Having a veterinarian you can trust makes you feel safe. Unfortunately, my trusted veterinarian, Dr. Taylor, didn't have any openings. So, I tried a new doctor. Dr. Austin was very nice. She examined Hermoine and decided that Hermoine needed iv fluids and a shot. She was very gentle with Hermoine. A dog iv bag looks just like the iv bag in the hospital for humans. I am not sure who was more scared, me or Hermoine. But, she was so good. Dr. Austin told me what to expect after the shot and what to look for. I think she did a great job. Hermoine is looking better and feeling more like herself. Thanks to all of the staff at Canal Clinic and especially, Dr. Austin.

The locum (sorry, substitute vet) was self centered and, frankly, incredibly self centered. Having told us our dog was deathly ill, she seemed confused that we wouldn't kill our dog immediately so that she could make a social engagement that she told us was important to her. Great bedside manner. When we said no death going on until our kid came over to say goodbye, dr dipshit was even madder. When my kid got there and we were resigned to the impending execution of our dog, it turned out it wasn't going to be dignified. Because dr dipshit's mastiff was in the back room where euthanasia is normally conducted, Our dog had to die on the floor of the exam room. I can't forgive Taylor for hiring dr dipshit. Just remember this .

We first took him to a vet in Arlington that my family had used for decades. It turned out that Roscoe was terrified of veterinarians. A neighbor suggested that they use Liberty Falls. They have an all-female staff and since Roscoe seems to get along with woman than men we gave them a try. Dr. Geldon is just amazing. Not only is she an incredible vet, she is also so kind and so willing to listen and give us advice as we navigate the worled that is a new shelter dog. Our first visit there she examined Roscoe and then we got him off the table. We had Roscoe on one side of the room and she sat down on the floor on the other side of the room and answered all of our questions as she slowly tossed treats across the room to Roscoe. She has helped us with extensive dental work that was needed and always returns our calls if we leave questions during the day with her staff. The staff also deserves a round of applause as well. Recomended highly! Rob, Anne and Roscoe

We were able to get an appointment soon which was good. The staff was also efficient in sending over new client forms, etc. They are located very conveniently on Falls Road and have plenty of parking available. For the appointment, we took our pet to the clinic and were met by a tech at the entrance. She took preliminary information for us and took the pet inside - not human visitors allowed at the moment. The doctor called us a few minutes later and gave us a detailed account of the visit. She also made recommendations for future care and vaccination schedules. She patiently answered all my questions - and I had a few! Our pet looked happy after his visit and we had a good experience sending him there. Definitely a good veterinary practice to consider if this location works for you.

Having just experienced an injury scare with calamity I was expecting to need a gofundme to pay for things; things were not cheap but when you look at the itemized bill you can appreciate you are getting quality with value. Also, a 7 day course of enrofloxacin (1.5 pills/day) turns out to be about 25 dollars or so, for those looking for quantitative comparisons. One warning: it can logistically tricky if you go around multiple vets with procedures, you'll have to integrate the records well in advance, which means saving copies and forwarding them around. It can be best to start this interaction via email in case they call and you're not available, you can at least pass documents back and forth.
