When you have a toddler that loves the water, you HAVE to take them to great wolf lodge! We've been here twice now in the last year. The first time was just a day pass in the afternoon which is a great deal if you don't want to stay the night. And most recently we stayed the night and had a great time! We booked the kid cabin suite which can accommodate up to 7 people but I think realistically and comfortably, it would be 5. It comes with balcony access, a pull out sofa bed, a queen size bed, a bunk bed, a full size bed and one bathroom. The room is fairly spacious but could use either a bigger table and or an addition half bath at least to accommodate up to 7 people. This was great for us as we had 4 adults and one toddler. There are quite a few attractions here besides the water park. They have a pretty extensive arcade, glow in the dark putt, bowling, story time for kids, ropes course, laser tag and multiple restaurants! Obviously their main attraction is their huge indoor water park! They have things for babies to adults to try here! But I would say their main water attractions are geared more for small babies to middle schoolers. There are multiple water slides for all ages and there's a HUGE bucket of water that dumps about 1,000 gallons of water every 5 mins! Pretty cool! We added on the breakfast buffet for which I would highly recommend. This isn't your typical hotel breakfast! Their offerings were pretty vast and even included a MTO omelette station! If you want to entertain your kiddos, look no further than great wolf lodge for all your entertainment needs! Second time here because I wanted to give it another try. I'm disappointed yet again. The bed is so uncomfortable. The mattress is old and creaky. The room, although nice, complete with a fireplace (it's just for show-doesn't get warm) is SO INCREDIBLY DAMP!!. It's disgusting and it stinks like a musty old basement . called to the front desk and they had maintenance bring a commercial dehumidifier (see picture). It's been running for over 24 hours now and thank goodness the room has dried out. The smell still lingers but not as strong. The maintenance guy even said "oh my gosh this is terrible. I feel it and smell it, I'm so sorry!" I rented a cabana overnight and paid at the front desk in the morning. Went downstairs to Check In and was told "I'm sorry all the cabanas are full. Someone made a mistake and didn't reserve yours" I was pissed and my daughter was disappointed. We had a cabana yesterday and wanted another one today. The manager offered an apology and a "free game of bowling or whatever you want." I was also told "I will look into your reservation and see what kind of discount I can give you." Of course I got refunded for the cabana, but no reservation discount. What I wanted was the cabana I reserved and paid for. What I got was a round table, a few chairs, towels and a free locker rental. The gesture was nice but definitely not sufficient. Our table was placed in front of two empty cabanas, although they had someone's name on them by, 4:45 PM no one had showed up for either one. Somehow I doubt they came at 5 PM when the park closes at 8 PM. One of those could've been mine! The internet...it's horrible. Been here 3 days and have been able to access internet probably 2 or 3 times. I have work emails to answer and can't. See pic of the message I keep getting. I tried airplane mode on and off, tried rebooting my iPhone, tried "forgetting the network"...tried everything the front desk staff said to try. $1200 for 3 nights and I can't even access my work email on a regular basis. I was offered a $50 refund on my stay because of this. We'll see if that even shows up. The only way I'm even able to write this review at 1:45am as I lay here in bed, is because it miraculously connected for the moment I don't even care about the $50, I just need the Internet like I get at every hotel that I visit. I swear, it's just been one thing after another here. I cannot wait to get back home. As much as I want to like this GWL location I just don't. I'm really looking forward to visiting Kalahari in November when it opens. I'm so, so disappointed. At this price point I was expecting clean rooms at minimum. By the end of the first day (I'm still here, unfortunately) my feet were filthy. My sheets had dirt or sand on them. The "crafts" for kids, is crayons and a coloring page each time. Everything is so expensive here, that it reminds me of Vegas hotels. A single candy bar was 8.00. The buffet was actually pretty good but the restaurants are awful. Every attraction is designed so it is cost prohibitive unless you spend a ton on unlimited passes. I paid 24.00 to pay one fast round if laser tag with my 2 kids and myself. I called to ask for trash pickup and towels and ai said someone would be up "immediately." An hour later and no one came. I searched the internet for the front desk number (there is no lodge info at all in the rooms) and got voicemail so I left a message. Still waiting to see if they're going to come. Parking is somehow 20.00 a day. We have a handicap placard and there were very, very few handicap spots, we never got one and ended up having to park on the opposite end of the lodge every time, with an Autisic kiddo at risk elopement. The noise. Yes, it's for families. Kids are loud. But, who are these purely that are letting their kids run up and down the hall screaming every night. It's not just the kids, the adults are busy yelling at the kids to slow down. I've gotten so little sleep because it's so loud all the time. I will not be back. It cost my family of 6 far less to rent a 6 bed 4 bath oceanfront house in NC. Oh, and something I saw mentioned a lot- one of our adjoining rooms wasn't ready when we arrived. We arrived at about 4:15 and check in was at 4. It wasn't ready until 5. Not a huge deal for us if everything else had been cool, but it's just another thing in the list I saw mentioned a lot. It gets 2 stars instead of 1 because 1. The staff that I encountered was nice. 2. It's nice to find a place big enough for all of us. 3. The kids like the water park- it's a good size, but not big enough to justify the price. read more

