My neighbor told me about two maids cleaning service as she has used them a few times when her apt needed a good cleaning and now I need them as my apt is empty after my tenant moved out . Personally I ain't cleaning zero and before I rent out my place to a new tenant , I want a top notch scrubbing of every nook and cranny of my place . Call them on Monday and Tuesday 2 ladies were inside doing the job . Rates are reasonable and from my inspection, very good job indeed. Place looks and smell nice and I bet all the germs are gone if there was any germs which I assume is normal . Now I can show the apt to potential new tenants . Here are the pros of my experience: the two cleaners arrived on time and with their own cleaning supplies. They also called me when they were done (after an hour and 20 minutes) to ask if they should wait for me to come back to visually inspect the work they did. Having hired many cleaning services in the past in Manhattan, I didn't think it was necessary. Here are the cons: They left the bathroom sink with toothpaste residue, dust on the base of a floor fan, left a table fan and noise machine running, and did not clean 1 of 4 burners (see attached). However, since I keep a tidy apartment my issue was not so much with their oversights, because it really seemed like they were in a huge rush. I attribute that to having a packed cleaning day at other residences, and I don't think they have control of that. My issue is with Christa, the owner/manager. Her manner over the phone and e-mail is lacking, and looking over her responses to people here on Yelp, it seems like it's not new. Instead of establishing a connection initially, she was officious and said I should temper my expectations because I scheduled a monthly clean, not a deep clean (this was because I asked about baseboards and vents being cleaned, and stated those were my priorities). When I emailed her my concerns she focused on excuses for the work not being to par, such as "The burner you showed in the picture looks very well used and would need stronger products that come with our deep clean and more time which comes with our deep clean. Even with those products and time, we would not be able to make it brand new." The pictures I have attached are of one burner that was cleaned and the other left filthy. Both burners had the same level of use and baked in oil and stains. However, rather than apologizing for the oversight by her staff, she chose instead to imply that I'd simply not invested enough money. I want to support local businesses rather than turn to the Manhattan services I've had in the past. However, cleaning services must be booming, because they don't seem to care very much that they've lost my business and I'd advise friends and family from turning to them as well. Note - owner called me as soon as she saw my review on Google Maps to tell me the team didn't see any glasses, and then I was asked how old the glasses were. I changed that review from two stars to one based on how the owner handled the situation. --- Cleaning was adequate, even if they moved the couch to unplug wires but then didn't clean under the couch they moved. But, there was damage. The problem was that they damaged a pair of eyeglasses by placing them lens-down on a shelf after dusting under them, then putting other things on top of them and pushing them to the back of the shelf, and the response from the company was "The team does not remember touching or moving them." So much for trusting that any damages will at least be acknowledged. Will not use this company again if they won't own up to mistakes. read more

We had a team of three clean come to clean, two floors of the house. We found that that after cleaning they were many spaces that were not touched. They sent somebody later to clean those places that I mentioned. That night I found even more places that that were not clean. I sent pictures and videos to the owner. I got a message saying:why are you sending us photos and videos. 24 hour guarantee was up and they couldn't do anything more. As a customer I do not think I have to keep an eye on the crew that comes, you have to complete the job you were hired for. Also they broke one of the glass shelves in our Fresca vanity. read more

They come with their own equipment so the slime came from their own cleansers. My glass table was greasy & disgusting, as was my entire stainless steel kitchen. Very disappointed with this service (especially for the price I paid.) I couldn't believe they didn't clean obvious parts of my house - the coffee table (until I asked.) the ceiling fan, and under the couch. Looks like I'm not the only one that feels this way. We had just moved into a new house and it needed a complete cleaning (new to us; it's quite old and "lived in"). Two lovely ladies from Two Maids and Mop arrived and scrubbed our place from top to bottom. They were incredibly thorough. At one point I walked into the kitchen and one woman was on a ladder scrubbing the hood of the stove, and the other was going to town on the interior of the fridge. The cleaned cabinets. They cleaned closets. They cleaned windows and blinds and floors and tile. The place is now spotless. I have high standards and I was very, very satisfied. The first thing on my to-do list once I sealed the deal on my co-op was to have it cleaned. It wasn't left in disarray, but it was empty for a while so there was a lot of dust and buildup everywhere. I figured before I started moving furniture in I would just have a service come in and clean it all so I can start with a (literally) clean slate. I didn't grow up in a household that had someone come in and clean, so I really wasn't an informed consumer in that regard. I researched other companies like Merry Maids and Molly Maids but their track record was spotty and their Yelp reviews were horrible. I actually found Two Maids by doing a Google search. What stood out was that their website was pretty thorough, and they had a cleaning service specific for moving into a new place. I decided to call and inquire. Two Maids is actually a franchise, they have a few locations throughout the country but the closest one in the NY metropolitan area is in White Plains. After going over the details and getting a quote from Christa (the operator of this specific franchise), I set up an appointment; two housekeepers met me at the specified time and they went to work. It took them about 3 to 3.5 hours to clean everything, and overall they were super thorough. Everything was spotless - they were friendly and really exceeded my expectations. I would definitely consider using Two Maids for any other cleaning matters I may need, and would have no qualms about recommending them to others. read more

