These kind of log rides no matter what name they are give are always fun and enjoyable   most people who don't like rollercoasters would enjoy these kinds of rides. As a kid on two separate occasions I found a toys of some sort that someone else dropped or forgotten in the boat.  I don't remember what the second toy was, but the first item I found on this ride was a switchblade knife made of plastic. I picked it up and cleaned it up with some napkins I had. I did a more thorough cleaning later on that day. I even found money in the boat too. It wasn't much, but $5 to $10 bucks was a lit to a kid back then. This ride is not a high level thrill ride. It is a laid back ride with two hills in it. One in the beginning to start the motion without the ocean. The second hill is at the end after the bend.  The rest of the trip is past a house, through the woods without grandma's house we go.   There is little to no chance of getting some water on you...except your backside when sit down in the boat. This ride us located in the woods just like my favorite rollercoaster  named The Grizzle...oh, for the record, it's not truly hidden in the woods anymore, but I will explain this later on. Shenandoah Log Flume  is a softcore ride for children who are becoming teens and teens who are becoming adults. Needless to say, this ride can help break you in... of course, I have seen people abandon ship at the top of the second hill. I have done it once just to see where the staff members go, when it's time for the changing of the guards. I had to abandon ship when the ride malfunctioned too. This was a disappointment, because I like this ride.  Shenandoah Log Flume is not the longest log ride I have been on, but is still fun. Splash Mountain (At Walt Disney World), Saw Mill Log Flume(At Six Flags Great Adventure), Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls (At Universal Studios) and Coal Cracker (At Hershey Park) are four fantastic log rides. There are other log rides out there, but you get the point.   A lady I know..wait,...no,....woman I know named Jasmine would have a blast on these rides. Why, because they are relaxing and the water rides are scenic.  Lady Jasmine of Canada would appreciate it. I look forwards to riding another one of these fantastic rides.

I would sit there some times impatiently waiting to get to the rides I could handle. Most of the time the lines went fast on the account of this ride being a ship. A number of people could fit on this ride. There is a place to put your personal belongings, but not everyone felt comfortable doing that. Even back then, King's Dominion is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Nevertheless, I remember people losing their pocket change on this ride all the time. If you want to get do you want to get technical and nasty, some people would spit or hocking loogies, while upside down. It would be timed so when one spits, the ship was on it's way down so someone would get hit by it. I have come close to getting hit by some one doing this. The person was lucky to get away from me. One of the last times I went on this ride, some one vomited and that kinda ended it for me. I wasn't hit be the vomit, but it ruined someone's morning. I don't know why I was a scaredy cat for a number of years as a kid, but I am glad I developed a stomach for this ride, because it is one of the better starter rides out there. This kiddie ride that I see parents and kids go on, suck. Once you experience The Berserker in all of its heavenly glory, there no going back to the cheap imitation versions of this ride.

The airtime hill gives mild floater as well. The switchbacks after the fill give crazy whip. But the trim on the airtime cuts it. Then there are two more switchbacks and then hits the brakes. Also, I like the soft straps, don't judge me. I'm sad it lost the Dale Earnhardt theme, but that doesn't matter. It's still a amazing ride that I would totally recommend for Coaster Enthusiasts.

I remember a ride that most of us adults went on that felt like a whirlpool. Maybe it was that whitewater one. We did get very wet! But mostly we focussed on the kids. The kids loved the Big Bad Wolf, the Grover Alpine Express, and for the youngest, Oscars Whirly Worms! The Wolf was a 40mph roller coaster for those over 42-in tall, not, we thought, for little kids. It was a sort of werewolf story-line. Grover was a favorite for the littler kids over 38-in tall, with several drops that were dramatic enough for them. Parents rode-along. Oscars was just for the littlest who can walk. Parents rode-along on this one, too. Some spinning. Some rocking. That's the experience we were after. Nice!

The pool is huge and the water slides very fun and efficient (wait times are short). I took my granddaughter for a weekend swim and we both had a great time. The water slides are the bomb, especially for a local pool that is not part of a theme park. The pool area is large and even on a weekend we had plenty of room to swim and horse around. They allow beach balls and small pool toys. The pool offers fun for all age kids - the baby pool has mushrooms and slides and there is even a mid size slide for kids too old for the baby pool but not ready for the big slides. All of the lifeguards we encountered were smiling and friendly. The snack bar has a wide variety of ice cream, drinks, and unhealthy fried foods (fries, Snickers, Twinkies) and service was fast and efficient. The inside eating area has lots of tables but is very dark. Now for the things that need improvement: Bathrooms are dingy and old, but not unclean. The party deck wood is old and I would worry about splinters. They have nice areas with tables and umbrellas to eat, but NO poolside chairs. Come on! For $20 weekend admission they should have chairs lining the pool area. The parking lot needs paving and spot markers, and the outside needs better signage to find the entrance. Even with all these negatives, I have to give 4 stars because my granddaughter had a wonderful time (she can't wait to go back) and the other patrons seemed to be having fun as well.

