Enjoyed an early Valentine's Day dinner here which was a perfect venue for overtired parents of two babies on a weeknight. The setting is unfussy and comfortable, with slightly brighter lighting than you might expect. Service is friendly and responsive - it's not a big place in any case; when I asked about the origin of one of their proteins he quickly went to inquire w the chef. The menu is teeming with delicious sounding plates but we ultimately went with the Jerusalem artichokes and snails to start, then the stuffed duck and buttermilk fried chicken as mains with glasses of the Grenache and Bordeaux to wash it all down. We got quite the variety of flavours and they were all done right but the artichokes were a real standout - I could have eaten that alone all night and I would order it again in a heartbeat. We topped it off with the ice cream and were sufficiently stuffed by that point. All the food felt home cooked yet elevated, an achievement in balance that can't be overstated. Can't wait to return to try more (and also binge on the artichoke). Yum! read more