Gotta say that this place rocks! Can't believe I waited all this time to come visit this amazing vacation getaway. Brought the mom, missus, and kids here on a Sunday and had such a blast! Even though check in for rooms is 4 pm, you can get to GWL early and use the water park! Score!!! A one night stay gives you two full days of water park fun!!! My son tried the Magiquest game, and also played laser tag. We dined off property, but there are plenty of options if you decide to eat at GWL. I've been driving past this for like 20 years and saying I want to stay. Well, now I have a daughter so we came to get away and try to do something easy and fun for the weekend. My daughter is 15-months old so she's not really old enough for this place, but, we thought it would be fun to let her see and people watch. The rooms are stale and in need of some update and TLC - the floors in our room were nasty and sticky and my daughter's feet were filthy... gross. Check-in was easy enough - they have staff standing around to assist and we must've arrived at the perfect time on a Friday before a huge rush bc we just walked right up and used a self check-in kiosk and were done in like 5 minutes. We stayed in a loft room on the 4th floor with a queen bed upstairs and two downstairs. We did this since my mom came with us to help so it was perfect. One of the TV remotes didn't work at all, for a water park hotel they didn't have any hooks in the bathroom for towels or suits which is weird... The hotel needs new furniture and carpet and drapes - it just smells musty and moldy. We all sneezed all weekend in the room - so that made me think it's def. moldy. Food is sub-par - pizza and burgers and fried chicken sandwiches. It's pretty pricey and not good options. All this and I did enjoy the water park - I thought that was well-done and we had fun with our daughter and the slides and all the various water areas. The staff there were all excellent so this pulled them up from probably 1.5 stars to 3 overall. If I go back, it'll likely be for a day-pass for the water park for my daughter. When I was a kid I'd always wonder about The Great Wolf Lodge driving past Williamsburg. Now 10 years later back in the 757 I finally got to experience it and it didn't disappoint! The place is beautiful inside and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We went on a weekday so it wasn't crowded at all. My child wasn't into the water park, but he loved the MagiQuest and arcade. I on the other hand enjoyed everything the slides, wave pool, magic quest and the arcades! *DAY VISIT REVIEW ONLY* Came here with the family for a day visit. We were able to get a nice seating around the pool. We enjoyed the park and water slides. We got food (chicken nuggets and soda) for the kids. The have a Dunkin' onsite to get your coffee and donuts. They have lockers for rent to secure your items. This is a huge place and although there were quite a few folks here, it never seemed packed or crowded. They have an arcade, Laser Trail game, Mining game and other for the kids. Our extended family did the day pass on 2/7/26, a group of 10. Entire building was bursting with over accommodations and reservations! They seemed to have over booked their amenities and it was obvious based on the way it felt like people were squeezed into almost everywhere you turned. We got the wolf pack pass $150 and couldn't even use the it because the wait times were over 1 hour and 30 for laser tag, bowling and the other stuff. We had to ask for a refund...we were told we would get it...it's 2/9/26 and we just called to ask and NOW they said the would actually take care of it. Not the best experience. Great Wolf Lodge needs a much better common area, especially when it comes to seating. If they offer day passes, plus check in as early as possible, then the corporation is undervaluing the guests' comfort from the very start wit the lack of seating for those checking in. Either way, it's not reasonable to make people stand around in organized. Next, the pool water smells extremely bad; cold pool water temperature is unexpected; and the locker rooms and restrooms are also over crowded. If you are exclusively serving the overnight guests, that's one thing, however, they allow day passes and that puts a strain on the system. Expand for the extra guests!!!!! Me, my mom, and my kids had a good time. It was our first time visiting a Great Wolf Lodge. We stayed for 2 nights. My teenagers and I were honestly underwhelmed with the tiny amount of water slides. There definitely was not enough to do for 2 days. We probably spent an hour and a half at the water park on the first day and less than 4 hours on our second day. We could have gone back on the day that we checked out but my kids were over it by then and were ready to leave. I will say that the rides they do have were a lot of fun! My kids did enjoy themselves a lot. My favorite thing was the wave pool. As with any resort, everything is very overpriced. We went to the surrounding stores and restaurants for food and anything else we needed. I also paid extra for the kids cabin just for my kids to squeeze into bed with me lol. Our family visited for my daughters 3rd birthday. We stayed for 2 nights, 3 days. Digital check in was not offered as it's advertised so we had to wait in line to check in. Our room was ready pretty quickly, which was a plus. The rooms definitely