They support the children in learning how to communicate with each other in addition to teaching beyond educational standards in arithmetic, writing language science and so on. My children left Montessori and felt that the public schools were not able to keep pace with what they learned through these programs. They have both expressed that their public school experience is socially disappointing because the students are often unkind and treat each other with disrespect. While my children were encouraged to help peers there public student peers are often concerned with shaming and putting peers who are different than themselves down. Fox Valley Montessori taught my children that learning is fun, that curiosity is a value. My children learned to be respectful, they learned how to manage their work and it is serving them quite well in high school as they manage their time for finals and AP classes. This is not a traditional school, it is so much more, this school teaches your child what community is. Their Montessori education has prepared them far better than I could have imagined and I cannot recommend this school enough.

No fluffy pretense, just straightforward and positive attitudes across the board. Effective leadership + excellent teachers = outstanding program. Despite all this, we were nervous our first few weeks as we were leaving our nearly 2-year-old son with strangers for the first time. We called on the first day and Paul (owner) answered the phone and put us at ease. He offered to walk down and take a look for us, and said that our son was playing - laughing, even. He said to call whenever we were concerned. We did, and each time our boy was either having fun or napping. (Incredible!) Once, getting the feeling that maybe Paul was exaggerating a little to make us feel better, I came early to pick up our boy. It was no exaggeration - he was having a ball. I received a call from an employee giving me the answer to a question I called about last week and also letting me know that I owed over $400 for my child's preschool that was supposed to be set up for automatic withdrawal starting in September 2017. I paid the fee of the $75 back in August and thats when it was "set up" from my understanding. Just got the call yesterday that I owe all of this money at the absolute worst time of the year. I do not look at my bank statement for things that should be automatic because thats why we set them up for automatic withdrawal in the first place right? Well nonetheless, I am disappointed at the park district for their carelessness of my credit card information and also waiting for 4 months to let a single mother know that she owes a large sum of money. I will not be signing up for any other programs regarding Fox Valley Park District and unless you want your payments or information just floating around in mid air, you should do the same.

We switched to Children's Courtyard after experiencing not so great changes at our previous daycare…read more- because of those things, I was nervous and worried and concerned and all of the things. However, after touring CCY, meeting both the director and assistant director, and interacting with the teachers, I am so happy we made the switch. My child has learned so much, loves his teachers and his days in care, and while it was a rough transition (due to his age, not the facility), everyone at CCY helped us both through the process. Having issues arise at our last place wasn't ideal, but I almost see that as a silver lining, as it lead us to Children's Courtyard. Also, while it isn't a requirement for good care, the app they have is so great! You get lots of updates, its easy to communicate with staff, and you're able to change your info and make payments yourself through the app or website. It's been SO NICE to be able to do that myself, instead of having to call in somewhere. Very user friendly, and customer focused.
