expertly examines him through interaction and play. Hearing from the staff that my pupper is such a good boy during treatments--and doesn't even blink at vaccinations--provides total peace of mind because it is clear he feels completely safe in their hands. Entrusting my little guy to their care is consistently an A+ experience. read more

I cannot begin to explain sufficiently what a wonderful experience I have always had at Veterinary Park Potomac. Most recently our senior Lab had to undergo an Ultrasound and then abdominal surgery to biopsy come suspicious growths. Throughout the entire process the VPP staff and surgeon, Dr SJ, were so kind and thorough in explaining everything to me and reassuring me regarding the invasive procedure and follow-up care. EVERY single staff member is so friendly and caring and seem to love my dog as much as I do! I felt very comfortable following their suggestions and would recommend them as a 10 out of 10! The office is immaculately clean with lovely, soothing colors and artwork in all the rooms. And the rooms all have pet-friendly sofas so the furry patients can get comfy next to their owners! I cannot recommend them more highly! read more

I'm updating my review to reflect a very positive conversation I had with the owner of Veterinary Park Potomac. She personally reached out to me right away after reading my concerns, and we had a thoughtful, respectful discussion about my experience. I truly appreciated how seriously she took the situation and how committed she was to making things right. Her willingness to listen, explain, and take accountability made a big difference and helped rebuild my trust in the practice. Because of that conversation and how professionally my concerns were handled, I'm updating my rating to 4 stars. I believe that kind of response says a lot about the integrity of a business and its leadership. read more

Park Potomac Veterinary is a practice that pets and their owners deserve! Why? Is it the friendly staff, office cleanliness, or the inclusive updates re: care? Rocket actually knows that it is the professional, caring and proficient Dr.s, vet techs and staff are the most important aspect of this practice and we agree! read more

We had been searching for answers for months, and thanks to Dr. Monica's diligence and deep expertise, we finally learned the truth about what our dog was really going through. While it was painful to face, it was the answer we needed to relieve Teddy from his pain. Saying goodbye to my best friend was the hardest moment of my life, yet the team at Veterinary Park Potomac made it as gentle and peaceful as it could have been. Through every step, they showed unwavering kindness--not just to Teddy, but to our entire family. The room they placed us in was warm and calming, a space where Teddy felt safe and at ease. It meant everything that he wasn't scared or in pain, but instead surrounded by love. I'll never forget how he wagged his tail when he saw Dr. Monica right before she put him to sleep--proof of how well they had cared for him, even when I couldn't be there. Every small detail, from the way they ensured his comfort to the quiet dignity they gave him in his final moments, spoke volumes about their dedication. Teddy deserved to leave this world in peace, and because of them, he did. I will always be grateful. read more

We love Park Potomac Vets and so do our mutts! The staff is Super friendly and professional. The Dr is Amazing. We highly recommend.

I would definitely recommend Vet Park Potomac. We worked with Dr. Mari and Nathalia. They've been amazing in caring for our cat Lulu. The first time we visited Lulu vomited all night until there was nothing left in her stomach, Vet Park Potomac were able to fit us in the next day and her conditions improved a lot in three days. We've had several follow up visits and Dr. Mari always pays a lot of attention listening to our concerns, and Lulu usually gets better after the medications. The facility is very nice and clean, cleaner and newer than other vets we've been to, our cat is always comfortable when visiting. They're incredibly easy to reach, a real person is always there to answer the phone and they will know your cats situation well. They will also usually follow up with you the next day. We feel that the front desk staff is very helpful and much better trained compared to other vets. read more

Highly recommend. We moved to the DC area 2 years ago and were not sure we would find a vet as good as the one we left in Birmingham. We chose VPP kind of at random, but so glad we did. Love the docs, love the staff, they have been amazing through some serious injuries with one of our Italian Greyhounds. read more

Kind, attentive, and lots of follow-up. I have been taking my two cats to Veterinary Park Potomac for a year now (two annual visits). The space is clean and bright. And the staff and doctors have both been very welcoming, generous with their time, and very warm to my pets. They have been very prompt about following-up with lab results and written notes. And they also followed-up by phone a couple of days after our visit to merely check in on the cats after their (uneventful) exams. Overall, a really positive experience. read more

Very personalized care! Pleasant interactions from the front desk to the techs to the vet. I have one very sweet cat who turns into a monster at the vet. We went to nebel street for the longest time. Unfortunately they got quite busy and it became difficult to find appointments soon enough for our animals. A friend suggested Park Potomac vets so we went. Probably some of the most caring and friendly people who just love animals. I went here initially because of the reviews. I've taken my dog numerous times for various issues (my dog just turned 1) and they have been nothing but fantastic. The two doctors take their time with us during visits explaining everything in detail. The vet techs are all very patient as well and always make sure that my dog feels at ease during visits even though it may not be too pleasant for him (because of shots and other assessments he may not like). I recently just transferred my older dog here as well because of how much I like their service. I highly recommend them! read more