need some updating. They were nice enough, but definitely haven't been renovated/updated in quite some time. All the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. We opted to not get the meal plan due to so many options close by. We did try the breakfast buffet on our last day. It was pretty good! It was about $60 for two adults and a child (3yrs old). The water park was nice, but definitely needs some updates as well as far as capacity. I could definitely see it getting overcrowded during the warmer months. The changing room is super small and does not accommodate more than two or three families. We stayed one night and two days here bc my family live near by and we were really staying w them. My younger kids wanted to try the room that had a separate, tiny area w bunk beds and some other fun elements. I thought it was pretty pricy for being off season and a weeknight. We did the deal for one night and two days swimming. We did not eat on property, but opted to go to a local Chinese place that we had been wanting to try. They do have a lot of food and other fun stuff around the property, so really, if you never wanted to leave, you wouldn't have to. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and nice and warm the pool/swimming areas are. We went in late September and it was too cold outside, but really nice in the indoor area. My kids are very strong swimmers, but I saw a ton of kids there, smaller and bigger, who all seemed to be enjoying themselves regardless of their swim skill level. I do recommend this location bc we had a great time. As far as the hotel part- I wouldn't stay again myself, only bc I kept comparing the price to what I spend at places in the same price range, and I just thought the room price was too much for only 5 ppl. I just didn't see the value. The pool areas- like a day pass, I'd def recommend and be down for that again. My kids had a blast and I had a nice time reading and relaxing in the nice, warm seating areas provided by the pool stuff. This is my second Great Wolf, this one is an older one located near Williamsburg. My first was the brand new one located in Northern Maryland, in Perryville. The rooms were good, the service was hotel excellent. The water park was a little older and didn't have the tiki bar in the new style. But we did have a blast, enjoying the lazy river, my nephew loved the small kiddie pool and slides. This location charged daily for parking, which was surprising. They offered all of the amenities of the other Great Wolfs. I enjoyed staying at this location for the proximity to Colonial Williamsburg and Bush Gardens. 1. My little wolves got rid of their waterslide fear. 2. Amazing 5/5 experience at the hotel and waterpark. 3. Friendly, attentive staff. 4. Convenient & Accessible. 5. Great activities for kids and good food. My children were absolutely terrified of the waterslides. It took a bit of gentle convincing for a day or two, but they finally conquered their fears. I loved watching their confidence grow, which eventually turned into me turning down their attempts to go down the slides for the 555th time lol. Check-in was a breeze. Staff were very attentive. We purchased the breakfast package. The food on the buffet line as well as the omelette line were fresh as we walked through with our plates. Everything that you need is either here or near. The price may be a few dollars more but you cannot beat the convenience, especially if you drove a few hours and just want to relax. In close proximity, there is a Starbucks , Chic Fil-a, and a WalMart nearby if you choose to get those daily fixes. The activities are awesome. There's something to do almost all day and night. My kids LOVE Great Wolf Lodge, which is the only reason why we have been here a few times. It's not terrible, but it's not my favorite place on earth, either. The waterpark is immaculate, and there are plenty of lifeguards working at any given time. The indoor park's temperature is perfect, and the water is never too cold or too warm. And while it is always busy, there are enough chairs and options within the park to make it feel less crowded. We have never splurged on the themed rooms, but the basic rooms are fine. It's not a five-star hotel, but our room has always been clean and in good condition. The other attractions on site are overpriced. My kids have never had any interest in them, so I can't really comment on the quality or bang for your buck. The dining options are limited and ridiculously expensive. However, there are plenty of dining options at varying price points in Williamsburg. There's also a Wal-Mart up the street, so you can buy snacks and drinks before you check in. Because GWL caters to children, the place is crawling with loud kids. I recommend booking a room as far away as the MagiQuest game as possible. Otherwise, you'll have kids running past your room at all hours. Overall, my husband summed it up best: It's like a casino for kids. The water park is fine for little kids, but boring for kids over the age of 11 or so. This place is just trashy, It's way too crowded and the guests tend to be rude and inconsiderate in general. Maybe some type of screening process to ensure guests are protected by what they can control and not allow alien like organisms where they are subjected to potentially permanent or who knows what because they can't figure it out but I have to live with it. They will take anyone's money irregardless of what they are bringing in to your pools to share. There water quality is rated very good for known organisms. However when it comes to spreading filth from who knows where, protect your family and your children and yourself and RUN!!!!! Positives: breakfast was fabulous and most workers were friendly. Pool bar is fantastic! Adult hot tub