I've lived in the area for about a year and a half and I am so sad I didn't call Two Maids as soon as we moved. We recently switched to Two Maids after a bad experience with another company and it has been life changing!! first of all, Christa, the owner, is super communicative and responsive. She emails the day before a cleaning as a reminder and an opportunity for any requests or changes. After the first 2 cleans my floors were slippery from the polish and she was easily able to suggest a fix that worked immediately the next time. I also love that we have the same cleaning crew each visit. Pam and Lexi are amazing and consistently go above and beyond to leave my house neat, sparkling clean and smelling incredible. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT use this company. Christa, the owner/manager, lacks in both customer service and common decency. As a recurring customer, on a biweekly schedule, she was not acommodating to changes in schedule (due to illness or other emergencies that arose). On the other hand, my cleaners almost NEVER came during the scheduled timeframe, which was always inconvenient for my schedule. That shows a lack of respect to the consumer that you do not hold yourselves accountable and to the same standards that you expect the customer to uphold. Furthermore, Christa's nasty attitude, lack of communication, and privileged attitude, were upfront and foremost in every interaction that I had with her. She would benefit from better processes, policies, implicit bias, and management training. The cleaners themselves were subpar, often missing very noticeable things such as dirt on the toilet bowl, hair in the shower drain, etc. The cleaners also shared that Christa lacks integrity and empathy as a leader/manager. Their deep cleaning was a bad surface clean and to top it off they missed an entire floor. I do not recommend this company. They say the third time's a charm. That was not the case with two maids in a mop! The first time I hired the service, they arrived 2 1/2 hours late. I did not get an explanation nor did I get any type of an apology. I had plans, and I had to change them, as a result. The second time I hired this service, they broke something in my bathroom.. The third time they came, they left one of my windows full of streaks. But the worst of it was the bathroom floor: As is customary, I keep toilet a plunger next to the toilet. These items are very light weight. One would assume that when you clean a bathroom floor, you would move them out of the way. The maids mopped AROUND these items. We have had Two Maids clean our two bed/two bath apartment, every two weeks, for a year now. They do a great job and are easy to work with. When we started the service, the owner visited the first time to have a look at the place herself so she could get a better idea of our cleaning needs. As with any recurring service, there have been times we have had to reschedule, and they have been very flexible in working to accommodate changes. First let me start by saying that Christa and the ladies she sent were all very pleasant. Christa responded to my emails quickly and the cleaning ladies she sent were hard working and friendly. The rating I've given is a reflection on the amount of time that was allotted to get the job done. I called this service in to deep clean the kitchen and one and a half bathrooms of a house I just purchased. When I spoke with Christa I explained that the house had been vacant for two years and need a thorough scrubbing from top to bottom, inside and out of everything. Two ladies arrived on time and split up to work on the kitchen and half bathroom. About an hour and forty-five minutes into the job they informed me that they had to leave in 15 minutes to make it to their next appt. At this point one of the ladies was about done with the kitchen but and the other had only been working on the full bath for about 15 min. F I had known I was going to only be allotted two hours, I would have requested and paid for more time. Needless to say I barely had time to look through the areas before they rushed out. When I walked through the rooms I noticed the pantry was not touched, it is still covered in dust and dirt, inside and out. The full bath was not as thoroughly cleaned as the half even though the vanity did not have to be cleaned since it is new. This is added to the fact that one of the ladies accidentally broke a glass shelf, my tiled toilet paper handle and a corner of the toilet tank cover. I assumed the latter two could be fixed, but they cannot and will have to be replaced. I can only assume this was as a result of rushing. Bottom line, be sure to ask how much time you will be allotted before booking. read more

The couch cushions were flipped w the zipper outward on BOTH of our couches, photos were completely out of order, one actually flipped backwards! Avoid like the plague! They charged over 80% more than the quoted price I agreed to, then Christa got really nasty when I addressed it with her and refused to return the difference. I had used their service periodically for over two years and an 80% price increase for the same cleaning without so much as mentioning it beforehand came as quite a shock. I'm a single mother and am on a tight budget and never would have agreed to it - she knew that, which is why she chose not to tell me and just charge my card she had on file. Very shady. Also, a while back she bribed me with a free cleaning if I'd leave a positive review on Facebook and Google, which I did. I'm sure I'm not the only one - in fact, most of the good reviews you see were probably incentive-based. The service they provide is no better or worse than other cleaning services - some of the women do a good job, some don't. Christa will send you the good ones at first, then once you sign up for regular cleanings she'll tell you they're not available. My reviews keep mysteriously disappearing - hope at least I save a few people some grief and money before this one does too! read more
