I have been looking for a basket although now that my front tyre has punctured getting that fixed should be my priority. Anyway Cheeky Bikes has great baskets and their prices are really reasonable (I can get exactly what I need for $25 and it is a steel mesh basket). They also have some clever innovative items like a takeout basket, which comes with an insulated cooler bag all for $90 (very reasonable). Also Cheeky Transport offers hand built bikes made by the store's owner, they look great, if you are a serious cyclist or want a really stylish bike, they are an excellent option. And they sell a whole range of cargo bikes. The shop has all the bike accessories one could want and the staff are friendly and helpful, this may be the best bike shop I've seen yet.

These guys are really into the no-nonsense riding. They've got heaps of different bikes for commuting, casual riding around, touring, cargo, you name it. They're not the place to go for a $10,000 carbon racer, but they're great for everyone else! In fact, if you're after a cargo/touring bike or related accessories, I haven't found anywhere else in Sydney that actually keeps stock of such things like Omafiets. They do all the usual things bike shops do (repairs, maintenance and all the everyday accessories), but also they do bike hire which is pretty cool, so if you're after a touring bike just for the week/end, or a cargo bike to move something a little big for your regular commuter it's a great way to try something new out.

I had my hybrid bicycle taken in for maintenance and the mechanic did a phenomenal job. While the mechanics at Inner City Cycles are very talented and professional, the customer service in the front the shop is appalling. I came back a week after having my bike repaired just to pump a flat tire. When I asked if this could be done, I was rudely directed to pump it myself. Just as I was leaving the store, I was unexpectedly stopped by an employee and charged $5. I pumped MY OWN tire with AIR and was charged for this? I found this unacceptable, especially since I had that same bicycle repaired at the store a week earlier. It's unfortunate that the excellent mechanical service isn't reflected in the customer service.

They even attached the lights we bought for us. The staff was knowledgeable about local bike laws (which we don't know because we are American) and seemed pretty chatty and friendly. Reebok, Asics, Londsdale etc. The shoes are the main attraction, you can get Mizuno for almost $100 off, ASICS the same and there are many other brands too. They may not be the most stylish or cool of the range but they still do the trick. I had a pair of ASCIS for 3 years. And I work out a lot, so for $200 it is not so bad, if you do get a lot of wear out of them. I bought a pair of Mizuno I really liked the arch support and they have moulded to my feel. A really good pair of shoes and I know they will last me for awhile. I placed them on layby and didn't pick them up till about 2 mths after and they were fine with that. I didn't get any nasty notices or phone calls so that was great.