is exceptional. Negatives: Cheap rooms at luxury cost. Rooms are on par with low budget brands. First floor while convenient to water park, is like a dungeon with little cell phone reception. Mattresses, sheets, pillows, and furnishings look/feel like they've been there since opening years ago. Shower faucet handle was broken off upon arrival and it took maintenance a while to fix it to shower before dinner. Once fixed it wasn't even flush to the wall and left a gap for critters to crawl through. Tub is dangerously slippery with no handles. Water park needs complete renovation. Zero entry pool is so rough you can't sit in shallow end. Walkways are slick and the little one slid and fell. Flow Rider is covered in mildew. Need more nutritious snacks/variety at snack bar. Ride weight scale inconsistency. Our party of 4 rode 4-person tube for an entire day but then the next day we had to be split up due to "weight". We do NOT weigh 700lbs!!!! Showers in family restroom had cold showers and prevented us from being able to shower before our trip home. Fun for one night of "roughing it" but wouldn't do it again. read more

Took a three day trip with the kids (3&4y/o) to GWL and boy we had no idea what to expect but we had a great time! We checked into the Lodge and immediately received our room, and it was spacious and large with high ceilings. We walked around the Lodge and saw the bowling alley, gift store, build a bear, arcade room, and magi quest store. There was a list of activities that the resort offered throughout the day in the lobby to include bingo, dancing, meeting the lodge characters, coloring pictures, and story time. We participated in all of it to get the true experience. Kids loved all of it! Now for the main attraction, the water park! It was way bigger than what I was expecting. There was like a tree house that shot a huge bucket of water down very ten minutes or so, and there were several sections that everybody can enjoy. There was a swimming pool, a wave pool, kiddie pool with slides. Lots of huge slides for older kids and adults, an area where you can surf/water board, water basketball, ropes course, two jacuzzis, and a lazy Suzan! It was so much fun for all of us. This is something that my kids will be able to grow with as well. They keep wanting to go back and I think I will make it a yearly thing for them! Had a fantastic time. The staff were super friendly checking in. This is such a cool place for families and is VERY kid centric. Expect to spend a few bucks here because the activities are geared toward getting kids excited to play. The free stuff include dance parties for kiddos, mini shows/plays and ear decorating sessions. But they also have laser tag, bowling, and an arcade which are pay to play. Although the prices are quite reasonable. We particularly loved magiquest and running around the resort completing quests. They're very interactive and fun. The waterpark itself was nice but a bit smaller than expected. It can get pretty crowded fast so getting in early to snag a chair or table is a must. There are a few slides, lazy river and 21+hot tubs and a outdoor area too. We spent a few hours in the waterpark and definitely were tired afterwards. The lodge was very clean. There was constant cleaning throughout the hotel. The room itself was very spacious and clean. Didn't have any issues but the walls are a bit thin so you can hear what's happening in the hallway. But they do have quiet hours, which were helpful. The only negative would be the food is pretty unspectacular and the staff are polite but relatively unhelpful. Although relatively inexpensive, I do NOT recommend the buffet at all. Even the pizza and burgers on site are bland. The fries were the only good thing. Save your money and order out, there are tons of good restaurants close by. read more

New parking fee $15/day (ie $30 for one night, 2 day stay) -- needs to go! This is just a way to raise rates! Be honest and put it in the cost! In what world would anyone not need to park? The animatronic clubhouse is gone now and in its place is a big, black curtain and an empty floor. The furniture around the fireplace still hasn't returned. These items added a really welcoming, homey feeling. Now it's a hollow space with echoes and the welcome is completely underwhelming. The seating in the back of lobby floors two, three, and four have been brought back, which is great for those of us with kids old enough to MagiQuest mostly on their own, but with adults nearby. Unfortunately, the dining tables at the back of lobby floor one have not yet returned. They were a great option for taking a break from the hot, humid water park and/or grabbing a bite to eat in the comfort of AC. We were happy to see the shower in our room (2023) has been updated and is in clean condition. However, the room was missing the coffee table/ottoman, luggage racks, and extra sheets and pillows for the pull out sofa. There was only one sheet and one pillow in the storage area. IMHO, there are a few pluses and minuses, but it's still a fun trip. Just be sure to use the rate calendar and look for stays where the cost is less than $200 for the night! read more

I never got the discount that I should have gotten and Great Wolf Lodge REFUSES to provide me with a receipt showing me that the discount was applied (because they never did). I explained to them their elevator was also broken and we had to get another wristband because ours did not work for the doors. You know what they said? We have no record of this. They have bigger issues. Get someone that can do their job, or update your system. This place is terrible. Everything about it and is a major rip off. Avoid this spot, and try another spot that actually has been renovated in the past 100 years. read more