I can genuinely see why this place has a full 5 star rating: Dr. Katie, the vet techs, and the front desk were so patient and welcoming, and provided full transparency in both the billing estimates and my senior dog's care. They took the time to answer my many questions and are current in the latest canine vaccination and health guidelines. They made sure to follow up the morning after to see how my dog was reacting to the checkup and shots. I cannot recommend this place enough. Consultation fee was $96 for the visit and I left with more than enough info needed about my dog's health. Also, this clinic is furnished nicely and gives off a nice dentist office vibe - it's got a relaxing atmosphere. read more

Dr Monica and staff are kind, responsive, receptive- and work their hardest to find out the root causes of my maltipoo's issues. We appreciate how thorough she and her staff are, and our dog seems very happy and comfortable with the techs as well. read more

Dr Katie and her staff are always welcoming when my dog and I come in to see her. She goes out of her way to be sure my dog feels safe and comfortable. My dog and I are very attached to each other and his physical and emotional well being are very important to me. It is obvious they are very important to Dr. Katie also. The office is beautiful and very comfortable. The furniture is very pet friendly, which is a nice touch. Another plus is Dr Katie is young enough that I can be confident she will not be retiring in my 2 year old pup's lifetime. Since she practices alone the office is never crowded. I absolutely LOVE Veterinary Park Potomac and most importantly my puppy loves Dr. Katie Malehorn and her entire team, too! I have nothing but great things to say about this practice! Where do I even begin? As a first time dog owner, I was in search of the best veterinary doctor in the area and one that was compassionate, provided a positive experience at each visit, and genuinely cared about my the health and wellbeing of my puppy. From my very first call until this very day, I have always had positive interactions with everyone on the team. I know dogs have a tendency of being fearful of the vet, but my Morkie and I have never had that issue at Veterinary Park Potomac. This practice aims to be a fear free place for every pet that walks through their doors and they truly do everything to ensure that in the way they interact and care for your pet. The moment you walk through their doors, you are greeted with warm welcomes and lots of love, which is why my puppy always enjoys his visits. (Yes, even if he has to get his vaccines!) Dr. Katie is THE best! She is so genuine, kind, and knowledgeable. She has provided excellent care and has guided me through a lot of different areas of pet ownership during the first few months since I have brought my puppy home. Dr. Katie ensures you are well informed so that you walk away feeling confident and equipped to make educated decisions when it comes to your pet's health and well-being. Each vet visit is very thorough and it is always exciting to to share all of your pet's updates with Dr. Katie as she celebrates each milestone with you. I love the support and reassurance she gives you as a new pet owner too! Also, the entire staff is just as fantastic! Our first vet visit was far from intimidating for my puppy. The vet techs (shout out to Rachel, Roxy, Emanuel, and Kathy!) have always made my puppy so comfortable with their approach. For example, during my puppy's first vet visit, I loved how at one point we were all sitting on the floor with my puppy actively engaging with him during the examination while discussing important information about his health and wellness. This interaction alone made him so excited to be there and took the fear out of being at the vet. I am pretty sure my puppy thought we were all there for a play date (LOL!), but since then my puppy feels like he is there to visit friends at each appointment versus wanting to run away the moment he sees he is at the vet. Also, another huge shout out to Jessie (VPP's Practice Manager) who is the absolute sweetest person! She is so helpful and patient with me, especially when I called to book my puppy's first appointment. She answered every one of my questions and walked me through what to expect during the first visit. This, of course, put my mind at ease as I anxiously prepared to bring home my first puppy. Jessie even helped me through the health insurance process, which I highly recommend every pet owner to have for their fur baby! One thing I really appreciated is how transparent this practice is with their services and associated costs. Prior to my first visit I asked for an estimate of my upcoming appointment and they were happy to provide it to me via e-mail. (Again, this is super helpful for a first time dog owner!) They are thorough and make sure that you understand the types of services and care that will be administered during your visit. Also, the team provides you with options and recommendations to help guide your decisions when electing for additional care during your visit or future visits. I understand some practices can be pushy, but I have never had that experience with Veterinary Park Potomac. They are terrific with their communication, whether that is a text message reminder prior to your appointment, a follow up call after each visit to check in on your pet, and a detailed summary of your visit via e-mail. I am forever grateful for everyone here and promise that you and your fur baby/babies are in the best hands at Veterinary Park Potomac! read more

We are absolutely obsessed with Dr. Katie and her team! We take our dog and cat to her. Dr. Katie is kind, patient, and so knowledgeable. She recommends care for your pets like she would for her own. I'm always impressed by her, she's gotten on the floor to cut our dogs nails, gives the quickest shots I've ever seen to our nervous dog, and she will even step out of the office to examine your dog in the park instead so that they aren't as nervous. They are very passionate about creating positive experiences for your pets. They really emphasize comfort for the whole family and their office is beautiful. They don't overbook so you're rarely passing other people and their pets, it always feels like you're their only client which is really great for our reactive dog. Dr. Katie and her staff will spend however long it takes to educate you and ensure your pets get the best care possible. They answer any question under the sun and never make you feel foolish for asking. They answer emails promptly, even over the weekends when they can. They've answered my frantic call on a Friday at closing time and they followed up with me throughout the weekend to see how our dog was doing. The rest of the staff (techs, front desk) are also insanely knowledgeable and they remember who you and your pets are. It's always the warmest welcome when we come in, our dog has grown very anxious of the vet as she's gotten older but she charges on in through the door every time to be greeted by all the lovely ladies--if that isn't a testament of the superior care they provide then I don't know what is! We are endlessly thankful for Veterinary Park Potomac and we recommend them to everyone we know! read more

