Add us to that list. There really was no comparison with other options in the area after meeting with Paul (owner) and Linda (previous director) and a few of the teachers. No fluffy pretense, just straightforward and positive attitudes across the board. Effective leadership + excellent teachers = outstanding program. Despite all this, we were nervous our first few weeks as we were leaving our nearly 2-year-old son with strangers for the first time. We called on the first day and Paul (owner) answered the phone and put us at ease. He offered to walk down and take a look for us, and said that our son was playing - laughing, even. He said to call whenever we were concerned. We did, and each time our boy was either having fun or napping. (Incredible!) Once, getting the feeling that maybe Paul was exaggerating a little to make us feel better, I came early to pick up our boy. It was no exaggeration - he was having a ball. The claim that there is a "zero-tolerance policy" and that all children are consistently kept in a safe and nurturing environment does not align with my child's experience or the outcome of the investigation. Policies are only meaningful when they are properly enforced, and in this instance, there was a clear failure to uphold the standards that are being publicly promoted. I find it deeply concerning that the response avoids accountability and instead attempts to deflect by not addressing key details. As a parent, I trusted this facility with my child's safety, and that trust was compromised. The fact that this resulted in a documented DCFS violation speaks for itself. I am sharing this not to engage in conflict, but to ensure transparency and to emphasize that this situation was real, serious, and formally recognized by the appropriate authorities. They have always been so accommodating and communicate whenever there's an issue or concern. I love seeing how much my son has learned and give all the credit to the staff. We went and visited all the daycares in the area, and we just had such a good feeling about this place. Overall, an amazing daycare in St. Charles that I can't recommend enough!