Two thumbs up for the water slides! Woohoo! Good family fun! The rest gets 2 stars from me. For a 20 year old property, it feels pretty cheaply made and lazily maintained. The whole building is dark, dusty, and smelly. Avoid the public restrooms. I can't believe that the main stairs are in code. There's only one skinny up/down staircase from the main lobby to the entertainment floor. Like, it's the same width as the staircase in your house and all the people in the whole place have to use it. They really missed their chance to have a grand lodge staircase. Why?! There are two elevators, but those are busy with the stroller set. Our room had an intensely musty odor upon entering. The carpet was quite damp, especially by the balcony. Shower tub and walls were not freshly cleaned. Literal streaks of soap scum. Kid's den was okay, but what's the point when the TV and bathroom counter is right in front of it and there is no door? No TV watching for the parents...and forget the hanky panky! Magic quest: not my thing. Kid liked it, but I preferred people watching and reading while he ran around flicking his $30 plastic stick at led lights and disguised TV screens. Coooooool. Everything (except water slides) is designed to make the kids beg you to spend more money. There's NOTHING (again, besides water slides) to make me want to return. What's in it for the ones footing the bill?? Maybe that's the state of modern parenting: Adults hate being day in and day out responsible boundary setters so much they're willing to go somewhere and spend all the money just to have their kids not whine for one weekend because they're all blissed out on pure entertainment while the parent's credit card bleeds. Alternate take: Modern parents worship their kids and will sacrifice their own fun to make sure their kids have a good time. Or, maybe I'm just a curmudgeon (yes). I just wonder where the place is that has great watersides, nice accommodations and reasonably priced, somewhat healthy, and interesting food on site? Can't we all get a little something? If you want to spend a bundle on food and consume empty calorie after fat-laiden calorie, be sure to eat on site! I will say, we didn't indulge but the smells coming from the kitchen before dinner smelled good. The price tag before the auto gratuities was steep! We paid the same amount for fine dining 10 mins down the road. Much better. For the price tag, I think I prefer a Carnival cruise. It's the same crowd, just on land. read more

Staff is a mixed bag. The first person checked us in but couldn't be bothered to make eye contact and seemed to genuinely hate life. The second person was super accommodating and gave us a free upgrade when we complained about our room. The rooms are musty and outdated. We originally reserved a themed room and later ended up in a premium room and honestly there wasn't much of a difference. They both needed renovation and an air filter. Food is bland. It was late and we needed to eat so we ordered pizza; pepperoni and cheese. Both were very meh. So meh that they make Domino's, Pizza Hut, and Papa John's seem gourmet. My kids love pizza. Can devour an entire pie in an hour all by themselves and after one slice of pizza at GWL they were good and shockingly "too full" to eat more. The indoor water park was not my cup of tea. I couldn't stop thinking about all of the bacteria. The kids liked it though. read more

This is our second visit to a great wolf lodge , first visit was to Perryville. Fortunate for us each location is about equal drive so I decided to try this location out since we heard good things. The will say I prefer perryville md location more. We did have a good time here but I did upgrade to the room with the bunk beds and I just didn't really think it was worth it. The room when we entered smelled very musty and dark. I can definetly tell the staff cleans the rooms so I don't even think that that is why but idk maybe because the place is old? We had a more basic room in perryville and enjoyed that room more HOWEVER , this room did have a fridge and microwave which we liked . It also had a balcony which we used to dry our wet suits off since it was so humid out. I think most of the other amenities are similar , we did notice the mining gem station is much smaller than the other location. Pizza was good. Dunkin was good but I do think they need to improve the app ordering ( a lot of items aren't on the app that are on the kiosk) they only have 2 kiosks to order so at one point I had to say forget it due to people taking forever and just app order even though they didn't have what I exactly wanted ( an iced latte ). They should update the app to coordinate more of the actual Dunkin app. They did have a lot of events for kids which we enjoyed. We also got free wolf ears after check in . Waterpark was good but I think the kids area was a little boring and lacking compared to the other location. Staff were very nice in all areas. Overall we had a good time but I think we will stick to the Maryland location in the future. read more