Thank you Dr. Mari and staff for such an incredible experience today! With today being Willow's first time meeting all of you, I've never her seen her calmer after a vet appointment. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we departed, I knew that Willow (and I) were in AMAZING hands. I do believe the icing on the cake was Dr. Mari's call after hours - explaining Willow"s results and recommended next steps. Genuinely appreciate everyone at this practice (and the willingness to get on the floor or on a couch with my pup to show her you really care) Highly recommended. We found our forever doggie doctor for sure. read more

We had a wonderful experience with Dr. Katie. The staff here was just lovely. Everyone was so nice and patient with our 12 week old puppy. He absolutely loved it there. Dr. Katie took time to explain the puppy phase, the recommended shots and non-required shots that may be beneficial, the pet insurance and the interaction/relationship between our new puppy and our older female dog. We did not feel rushed or just being pushed through the process. My husband was very impressed by the professional and sincere concerns of the doctor and staff. The office is very clean and modern. There are jars of treats for your dogs. Pricing was reasonable. I had expected to pay more because of the location of the office. I feel like we found the right vet for our puppy. Planning to switch our older dog to this vet office. There is some street parking but we parked by the Harris Teeter, where lots of parking was available. In the retail complex, there is also a fenced in dog park and the vet office is near lots of restaurants. Great location. read more

I couldn't have asked for a better experience at a veterinary practice . Dr. Katie is an amazing doctor. She's caring, professional, empathetic, and very skilled. We are new puppy parents with a sick little frenchie boy. Katie has been with us since day 1 and we have never felt more at ease and supported even through some very scary and stressful times with our baby. The team is amazing and I have total trust and confidence in this practice. I Couldn't recommend Veterinary Potomac more. They are definitely more than just a Veterinary Practice! They care and go above and beyond always. We will never see another Vet! read more

Best veterinarian experience ever! The entire staff reinforced my faith with trusting to take care of my furry loves! Highly recommend!!!

Exceptionally good experience on my first visit, highly recommended. Follow-up on several issues far exceeded my expectations.

I've been taking my mini schnauzer to VPP since we brought her home, and have zero regrets! Every staff member and vet we've seen has been friendly, warm and attentive. They take great care to make the visit as smooth as possible for my pup. I appreciate that they provide thorough information and discharge summaries via email after each appointment. They also have called me to check on how my pup is doing after vaccines or her spay procedure. This place has left me jealous of my pup for the amazing doctor's office experiences =] While it's not a budget option, I strongly recommend for those who are able/willing. Thank you VPP! read more

Can't even put into words how grateful I am for them! My primary vet (who I have seen for 10+ years) is located in Clarendon, VA - and I had previously taken my dog to Dr. Katy at VPP for an ailment, as they are located down the street from where I live. This morning I called (in a panic) because my dog, who has severe allergic reactions, woke up with what looked like a massive hive on her nose. They were fully booked, yet still told me to come right in. They took care of us within minutes no questions asked. My dog is quite nervous, and all of the staff, and Dr. Katy were so kind and patient with her. They treated her promptly, and efficiently; and saved my very anxious puppy a trip to the Emergency Vet. I cannot recommend this place enough, and absolutely would not hesitate to have them care for my dog moving forward. read more

The care my cat Harry received was excellent. Staff, especially Hope, were very kind and caring, as well as concerned that his needs were met and he was minimally stressed. I was very impressed and am glad to have found this practice. read more

Recently, my pug had her wellness check at Veterinary Park Potomac. Once again, the VPP staff was caring and considerate to her needs. Apollonia is very anxious at the vet such that she refuses to cooperate with an exam, shots, etc. Unlike other veterinary practices, VPP takes time to understand the needs of each patient and plan the best approach to ensure that the patient is respected and successfully completes the examination. Many thanks to Dr. Katie Malehorn for building a practice that is kind and compassionate as well as creating a team of doctors/technicians who are super smart and skilled. read more

Dr. Katie and all of the staff at VPP are simply the best. The office and operatories are pristinely clean and comfortable. They go above and beyond to make sure the animals and pet parents are comfortable and happy. I never feel rushed, Dr. Katie always answers all of my questions and takes her time doing thorough examinations at every visit. The staff is organized, nothing falls through the cracks, and they're always happy to answer questions that come up about my pet via email. I drive all the way from DC to come here because of the customer service, treatment philosophies, and attention to detail! Thank you VPP! read more

Dr. Katie contacted me quickly and explained that the issue over dental appointments had been a miscommunication on their end about the dates of the dental services.
