DeKalb is too close to be considered a road trip if you are headed to NIU but it is also too far to go for anything that is not extremely important. State gymnastics is important so I had to make the trek out west. This is a nice new facility that is, in my opinion, in the middle of nowhere. Supposedly this is a relatively new school that was made to accommodate the growing population in this area. Again, I don't understand who lives out here but I guess whatever floats your boat. The field house had 22 basketball hoops with several scoreboards and new speaker system in the viaducts. There is a separate gym just across from the field house where I imagine they host their varsity sporting events.

It is really a full circle thing for me as this school was the home to my 1st internet experience & the place I registered my 1st e-mail address that I still use today. All of that aside; This review is not for the educational factor it self as much as on the particular visit I was in the auditorium for a viewing of Wild Bill a one man show done by Walt Willey (All My children & a hometown guy who actually attended school here as well) The auditorium is now air conditioned and has been updated very well since my time here. The seats are rowed and numbered, the stage is fantastic, the only and only issue is that there is no true concession. If you ever see a ticket and OTHS is the venue you will not be disappointed fantastic parking and a nice down town loaction,

I went to James B. Conant High School for a congressional debate tournament. The modern looking…read morelibrary served as great place to host the coaches and judges. The classrooms were all different, set up to serve different teachers and classes. Some classrooms still had chalkboards. The cafeteria worked great to serve as a student lounge and hold lunch. James B. Conant High School is a great school Academically and shows great ccommitment to its athletics and activities. I highly recommend James B. Conant High School!

It just has a really nice feeling no matter if it's A Sporting event or a school class exhibit of some kind. All of our kids have attended Conant and We're Very happy of their out come and how Conant helped make them become better people. Thru the years , we've seen a change in the different kinds of Nationalities, even religions And it's still the same school ... It's credit obviously must go to the Conant staff But also the Parents.

I don't know if they assign numbers based on the number of students, with #1 having the fewest, but it sure was a small school. It has naturally gone downhill since I graduated, but LHS in the late 80's/early-90's kicked ass. Well, at least the girls' athletic program did. We dominated most sports during that time. We had the best coaches and a cool administration. I will always miss James P. Doolin who was, without a doubt, the coolest Principal ever. Did your principal ever dress up as Bozo the Clown to help raise money for some random cause? He was always in a good mood, joking and kidding with the students. From what I'm told, the school is overrun with whiny kids whose parents come running to their defense at every turn. They don't even have enough kids to support a real sports program. It's really sad and embarrassing. Although, I suppose it's like that everywhere these days. Even so, Go Panthers!

Totally renovated and nothing like my high school in NYC (more prison less school but I digress). In addition to the exterior the interior is renovated as well. Lots of caring dedicated teacher type people and the support staff rock. Loads of AP classes for the cerebrally inclined and sports opportunities up the wazoo. All this and loads of yellow busses. All all of that up and you have a special place. Rock on badger high. Rock on.
