I looked up their number and texted Adam to see if I could get my bike serviced the following day. He got right back to me and I was booked in without any problems. I rode in and he arrived to open the shop right on 8am. A full service including parts cost just shy of 100 bucks and was done by lunchtime. Before replacing a few parts that cost a few bucks Adam even called to confirm that I wanted that done. Then when I picked the bike up he had all the old parts tied to the bike in a bag so that I could see what had been replaced, how worn out it was, etc. Apparently he also services strollers and wheelchairs as well. Really nice guy and an excellent service - I'll be back for sure.

Velocipede gets that & is precisely what a modern bike shop should aim to be. They stock a variety of bikes, clothes, accessories etc & take the extra time to help make sure you get exactly whats best for you & your riding matching you to the right style & fit & then helping with the set up & tutorial. They have a workshop with some of the best mechanics you'll find for any style of bike & the cafe sells great coffee & snacks that are perfect after or ride or even when just browsing. There is bigger stores around but the service is best around & that makes all the difference.

I went to this bike shop to get myself a kickstand for my bike (a bmx which i only ride casually)…read moreand asked for a suitable kickstand. The person working there at the time i visited showed me the kickstands they had available. I then chose my item and then the person showed me how to install it onto my bike by using one of the bmxs they had on display. But instead of explaining clearly he simply stuck the kickstand onto the bottom of the bike without any real maintenance and told me to do the same thing to by bike like he did to the display bike. I got confused and told him that i was unsure and i showed him a picture of my bmx and so i showed him the picture and he confirmed that the kickstand was compatible. I then proceeded to purchase the item and went home to install the kickstand but it turns out that the kickstand required an additional part which was a plate that secured the stand on the other side. I called the shop and asked the same person who served me at the shop if the plate came with the kickstand but the person said that the plate would've been on the bike already. I was furious after that because he did not mention any plate whatsoever and did not check to see if the bmx in the picture i showed him already had the plate. I then asked him if the plate could be bought separately and the person over the phone said no and he thought that the plate was already on the bike even if the picture i showed him clearly did not have a plate. I then proceeded to ask the person why they did not check if the bmx in the picture had a plate or not but the person asked if we could bring the kickstand and my bike over to the shop. I told him that i could not bring my bike because i live a very long way from parramatta and the bike did not fit in the car but the person proceeded and told me that they expect customers to always bring their bikes into the shop. This was outraging for me because people cannot always bring their bikes to the shop whenever they shopped there. So the four main problems that has occurred at the shop was that first he did not mention any kind of plate and did not ask me about it, second was that he did not properly demonstrate the installation process of the kickstand, third is that he did not check if the picture i had shown him had a plate and fourth was that he expected customers to always bring their bikes to the shop. I had wasted my time at the shop and i did not appriciate their level of service. I do not recommend this bike shop