Before I begin, let me start off by saying that this review is based solely upon my personal experiences and my personal experiences alone, so with that being said let's review!!... This is the second or third visit here, it is a wonderful place to enjoy and relax with your family and friends. My wife and I, along with our daughter and our grandson and granddaughter enjoyed our time here again. My wife had a conference here through her employer so we decided to make it a family affair for a few days!. I left off one star because I believe the lodge can use some upgrades, my wife told me I shouldn't compare it to what I accustomed to as far as rooms go but that is difficult for me to do!. The cabin feel is theme so I understand but, Let me tell you why I feel like that. 1. The lighting in the bathroom wasn't bright enough, and the tub had plaster that was not scraped off completely. 2. While we're on the subject of the bathroom, there is only one bathroom to share amongst 5 individuals, this kinds of reminds me of growing up as a kid in Brooklyn,NY apartments sharing one bathroom with your parents and other siblings, I didn't realize the inconvenience as a kid but now that I am an adult that bothers me! I need a minimum of 2 bathrooms if it is more than 2 individuals in the room, that is my personal preference! Well enough of my ranting, I would definitely stay here again because other than the two things I stated, we still managed to enjoy ourselves here. My kids did enjoy the water park but the hotel and customer service there are very poor. First off, I had issues with the app the day before our arrival. When I did the online check in, I clicked on the link to download the app and made a login with the reservation email, but the reservation didn't load into the email and it didn't recognize our reservation number. Plus, our arrival date was my son's birthday and I was interested in buying one of the birthday packages but had questions about it. So I tried the customer service number. Wow. What a waste of my time! I spent over 1.5 hours throughout the day trying to get through during 5 different tries. I couldn't get through. I finally figured out how to get through to the front desk. The first person who answered didn't seem to know much about these birthday packages. So I asked for the supervisor who had this attitude of I can just buy the expensive package and ask questions when I go to redeem it. So I said forget that, just help me add my reservation to the app. She told me I'd have to call central customer service for help. It told her I wouldn't do that because of my experience and she didn't say another word. She transferred me to another line that just kept ringing with no one answering. So I hung up. Very rude! So that was before my arrival. When I made the reservation, I asked for a rollaway bed and side rails. At check in I reminded them. They said they'd check and send them up. 4 hours later, after several attempts to call front desk, with no one answering, and 2 trips down to ask, we were still waiting! Keeping my young son up a couple hours late just waiting for them to bring it up! Very hard to get anything from the front desk. I asked several times during our stay for shower gel (out in the shower) and a hair dryer without any luck getting them. The hotel needs upgrades, for the price they're charging. Shower is kind of yucky. Room and hotel seemed old. There are a lot of activities for the kids but be prepared to pay a lot for all them. They have this Magi magic wand game throughout the hotel, which cost quite a bit to play but all the sites didn't work. My 12 yo was running around trying to finish the game but some of the sites weren't working, so he was not able to finish. Not so nice when you pay so much to play that! We did eat in the restaurant one night, and the food was good. There were some healthy choices, which was nice. This hotel is really for families with young children. I definitely do not suggest this as a quiet getaway for families with older children or adults. You'll be overrun by screaming kids. That being said, if you have young kids, and enjoy the wall to wall kids running around, It's a good environment. Just be worn to stay away from holiday weekends. The hotel was fully booked, and they just did not seem equipped to handle such a crowd. Also, the waterpark could use some upgrades too. I'm glad I didn't buy the birthday package. They advertise they decorate your room door and I saw the decoration. What a rip off. I've attached a photo of someone's door. Much better to bring some decorations yourself for your room. Much cheaper too. And there's a Harris Teeter 2 miles from the hotel that had great cakes! They sell a lot of expensive package add ons. Better to just pay as you go. You don't really save money buying their package add ons. read more

Worst hotel ever! It isn't clean, the service is bad, the people working here don't want to be here and the environment is not pleasant. Also I have never stayed in a hotel where having your room serviced is extra!!! It is so very expensive for what it is. Go and stay at a nice hotel and pay for the day pass or better yet go to a JW Marriott with a water park. This feels like a motel 8 but for 8 X the price!!! This review is for the day pass only! Did a surprise trip down for the day for my 11 year old stepdaughter and fiancé. Upon pulling up there is great appearance with the large statues and wonderful signs. Depending on the time of day parking can be a little tricky depending on if people are checking in or out and how many other people are arriving with day passes. I would recommend if your not from the area to go ahead and spend the night there. As our 3 water pass tickets were $270 dollars and for $100 more we not only could stay at the resort and indulge in all the other activities but can arrive early and while awaiting for your room to be available enjoy the waterpark and after you check out the last day you don't have to immediately leave so can still enjoy it so its double the fun. Now to the waterpark! The upon heading down to the lower level as soon as you enter there is one restaurant to your right and the bar on the left (YAY!) The day passes come with a free locker voucher so you will just go to the locker machine and inter the size (printed on the voucher) and the code at the bottom. Once you checkout it will give you the locker number. One set is as soon as you walk in near the restrooms and the other set its across the waterpark by the wave