We just got into the camping lifestyle (glamping)!!! We love this site and they are always very friendly. The pool is fun and at Halloween they go all out with activities! We had a lot that allowed us to face our friends that also bring their camper and it was a lot of fun just enjoying the outdoors! We can't wait to go back!!

    Scenic view at night

My family and I spent a week at this camp and let me tell you we had the time of our lives. Besides the limited space you have between the RVs, everything was lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly. The camp is surrounded by scenic views and with the activities they have everyday you can't get bored. The 3 pools were amazing as everyone loved the one with the slides. It was just overall an amazing experience. Come on down and check this place out, you will not regret it.

I really need to get back to reviewing campgrounds again! Stayed here for the 2nd time in the past few years and loved it. Really, their standards are some of the highest for RV camping or "glamping". No tents or pop-up campers (sorry guys!) Super sites (full hook up and cable....250 channels, what?!?) and super customer service, all with friendly southern hospitality. If you have kids, they will not be at a loss for things to do. The pool looked really fun! Parents too! Spend the day shopping in White Stone or looking for antiques in Irvington. Eat at one of the many get area restaurants.Take a sunset boat cruise from one of the many boat captains in the area or head to Windmill Point and sit on the beach and chill as you watch the water. Stay here and learn what it means to be on Northern Neck time. See you on the Rivah!

The views were incredible. There was a good amount of space at the site. The pool wasn't open when went but it looked fun.

The campground itself is well maintained and it has a great pool, fishing peers, small lake with a beach, dog park, and miniature golf/ice cream parlor attached. The amount of drunks driving around on golf carts blasting music, blaring music and profanity coming from campsites, unsupervised kids riding around on bikes and driving golf carts on the same road with these drunks is dangerous. I am sitting here, been up since 5 a.m., thinking about packing up and leaving once the wife and kids wake up. We had the honor of having drunks blasting music across from us at midnight. When I walked over and politely asked them if they could turn it down a little, it set the Redneck fury in full motion. My wife was threatened, I was threatened, the loudness continued, and no one from the campground would answer the after hours number or came by the area. Unless you enjoy Rebel flags flying everywhere and being around the most completely unruly crowds imaginable, I would probably stay away. Nothing ruins a vacation like the need to carry a weapon on you due to people threatening you while being belligerent and drunk. Day 2: I spoke to Security this morning. They said they were aware that they had major issues the night before, but unaware of how far things had gone. They stated that there is an officer at the park until 2 a.m. daily. They stated they would be going to sites in the early afternoon, once the people were awake and sober. They came by my site to speak to my wife about the guy who came over cussing and threatening us while I was dealing with the mob across from our site. Not sure what they did, but it is now 4 p.m. and this place is 100% different than last night. We actually took a nap outside in the zero gravity chairs to enjoy the cool breeze. We will see how the rest of the weekend goes before I change my rating. The rest of the stay: The rest of the stay was great with the occasional outburst from the idiots across from us, pretty much just a jab at me to try to piss me off. I will give them a 3 as the place is very well maintained and there is a lot of fun to be had for the family. I do disagree with them that they let the people stay. If a large group creates a hostile environment, disturbing many others, and then threaten a woman, and are allowed to stay? The security, while trying to keep the peace, are far more tolerant than they should be.

The campsites are clean and well-kept and are located right next to the beach. As a previous person noted, you must be affiliated with the DoD for access to the Dam Neck Annex - the Navy base the campground is located on. I have two critiques that prevent me from a five-star review. The first is that the campsites are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. We made our reservations in January for our August trip based on recommendations from friends and knowing the campground would fill up quickly. When we arrived on Tuesday afternoon at 2pm, after driving seven hours to get there, the only spots remaining were the two "shared" sites. Each was already half occupied by someone we didn't know. The space between the sites is no more than what you'd get in a parking lot (you share the same concrete pad). A reservation system that allowed you to reserve specific sites would fix this. The second critique is that there seems to be a lot of long-term campers. Not seasonal, but long term. These people have their RVs or travel trailers essentially parked in prime spots and they weren't there, at least during our visit. I get it it. If they pay, they get to stay. Perhaps, though, the number of those campers should be limited to allow families on vacation more opportunities to take advantage of the campground. Overall, though, it's a good campground. We may be back in the future. Knowing what I know now, though, we'll use a different strategy when we arrive.