As soon as he noticed that she charged for our infant, Jennifer turned around and didn't acknowledge him after the transaction was made. As soon as our infant woke up, we all went in and requested a refund for charging our infant. She was not friendly at all and said, " I DID ASK FOR HEIGHT". She did give us a refund after we showed her that we actually did have an infant not 2 toddlers. The staff do not measure the kids. There is no sign or anything of 32 inches. The staff "eye balls" the height of children. Only giving two stars because the kids had fun. Besides that we will not be coming back. $20 is not worth going to a "family establishment " that isn't so friendly.

Dino Island 3D was shown from 1999-2000, Meteor Attack in 2000, and Superstition in 2000 and 2002. In 2001, the theme parks presented The 7th Portal (based on the web comic by Stan Lee) as a three-dimensional ride in which the riders help the Data Raiders fight the Nullifiers." All of this makes no difference to me except the names Days of Thunder and License Thrill. I know I rode Days Of Thunder many times despite how long the line could be. Still 1993 three the interactive seating was very cool and entertaining. It gave one the feeling of actually being in the movie without the danger. Funny how this happened in 1993, yet I remember it being earlier. This attract looked to be shut down last time I was there, but the memories will stay with me.

Life jackets are located throughout the park. There are several family water slides: Big Daddy Falls, Aquazoid Amped, and Malibu Pipeline were all rides we as a family with 36" and 48" tall children could experience together. My oldest and I liked the cutback water coaster a lot! Rock 'n Roll island is home to the lazy river, a large standard pool and an obstacle course. There is also a kiddie slide in this area along with 3 body slides for 48"+. My youngest enjoyed the cow-a-bunga play area and the couple of slides there. High tide harbor was also a hit: a multi level play structure with multiple kiddie slides. Hubba hubba highway was also a crowd-pleaser, think non-lazy river. We spent a lot of time in the wave pool too. No tubes but grab a life jacket and let the waves take over. We also had lunch and my youngest ate the whole cheeseburger she ordered and gave it two thumbs up. The dirt cups were also a favorite that the kids enjoyed. Definitely a fun waterpark, recommend a weekday visit if possible.

Then she told us "not to go past the sign" that was in between the empty kettle corn bar and the exit, so we didn't. We inched closer to the sign to get better connection but we couldn't get any. (Mind you we DID NOT cross the sign line) then the male security guard with a GREEN HEADBAND, yells at us, "You have been warned, if you go past the sign you will be trespassing and you will be arrested" when we had two seconds earlier stated the fact that we had just been trying to get WiFi. It's really disappointing to see this as a customer and someone who has worked at bush gardens before. After this btw, I was going to come back into the park as the lady had suggested to get the WiFi and when I did, they had purposely moved the metal detector line and I heard the lady say to the guy, "well if they don't wanna come through now, they can just cry about it" as well as I had to stand near the now obsolete metal detector (after they moved it) and I luckily got the WiFi signal. They purposely moved the no bag line to the bag line just because they didn't want me to go through and when I needed the connection and was trying to get the uber to get both of us home, they got on the radio and called the park sheriff as if I was doing something shady. (I'm black btw) I hope whatever is left of the park time you guys have left is better than this one we both experienced today. Pics of them down below

The room, although nice, complete with a fireplace (it's just for show-doesn't get warm) is SO INCREDIBLY DAMP!!. It's disgusting and it stinks like a musty old basement . called to the front desk and they had maintenance bring a commercial dehumidifier (see picture). It's been running for over 24 hours now and thank goodness the room has dried out. The smell still lingers but not as strong. The maintenance guy even said "oh my gosh this is terrible. I feel it and smell it, I'm so sorry!" I rented a cabana overnight and paid at the front desk in the morning. Went downstairs to Check In and was told "I'm sorry all the cabanas are full. Someone made a mistake and didn't reserve yours" I was pissed and my daughter was disappointed. We had a cabana yesterday and wanted another one today. The manager offered an apology and a "free game of bowling or whatever you want." I was also told "I will look into your reservation and see what kind of discount I can give you." Of course I got refunded for the cabana, but no reservation discount. What I wanted was the cabana I reserved and paid for. What I got was a round table, a few chairs, towels and a free locker rental. The gesture was nice but definitely not sufficient. Our table was placed in front of two empty cabanas, although they had someone's name on them by, 4:45 PM no one had showed up for either one. Somehow I doubt they came at 5 PM when the park closes at 8 PM. One of those could've been mine! The internet...it's horrible. Been here 3 days and have been able to access internet probably 2 or 3 times. I have work emails to answer and can't. See pic of the message I keep getting. I tried airplane mode on and off, tried rebooting my iPhone, tried "forgetting the network"...tried everything the front desk staff said to try. $1200 for 3 nights and I can't even access my work email on a regular basis. I was offered a $50 refund on my stay because of this. We'll see if that even shows up. The only way I'm even able to write this review at 1:45am as I lay here in bed, is because it miraculously connected for the moment I don't even care about the $50, I just need the Internet like I get at every hotel that I visit. I swear, it's just been one thing after another here. I cannot wait to get back home. As much as I want to like this GWL location I just don't. I'm really looking forward to visiting Kalahari in November when it opens. P.S. on another note, staff is very friendly and pleasant and the lifeguards do a great job constantly checking the pool for safety.
