The environment is positive, friendly, open, caring, nurturing and fun. Our children love the school and their teachers. The administration is hands-on, they listen very well and often incorporate feedback from the parents. The academics and faculty are top-notch. The teachers help students reach their full potential everyday. The facilities are outstanding and well maintained. The maintenance team works so hard to keep everything clean and in great condition. Wheaton Christian also has a very nice selection of programs and sports to ensure a rich experience inside and outside the classroom. Once middle school starts, the environment shift's drastically. I have also learned most teachers here aren't qualified. Parkview teaches their own perspective of what a Christian should be, and quite frankly, that is very unprofessional. The lower campus is growing mold, the upper campus sells expired sodas, chips, and other treats. Last year was parkviews downfall after they hired a principle by the name of Kerri mccastland. The principle only showed up about 5 times a month, if that. The days she would show up, she would yell at students at a voice not even a mother could scream at her child with, and the way she would try and "resolve" problems was very inappropriate for a principal. She would bring the student into the office and talk to them in a tone so unprofessional, it was as if the student was talking to their peers. At the end of the discussion, there was no discipline, it was as if she just wanted to yell at them with the student getting no point across, just getting yelled at. When students tried reporting something, instead of resolving it, it would be a one sided argument. They're was a front desk employee named Mary Ellen West, she was always gossiping with the principle, locked in the office, and often times students would sit in the lobby, waiting for them to finish gossiping. They took good care of my family and the other two families that had parental deaths when I attended here. The teachers were great here I learned a lot. I was scoring in the high 90th percentile sin everything on every test I took after I left here. I owe them big time for that. They challenged me. I was in town the day the church burned...I saw it all smoky and crispy. Sad, sad, sad. I had my first communion here too. My mother, two classmate's parents and my great-grandmother's funerals were here. I was an alter girl too when I was a kid. I used to run around the church after school. This is the place that put the fear of G-d in me and keeps me agnostic rather then atheist as I go through that whole "I'm an adult - know what" thing. The spiritual education I got here kept me on a fairly straight path most of my life... The new church is AMAZING, huge and endless. They tore down the rectory and the convent and now have what I think is the largest and most beautiful community faith centers I have ever seen.

My kids went to school here for 5 years and they loved it however, my sons 4th grade teacher jams too much into their brains. Morning work and a severe amount of homework a day. So because my son had issues with this, and because he has adhd, they didn't want to deal with him. I know this, because they told me my daughter could still come back and finish 8th grade. I was baptized at Immanuel. Married. And my kids were baptized here. I can not believe the school hurt me and my children this way.

The music program is excellent in all areas, choir, orchestra and band... the athletic opportunities are strong (although if you are a casual player, you may not make Varsity or JV)... the clubs can sometimes fill up too much and they have to have try-outs. There…read morehas been consistent improvements over the last few years in regards to how the school is ran and most importantly the educational values. Through easy research, I have found out that ACS is rated just as high academically as any private school in the area and more than most public schools. They have a 100% graduation rate and college acceptance (as well as those that decide to serve our country or by joining the trades). No school is perfect, but knowing that if there is any concern my children have, they can go to the any of the staff and can feel comfortable discussing their issues. Being able to pray with the students and have Christian values inner-twined with the education is what is most important to our family.

I guess Bethany pays a lot of money to be a part of their Lutheran organization. So it wasn't worth pursuing action against them. Unfortunately. Somebody really does need to put them in their place so they put all children at the forefront of their teaching mission but unfortunately they play favorites.
