During these visits I am ok with the doc only spending 5-10 minutes with me. Healing: when I DO have an issue (I went to Dr. Andersen for the first time with a lower back pain), I need more help...more stretching, therapy, and manipulations. During these visits I want the doc to spend as much time with me as necessary to fix me. Dr. Andersen delivers on what I need. Most chiropractors seem to have the gadgets and tools, and the knowledge, but what sets Dr. Andersen apart is his willingness to listen and tailor the treatment to what your body needs, not what will get you in and out the door to see the next patient. My therapist is Emily Beck and she is wonderful! I love working with Emily. For me, she is a perfect fit and I think I have progressed a lot since I began seeing her. I still have a ways to go but I'm confident in her ability to help me. But I literally drive down from Chicago a couple times a year to have an adjustment because after almost 20 years in Chicago I still haven't found someone as good as Dr. Melby. My take is that his appointments are super short not just to maximize profits but to see as many people as possible - help as many as possible - while still maintaining an incredible work/life balance for his family. Dr. Melby and his staff were kind and incredibly patient with her, as she is typically very timid in a healthcare setting. We decided on a treatment plan after discussing options and my daughter has since completed her treatment plan and will go to appointments on a more "as needed" basis. Over the course of her treatment, my daughter became very comfortable in the office and we have noticed changes in her stability of movement among other things since being adjusted. While my daughter was starting her treatment plan, I decided that I wanted to get evaluated, as well, to see if Dr. Melby could help with chronic pain I suffered with in my neck and back. I am currently still working through the treatment plan Dr. Melby put together for me. However, I have felt like a completely different person since being adjusted. My pain is much more minimal, almost to the point of being completely absent at most times. All of that being said, Dr. Melby and his staff are absolutely amazing and very personable. Claire is a great listener focusing on the areas needing immediate attention, while providing as much overall healing and care as possible during our sessions. Claire's work space is warm, comfortable, clean, quiet, and safe, making it easy to relax and surrender to her healing touch. I have had a number of massages over the past few years that were pleasant and satisfying. None of them come anywhere close to the level of care and attention I get from Claire. Not only is she an excellent therapist and practitioner on her own, she encourages me to talk with my physician and physical therapist about our sessions so she can coordinate her therapy with the treatments and care I'm receiving from my physician and PT as well. I was also having collapses that were in part due to my neck position in my posture. Claire worked on my shoulder and chest with her firm touch and also stretched my shoulder and arm out. Now I can raise my hand well above my shoulder. In doing this, she corrected my neck position also. I am no longer having collapses. I have been a client of Claire's for about a year.
