Hayes Home Improvement replaced two windows for me. They were fairly communicative but it took a…read moremonth from the original start date to get the job done. Which I understand in construction things don't always go according to plan. The delay isn't much of an issue. The real issue is the quality of the job. They originally told me the job would take 3-5 days. They finished in one day. Unfortunately due to the month long delay I wasn't here during the installation. I am so disappointed in the quality of workmanship. They broke the window trim removing it and just put the broken pieces back up. I understand that they planned on using the original trim but you always have to either be extremely careful or plan on breaking some and incorporate that into the cost. There are dark spots on the trim that looks like they were sort of painted over. There is a hole in my wall beside the window. There are black spots on my wall that appear to be scrapes. The drywall is torn around the window. The caulking and/or putty around the inside of the window is atrocious. The outside trim wasn't even cut correctly. When I requested that to be fixed they did redo it. Now one side looks alright the other is not. They left a big mess around the windows inside. The one window was left open and unlocked even though they knew I was out of town. I did see some of these issues in pictures that were sent to me and when I asked about these problems, they said if I paid for the supplies they would fix the issues. I said I would fix them myself and they gave me $100 off the cost. So I suppose that is something. I feel like the job was rushed therefore the subpar work.

Later while I was at work he says the job is done. I come home and pay him $200 for the work. Well my house is 3 stories and you can't see the top of the chimney from the ground. Later I have a leak around the chimney in the house. I call him to see if he can come over and seal around the chimney, he says sure have to get my ladders. Well I wait and wait never hear from him again so I call another person and they get up there. I ask them to take pics of the chimney for me. Find out CW (Charles) didn't put anything on top of the chimney to seal it off or take the bricks down! He's not an honest person so don't hire him for anything !

Since it wasn't an emergency, I decided not to pay the weekend rate. He showed up on time Monday and tried to snake the clog loose. After quite a bit of effort, he decided it would be best to replace a pipe, which he did the next day since it was getting late. He replaced the pipe quickly and did a great job cleaning up afterwards. He also was very reasonable with his price. I then showed him a leaky toilet, and he gave me an estimate. I didn't anticipate it getting worse so soon, so I called him a couple days later and he got fixed quickly and quite reasonably!

I understand they do free quotes but my husband had to take part of a day off for the roofer to come to the house so now he has to take time off to have a different company do an estimate. I do not recommend this company, they just waste your time if your repairs are small.