pool. The staff are very friendly and if they see you lost like we were will come ask how they may help which shows they are truly paying attention. Now they have 2 Jacuzzi's one for families and one for 21+ but they were small and always packed so we didn't use them. I am sure that is something to do first thing when they open or before closing (the waterpark is open on average from 9am-8pm) They have a kiddie area with its open slides and pool which allows some of the older kids to use the first playground area that has the huge dumping bucket. I like how the slides in this park had stoppers at the end of them so the kids cant go flying off at the bottom like in other waterparks. They also have a pool with basketball hoops and a lazy river (i truly wish this was bigger it was very small). Outside the wave pool we spent a lot of our time riding the thrilling slides and on the "wipeout". The kids here were also friendly and seem to always group together natural about 2 hours in my 11 year old had made a group of friends and they were riding rides together and hanging out in the pool. So were went to the bar and grabbed some drinks and was able to just sit back and watch the magic happen :) While I do love the bar and being about to walk around with drinks the prices are a little high (the usually for resorts) but also you keep every glass your drinks come in and get no discounts on refills. This just seems a little wasteful especially for the drinks that come in the class cups. Also be prepared it is 85 degrees inside the waterpark. There was a issue with a kid that pooped on one of the slides and then down the walking area and into one of the bathrooms. So the staff was quick to shut town the slide and the water to clean and sanitize every inch of it and the entire walk area and bathrooms. I wasn't on that side when it happened but did seem like they were taking it seriously. Overall, I would definitely come here again even during the summer time to try out the outdoor attractions. My only suggestion to the the resort would be to work with your bartenders and workers at the restaurant in the pool they didn't seemed pretty miserable and unhappy to see if something can be done to assist them. The food workers at the pizza place outside the waterpark werent the most helpful bunch especially when trying to figure out where to pick your pizza up at (which all the way down the hallway across from the arcade there is a little window where they call out names for the oders) they may want to think about signage read more

This could have been absolutely amazing and one person who worked at the ice cream store certainly did an amazing job! She was friendly and helpful! I wish the same could be said about the rest of the staff who worked with the children. We encountered several staff members who were not only unhelpful, but were rude! They treated us as though we were stupid and didn't listen to our questions instead talking over us and ignoring the questions. It was extremely unpleasant. They would have received 5 stars based on the young lady at the ice cream place however, we did not see her until our last day there. We will go back but I don't know that I will ignore poor behavior next time. They know this job is to work with children so they need to paint a smile on regardless of anything... We actually live 20 mins away, but decided to go here for a staycation. We brought our three year old and he had so much fun. The staff member who checked us in made me feel a little off. We booked a family suite with a king bed and he kept trying to deter me away from it and make me go into a room with two queen beds. And he stated my room was "so far away to everything". It wasn't, it was last the conference rooms, but I liked being away from everything. He didn't do a good job of explaining exactly where the room was either, just told me to download the app which doesn't help when finding rooms. So I actually had to go back to the front desk to find out where my room was. After we found it, the room was nice and very clean. There was a ton of space and the bed was comfy. They even have a texting service that can help you with anything 24/7, that made things very easy. There are so many activities for kids to do and it's all on the app. The waterpark is fun. We stayed Wednesday through Friday and you could def tell how busy it gets on the weekends. Wednesday and Thursday were perfect. read more

Leaving our first trip from Great Wolf Lodge and we had a great time! The staff have all been so friendly! I had low expectations for the food, but have been pretty impressed. We really enjoyed the pizza, burgers, and cheese curds (and the ranch dressing that it came with!). Our soft pretzel must have been out too long because it was hard. The breakfast buffet wasn't worth the price for our family, so I'll probably skip that the next time that we come. We had a Wolf Pass and loved the stuffed animal choices and bowling. The MagiQuest was just okay; it took a while for us to understand what to do and when we were close to finishing a quest, the sensor wouldn't read our wand. read more

