Winston the mini Sheepadoodle after his exam and shot with Dr. Wehrli, DVM
    Noni R.

This was a great choice for my puppy Winston a mini Sheepadoodle. He loved Dr. Wehril. It was a very positive and pleasant experience. The facilities are very clean and was very nicely decorated and professional, friendly, courteous atmosphere. Very respectful and helpful in every way. Winston was happy and that made things perfect.

I'd had a dog before and knew what kind of commitment they require in time, patience, and money. I felt it was the right time since my job no longer required me to travel very much. I'd seen Chuck Bell (local NBC news weather personality) highlight HRA and featuring select dogs on his broadcast, so it seemed the logical choice. It was one of best decisions I've ever made. After seeing the dogs looking for homes (I wanted to adopt them all!), I saw Rico. He looked like hell and he was a little older than I was hoping for (5 years old) but he caught my eye. He was picked up as a stray and had no chip or identifying tags. He was undernourished and the lower half of his body was missing a lot of hair. The remaining hair had clumps of a black substance mixed in. It was explained to me that he had a horrible case of fleas when he was found, and the black goo was the tar shampoo that was used to heal him. I played with him for a little while and we hit it off. He came home with me that day. I've had him about a year now and I tell people I didn't rescue him - he rescued me. He has enriched my life and been such a joy to have that I can't imagine what I did before he came along. I'm including photos of him from when I first saw him and what he looks like today. It's amazing what a change love, good food, and grooming can accomplish. He doesn't bark a lot, was already housebroken, and loves everyone he meets (dogs and people). I couldn't have ever hoped for a better companion.

I continuously checked for appointments from 9:30 a.m. until noon, but at no point did I see a single appointment become available. I also called your service to confirm that the appointment date or booking procedure had not changed. I was specifically told that I needed to be on the computer at 9:30 a.m., which I was. Given that I followed the instructions exactly and still could not find even one available appointment over the course of more than two hours, I have serious concerns about how these appointments are being allocated. It makes me wonder whether appointments are being released through another method, reserved in advance, or whether certain patients are being filtered or given priority. I would appreciate a clear and transparent explanation of how appointments are released and how clients are expected to have a fair opportunity to book them. The current process does not appear to be working as described, and I would like to understand why.

Before you arrive: Making and confirming the appointment was a peace of cake with the online system. I had no trouble at all and was able to successfully submit all pre-checkup forms. When I called to ask random questions, the workers were helpful and friendly. Arriving: The individual at the desk (Rae) was lovely, and immediately greeted me and my pet. She came over to give love to my precious cat and made us both feel more comfortable for our first time. She offered us coffee and tea as we waited to be taken back. The area was spacious and clean, despite it being a rainy day, so it was a comfortable space to pause. The appointment: Nia to care of us before the doctor and was incredibly welcome and gentle with my cat. She coaxed him out of his shell with a treat and answered any initial questions I had. It was a quick bond as my cat warmed up to her and she kept him comfortable throughout the exam. Dr. Germann came in and was incredibly kind and informative. She educated me on important kitty care topics (weight, teeth, nails) that can always be brushed up on. She was super friendly and obviously had a lot of love for cats! Her and Nia gave special, comforting care as they gave shots and got us ready to go. After appointment: Payment was easy and straightforward. They gave me all of the information straight to email so I knew when I would have to come back and what to do in the meantime. Also note that they will remind you when shots are needed for your pet! Overall, a really wonderful experience even if it was just for a checkup! Highly recommend

This was, without question, the worst experience we've ever had leaving our dog in someone else's…read morecare. We booked the Luxury Suite for our 2-year-old corgi for two nights (about $285). It was advertised to include three potty breaks a day, six hours of daycare, a complimentary bath, and 24/7 camera access. Ironically, the only thing we actually received was the camera. Instead of giving us peace of mind during our vacation, it became a live stream of our dog struggling. The first red flag came at drop-off. A young staff member immediately tried to force a thin slip lead over our dog's neck and started pulling before giving him any chance to get comfortable. He choked and panicked. Looking back, we should have trusted our instincts and walked out. Our corgi has been leash-trained since he was a puppy. He's been to groomers, veterinary hospitals, dog sitters, and other boarding facilities without anyone ever saying he couldn't be safely handled. Later, we were told the staff didn't want to leash or touch him because they were worried about getting bitten. Because of that, he wasn't taken outside for potty breaks, didn't go to daycare, and spent almost the entire two days alone in his "Luxury Suite." Our dog is fully potty trained and will hold it for as long as he can. But when no one takes him outside, eventually he has no choice. He ended up peeing and pooping in the room and was left sitting in it. Watching the camera was heartbreaking. Throughout our trip, we repeatedly checked the live feed and kept seeing him alone--standing or lying by the door for hours. Corgis are active, social dogs that need exercise and interaction. Knowing we were hundreds of miles away and couldn't help him completely ruined our vacation. When we picked him up, he had urine and feces on his legs and body. He was clearly stressed, had lost almost a pound in just two days, appeared dehydrated, and later developed stomach problems. What hurts the most is that nobody called us. If they truly believed they couldn't safely care for our dog, why didn't they tell us? We would have turned around immediately or found another place for him. Instead, they simply stopped providing the services we paid for and still charged us the full price. We were also promised a call from a supervisor on Monday. That call never came. Their website says, "We're more than just a boarding facility; we're a luxury retreat for your dog... give your pet the vacation they deserve." After what we witnessed, those words feel painfully ironic. The camera was supposed to give us peace of mind. Instead, we spent our vacation watching our dog alone in his room for hours through Canine Clubhouse's own camera system. We've preserved the complete camera footage from his stay and stand behind every statement in this review. If Canine Clubhouse believes our account is inaccurate, we welcome them to share the relevant footage or any other evidence publicly. We genuinely hope no other family has to experience what we--and more importantly, our dog--went through.
