This gem has been greatly needed in an area with a growing demographic of babies and new parents. I've taken my son to the following classes: Babies in motion, Gym babies, and Musical Tots. We also go to open play about twice a week. What's great is that you get a large number of open plays when you sign up for a class. You sign up for a weekly class (or two different ones if you'd like), and they're very accommodating with makeups if your baby happens to nap at your schedule time, so it's money well spent. They have all kinds of props and gym structures, as well as trampolines and musical instruments. Having rambunctious babies and toddlers cooped up in the apartment during this cold weather isn't great-so this place is definitely meeting a need. Mike and Chanelle who do musical tots are truly exceptional- high energy and extremely talented musician and singers. We have Kristen for our regular gym class and she's great, my son really likes her. Truth be told not all staff are top notch but none are bad. The differences are more pronounced when going to open play depending on who the assigned staff member is- some will take out different toys and props, some won't or barely will. The main reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that they've been taking a long time to cover up the metal spokes that stick out of the bars-not safe for little ones and this issue has been brought up to them several times since they opened in Sept. Other than that, we're very happy campers. Oh and if you have a child who's 2.5 yrs or above, take advantage of their pajama parties! I wish we could.

I tried to push through but was then checkin in by the horrible staff member who didnt end smile. Didnt even tell me the total when paying for my two children = $23 + $18 = $41 nor have a receipt. I was told it would be emailed, but never got that either. The cost came with an open room with worn down items, broken toys, no coffee station (even though there is a sign), and not even a stocked bathroom. Toys were bent, old, overly used and wearing off. Even the bins from IKEA were falling apart.. IKEA items should be easily replaced as they are cheap. The facilities was worn down as well, paint chipped or peels off on seating area and slides. Mural is still nice. The "cafe" area seating was pushed to the wall, not allowing a place to sit while the worker was putting streamers on a board for the private room. There is no water fountain to refill your water bottle. Again, advertised coffee and tea.. when asked was told "nothing, you can go to starbucks" as I pointed to the sign the worker said "OH"! I had to give the front desk girl broken items and she left in the lobby area!! I can see her just putting them back in after we leave in order not to deal with it. As a representative of the space, she was horribly spaced out with a negative demeanor as if she hates her job. Private room for classes and parties is cute... I believe this is where their energy goes to. I can see it good for a 1 year bday party. Ages 2 and over for open play with bore out fast. I reflect constently on how truly disappointing it was!!

Right inside the door there's a stroller parking area, which was quite crowded but we made it work. The class was full of moms, dads, other nannies, and tons of kiddos mostly ages 1.5-4. The music teacher was really charming with the kids, had lots of songs prepared, and boxes of instruments with easy rhythm games, and ways to get adults involved as well. We had a blast! There's a fairly large playroom outside of the classroom that has soft jungle gym toys, a big wooden play kitchen, lots of pretend food, balls, a huge safe space to play. I also noticed lots of cleaner nearby, which was a relief, I bet a place like that gets a lot of germs real quick. The parents of my little charge told me that I can always take him there, especially on a rainy day, its only $10 for the whole day.

He's done classes for 3 years now, summer camp, and some clinics or day camps. His different coaches (Tony, Jackie, DJ and Tyler) have always been supportive - so, special thanks to them ! We're very excited for him to move up to Jaguars in the Fall. We let him choose every single session if he wants to continue, and he has never hesitated to say yes. I have also done the baby classes with my youngest and it was really sweet and fun (coach Maria era!). I can't wait for my daughter to be old enough to join back in Saturday classes, as these start at 3. Signup can be a bit stressful as there are more families interested than spots, especially on Saturdays, but we've succeeded every year since we wanted to enroll, by being quick and efficient at Registration start time. It also gets easier as the kids grow up. And of course, the registration priority during the year is key, making it smooth and easy 2/3 of the time. During camps, the recent addition of aftercare until 5 pm has been a nice option. They're very responsive in case of anything needed. Last but not least, I particularly like their inclusiveness and positive messages, it's great to expose our kids to these early on and I'm glad they do that. Long live Industry and Natalie :)

They put our toddler out of care that's for one. Lucky enough we found a back up care quickly and the baby is doing wonderful there. We are paying for the two weeks twice basically. This business has been contacted twice and claimed refund has been sent to us. We yet to see it. The business owner please contact me ASAP to provide transaction details on when, how much and which account the refund has been sent to. Aside from administrative and billing issue, the quality of the care and education this business provides is highly doubtful. Our toddler was potty trained, and as every 2.5 year old, he has accidents. He was potty shamed at ny kids club Lic and started asking to wear diapers all day long. The caregiver made him feel deeply ashamed for wetting his pants or bed. Myself and another mommy in my building, who ended up pulling her baby out of this school, both have observed the teachers scold kids for no obvious reasons, or being very cold to the kids, or even saying things like, crying in my classroom is not acceptable. If these people are not into having a career in early education, please stop making money out of the kids and families.

This was their overall assessment: The staff is kind and friendly. They work hard to handle group dynamics and challenges but my kids described constant classroom management issues that were rarely resolved. This camp does not provide enough enrichment for older students (10 years old and up). Groups are organized by theme, not age band so there was a 3 - 4 year age span in the groups in which my daughters were placed. There is a big difference between abilities and interests in that span and most attention was given to supporting the younger students. My daughters expressed that they were bored and did not learn new skills. Finally, despite reaching out to the camp to express my concerns, I was informed that the students are encouraged to resolve issues on their own. They did not address my concern about the age span in each group. This camp may be wonderful for young students but is not equipped to handle middle school aged students.

Our family had a very disappointing experience at C'E Montessori…read more We initially loved the school and supported it wholeheartedly. I volunteered at events, helped with school shows, and even campaigned for two teachers to be hired. We believed in the community and tried to contribute meaningfully. But everything changed when we started voicing concerns. After my son began telling me about being punished by having recess taken away--a practice that goes against core Montessori principles--we brought it up with the director and later the owner. What followed was a series of evasions and dismissals. Recess continued to be withheld, despite their promises. We were also repeatedly told the school was bilingual in Spanish, but no actual Spanish instruction ever took place. We asked about this many times over the years, and while we kept being told a Spanish program was coming soon, it never materialized. Eventually, I shared my concerns publicly on the "North Brooklyn Education" Facebook group, after weeks of private conversations with the school went nowhere. That's when the bullying and personal attacks from other parents began. The reaction wasn't disagreement--it was shaming, piling on, and attempts to silence. On top of it all, we had to chase the school via multiple emails just to get $249 refunded that they owed us. That kind of treatment--from the school and the parent community--left us heartbroken and disillusioned. We hoped for a respectful, open-minded Montessori environment. What we found was the opposite.

Previously, she had been in another Montessori school in Manhattan -- one that is quite well regarded -- but the hands-on love, enrichment, and programming at C'E far surpassed the other. Within a few months of her attending we were blown away by the teachers, the learning-based curriculum that was mindful but also enriching, and the communication was unparalleled. There are also so many special touches - they offer piano, dance, etc. - and also encourage the students to do things like take care of their own plants, make their own food, and participate in school musicals, bake sales, and card making. I highly recommend C'E to any family, especially those that really want their child to get a unique head start in a loving environment.
