West Coast Boil for 2 people
    Geoff Y.

Having spent a few Saturdays around Broadgate Circle, I'd noticed this place and looked up their menu. Finding two things that I really like the look of (Singapore Chili Crab and a West Coast Boil), I asked my parents if they wanted to go, as they were also fans of the abovementioned items. Booking a table on the weekend is easy. Broadgate Circle, being on the wrong side of Liverpool Street Station for most of the weekend traffic, is a quiet location on the weekend, and there was plenty of space. We elected to sit outside and ordered sparkling water and rose which were speedily served. Already knowing what we wanted, we placed our order with the waiter and relaxed in the shade. A short while later, Dan, the manager on the weekend, came to our table and asked us how we wanted our West Coast Boil, explaining that it was served fairly mild. Wanting it as they served it, we asked for some hot sauce on the side which he was happy to provide. The food turned up and it was plentiful! I'll load pictures with my review. The chili crab was a little spicy (could have used a little more kick) but the sauce itself was tasty and the crab cooked just right. It wasn't quite the Singaporean flavour we were looking for, but was a very good facsimile and to be honest, while the main crab was good, the star was the soft shell crab also cooked in the sauce. Normal chili crab is good but you tend to lose some of the chili when shelling the crab (and the sauce is always on the outside), being able to scoop up the crab and have it with the sauce is a good step forward! The West Coast Boil though, that was a treat. Lobster, crab, mussels, corn and a few potatoes for good measure. We wondered what we would get at £35 a head, but were nicely surprised at the amount received. With the exception of the mussels, everything was nicely cooked. The mussels themselves were just slightly over done, but difficult when boiling up everything together as must have been done. We polished everything off but weren't able to order anything else. The two (well 3 really) dishes were enough to feed 4 although we managed between the three of us, it was that good. Total damage, £128 including a 15% service charge, which we were happy to pay, the waiter and manager dropped in on us at semi regular intervals to top up drinks, take shells away and generally see how we were doing. Like I said before, Saturday/Sunday is a slow time for them as they do most of their business during the week when the City is operating. I haven't seen it on a weekday night, but I'm more than happy to go on the weekend if it leads to a nice leisurely meal! See you guys again!

Crab waffle, this was pretty decent.

The venue is well located and very spacious with an ambient and modern, speak-easy atmosphere. They have light music playing, but no rock band, just a simple mellow jazz vibe. and the staff are very helpful. As soon as I walked in, felt a very comfortable and relax, and the meal deal three courses for 22£, score. But unfortunately the food did not meet my expectation, don't mind paying for the price, being in the city and all, but the quality of food was average at best. It had the presentation and what I might call instagram-able, but nope - fell a few grades down. I had the waffle lobster, this was decent, but nothing special. The main course, lobster burger with chips... Bread although brioche, was obviously been a few days old and out of the packet, crumbled as I picked the burger. Lobster pattie, taste more like a normal fish cake. Chips was very ma-ma( new word for average). Desert the course I always look forward to, creme bulee, didn't finish it, that's all I got to say, which is saying a lot. Had hopes for this resturant, because if it went well, I would have said I know this great crab/ lobster restaurant in the city. But sorry that is left for some place else.

This rating might be a bit mean.... We went for a free cocktail with drinki and the drink just wasn't my thing... Sweet and coconuty.... Bluh but the food looked great and we could sit outside which was very nice!

Awesome! I tried the Whole Crab, which is enough for 2 people to get rid of hunger for the rest of the day!

So... Was rather excited having checked out the place online, however, found the food to be average and over priced. When the food arrived it looked great, but just lacked in taste and quality. For £110 for two people you would expect a little more for your buck. Service was ok, although it was a sunday and it was super quiet.

Pretty cool place in Broadgate circle - we went on a Froday evening when it was really full outside, stepping inside felt like stepping into another world because of the peace and quiet :) (don't choose a Friday evening if you want a quiet romantic date :D) Instead of a main we shared 5 starters, which worked really well for two people. Crab platter with crab tacos (!) is amazing, it was just all missing that final "oomph" for a 5 star review :)

I am thoroughly convinced that the freshest seafood in London can be found on Broadgate Circle, in the center of the dining hub.