This year my daughter wanted to celebrate her birthday at Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg. We booked everything online, which was very easy to navigate. I love that we got to enjoy the waterpark hours before check in and the full day of check out. They also had several activities throughout the day for the kids to enjoy. The check in and checkout process was very smooth and easy. We went on a Monday, and to our surprise it was BUSY! It slowed down later that day into Tuesday. I honestly would hate to see what summer looks like, because for a school day this place was busy. Also, a lot of parents were not watching their underage children; who were not friendly to other kids, disrespectful in front of adults, and cursing. Luckily my kids didn't have a problem with those interactions. The drawback here was the inconsistent customer service and the Buckets restaurant located in the waterpark. Buckets is overpriced food that is held in drawers and baskets. We received cold burgers that were taken out of a drawer and placed on a bun. The fries and onion rings were pre cooked and piled high in a basket. Nothing was made fresh and everything was cold for a grand total of over $60. When asked if our items could be made fresh the cook threw up his hands and shook his head. At that moment we decided a refund would be best, and opted to eat at Hungry As A Wolf instead. At Hungry As A Wolf the pizza was freshly made fairly priced and delicious. Despite our food dilemma and the inconsistent customer service this place could be worth the price, IF you can get a good deal. We were blessed to pay under $200 for a 2 day 1 night specialty room, for our family of five. More than that I would say skip it, because it's not worth more than that! read more

This is our second time. First time we just used the indoor water park for the day. About $100 a person for however long basically. We stayed 4 hours the kids loved it. This is the second time review- we slept the night and used the facilities in the am. Loved my room, older but clean and no funky smells and/or artificial febreze scents. Nothing weird. It was great. I highly recommended. First time the kiddos were 5.5 and 8 and had a blast and it seems as though it's the same this time. Other indoor facilities are bowling and laser tag and arcade. Jesus Christ this is the most ghetto, unprofessional 'resort' I've EVER encountered in my entire life. The staff is clueless & clearly incompetent of doing their actual job-which they are sadly getting paid for. It's dirty, LOUD AS H3LL & severely small for how they advertise & portray it to be. Not to mention WAY over priced for the little they actually do have to offer. If you'd like to stay at an 'adult frat house' while ungrateful, complaining, LAZY teenagers 'run' the joint-who do absolutely NOTHING to fix your concerns & issues-all while you just paid an obscene amount of money to consistently smell the POT the degenerate guest staying in the room directly beside you have smoked ALL WEEKEND long, soak into your 'suite' for your family to also smell or staying at a slum resort, with your entire family & children, then this is the place for you! Have ZERO expectations? Then they will not let you down! Book today, they have NO desire to meet your BASIC standards! I'm here currently for the next 3 days, it's 12:21 in the AM & it sounds like a freakin circus running back & forth outside of my door! Unfortunately, the lack of safety measures- and the customer service- was dangerous, dishonest and unacceptable and resulted in an injury that an employee lied about and threatened me over. Giant incident here: Our daughter (3 years old) went down the right kiddie slide (there's 2 back to back, see pic). Another kid (larger, stronger, much older) saw her wading across, purposely went right as my daughter was passing, and kicked her hard in the kneecap. Our daughter sustained a knee injury, cried out in pain, and I picked her up. (The other kid laughed, and the kid's parents couldn't care less. Go figure.) Note: The park --requires-- all parents to point out any dangerous activity (see their own sign, below). Having the common sense to understand it's important I remain calm in these situations (otherwise it gets turned around on you), I *calmly* got the lifeguard on duty's attention and asked him "Hey, that kid just purposely slid down and ran into my daughter's knee, she's hurt, don't you think that maybe you should talk to the parents and let them know for their kid to be more careful?" The lifeguard (see photo below)- rather than talking to the parents at all- *lied*, claimed "there's no life guard watching the slide, the slides are not watched! Do you need me to get a manager?" Threatening me with me being in trouble for simply pointing out dangerous actions. He also huffed up his chest and leaned towards me in a sketch way. So I said "Yes, a manager would probably be a good idea". The manager came over, and immediately after hearing what happened, agreed 100% with me and my wife. She pointed out that the employee had also lied about something else: The manager said that the lifeguard's job IS to watch that specific kiddie area with the 2 slides, and that if I had brought it up, the employee definitely should have talked to the parents. And also, the manager confirmed that the employee shouldn't have tried to scare me for pointing out unsafe behavior/injury, especially considering the park *requires* you to do it. They offered me a free room or money off, I said no. I pointed out the employee threatened a customer, (not just with his words but also body language, like guys do before a fight) and also that the employee had lied to my face, endangered my daughter, and that the employee is likely to endanger other children. So I said the only thing I want- for the good and safety of every child at that park- is for the employee to be terminated, asap. The manager was leaning towards retraining, but this isn't a training issue, it's a moral conduct issue. The employee admitted he wasn't watching the slides he was supposed to watch. He also lied and claimed no lifeguard is even watching them. He also threatened a customer. At this point, the park IMO doesn't seem safe for kids, because an employee of the park is doing all of this. Note: The manager was nice, and got our daughter an ice pack (for what it's worth), but ultimately if the employee stays then I can't recommend this park.