When in London…read more... Anytime I visit the UK, one of my must haves is good old fashioned fish and chips. While at my hotel, I searched my trusty Yelp which brought me to Hoxton Fish House. I didn't have to look at the menu at the counter - I simply said "fish and chips" please. I took a seat outside and waited for my delectables to arrive. The time seemed like plank/burpee minutes, but in reality the food came out relatively quick. When I took my first bite / it was mission accomplished. Each bite was all I wanted and more. The fish and chips were fabulous - I ended up unable to finish due to the size of the meal. The atmosphere was pretty laid back and sitting outside was somewhat relaxing. If you're anywhere in the area, I highly recommend this place!

The interior is quaint, very quiet but the staff was friendly. I ordered the tradition Fried Cod with a side of chips. Although it didn't come in a newspaper like my friend and I were told that the best fish and chips came in. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! You may be thinking...what about the tartar? Well, I'm here to tell you that you also get a side of tartar. Order two if you can, it did just the trick to pair along with the fish. The cod was fresh, as well as the chips. Highly recommend that you stop by if you find yourself in the Hoxton neighborhood.

I went in 2 different times: saturday at 3pm and wednesday at 10am. Two completely different vibes. I was a bit scared to get this since i was by myself but let me tell you, it was not heavy as i expected it to be. Just delicious overall and would totally recommend. Chocolate strawberries: I love strawberries and chocolate but definitely think you can find cheaper alternatives anywhere in london. Bread Ahead: my new favorite pastry place. I pretty much got a donut from this place (not this location) everyday because the black currant cheesecake donut was that good. I got the tiramisu and crème brûlée donut which my brother liked and i wish i could've tasted them before they went bad but anyways, I would totally recommend the donuts from here! Their chocolate chips cookies are HUGE and delicious as well. This was probably one of my favorite markets!

Overall an enjoyable dinner at a reasonable price (for London).

I had…read moreread about this restaurant in some top 10 lists for foodies visiting London and was dying to check it out. First, it's not in the busy part of London where you would expect a restaurant of this caliber to be but rather it is in a very blue-collar neighborhood on the south side of London. It is a VERY cozy place with only seven tables but that is how they keep the quality and experience so great. The decor is as if you are on an old fishing ship. Reservations are highly recommended but we got there right when they opened (7pm) and thankfully they let us have a table. After being seated the hostess showed us the days specials and they ranged from fantastic scallops to lobster with every choice as good as the last. My wife and I chose the Chef's Choice 8 course dinner. The dinner comprised of a delicious sardine sandwich followed by a fillet of night perch which was then followed by lobster that melted in your mouth. Then we had a pallet cleanser of a light peach sorbet with a shot of vodka poured over it. The meal resumed with a grilled piece of pork belly (I got the "meat" choice) while my wife had a grilled hallibut (she got the "fish" choice). The next course was a warmed cheese (I believe it was gruyere) in pastry accompanied by a small mixed green salad with aged balsamic. The dessert courses were a delicious crepe with creme bruille filling and the end course was a pear puree along with a chocolate pudding with a hint of mint. We loved this place even though the name sort of threw us off at first. When you hear "The Lobster Pot" I imagine a bunch of seniors getting off a day-tour bus to a casino at a truck stop or something but this experience was far from what I first imagined. I would highly recommend spending some of your tourist dollars here at this restaurant.

I loved being bibbed up too, I like knowing things are gonna get messy. The Meli, a melee of seafood; half lobster, sea bass, spicy grilled perch, razor clam (touch over done), squid kebab (could've been flavoured more) but all in a sea of buttery champagne and avruga sauce. No tide could hold me back from wanting to lick my plate or use this as a moisturiser, oh my golly so delicious. It came served with enough perfectly cooked veg that my mother would approve of too.
