Went here to get a "tattoo removal". Very old equipment, don't remember them giving me goggles and I could smell my skin burning. Go to The Removery instead! Cheaper isn't worth it here. At the end of my first appt they also quickly talked me into putting a deposit down for the next appt and they wouldn't refund me just a few days later. Very disappointed. Update: They have now texted me personally after I posted my review. Very weird. I gave an honest review of my experience. At the new place I went, The Removery, they provided ice packs prior, aftercare packet with soap and moisturizer like Vaseline and went over a timeline with me. Worlds of difference. read more

Twisted Tattoo is an amazing shop with a great staff and talented artists. I won't be going anywhere else! The only issue I had today was that my artist, Mauricio, was repeatedly pulled away for consultations during my appointment. Each time he was called over, it took time away from my tattoo. Some consultations lasted around 20 minutes. With that happening about four times, it added up to roughly an hour of lost work time. That said, Mauricio handled it incredibly well. He multitasked effectively and still managed to get as much done as possible within the scheduled appointment. I'm excited to get it finished in the future! read more

He was so understanding that it was my first tattoo so he helped me by talking me through the whole process and making sure I was comfortable before he started. I visited this shop on a Friday the 13th walk-in special and was excited to get my septum piercing done. While the staff overall was friendly and respectful, I was very disappointed with the piercing itself. The piercing was placed very high in my septum at a crooked angle, which caused significant pain during the procedure. Six days later, I sought a professional opinion from a reputable piercing shop in my hometown. They confirmed my concerns: the piercing was improperly placed, going through excessive cartilage and much higher than it should have been. The piercer kindly removed it for me and advised I let it heal before trying again in the future. While I appreciate the friendliness of the staff, the technical quality of the work was subpar. I wouldn't recommend Alex for septum piercings based on this experience. read more

My friend sent in the artwork, we got a very reasonable quote and made appointments. I changed up my art, sent it in and they were very accommodating, quoting me the same price. My artist was Rudy Gatica and he was super nice and professional. He answered all my questions and I felt relaxed and at ease. I'm so very happy with my artwork! It's exactly what I was wanting. First of all, this place is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is really laid back and they make you feel very understood and listen to you with attentiveness, and every staff member is so nice and friendly. This is how a business should be run. There is even a nice lounge for the family and kids to hang out in while you're getting tatted. This is my third tattoo there. My first was with Manuel who was great! Went in today for two tattoos with Mauricio. I would give him an 11 out of 10. He was so patient, duplicated my ideas exactly, was very precise, and was really enjoyable to work with. He gave me the time to look everything over and was so thorough about every little detail. I literally cannot say enough about Twisted Tattoo and their staff. I went here for my first tattoo with my friend who is a seasoned veteran. We were treated well when it was the both of us, but then we found out that they no longer had time for both of us that day. Mine was a very small simple design, where my friends was more elaborate, so they bumped her. We found another parlor that could take her that day, but they had already taken a deposit for mine so I went in by myself. Despite waiting hours for the scheduled time and providing the image and sizing for the tattoo, they had nothing prepared. The artist "whipped something up" in two seconds that was extremely basic, three times the size I asked for, and unfinished. On top of that, despite my explaining that it was my first tattoo, that I was nervous, and that I had bad anxiety, he told me "you'll be fine", jumped in, and spent a total of maybe 20 minutes total (including drawing) on my tattoo. Then he proceeded to throw a bandage over it, give me no information on aftercare (even though I asked for it) and gave me just a quick glimpse of the final product so I didn't notice that he DIDN'T COMPLETE IT. Oh, and I was charged $100.00 After that I went and met up with my friend who was charged fairly, treated well, and involved in the process every step of the way. And I'm now looking for another artist to fix mine. read more

I found Twisted Tattoo for my husband last month since he wanted his nose pierced and he had a great experience so immediately, this was my new go-to for piercings. The front desk staff is so sweet and so pleasant and the walk-in/check-in process is super smooth. The studio is also well-decorated and they play great music. My review is unfortunately directed specifically towards the piercing itself, I believe was done by Alex. I got my tongue pierced a few days ago and noticed my healing process was more uncomfortable than the first time (I had it pierced 8+ years ago) I figured it was probably scar tissue or something given it was my 2nd time getting the same piercing however it was getting more and more bothersome and my gut just didn't feel right. I realized the placement on the backside/underneath was right next to the flap under my tongue, it was pierced at an angle going further back so the ball was digging into the gums of my bottom row of teeth which gave me a sore and made it raw and then I couldn't stick my tongue out without the bar getting caught between my tongue and bottom row of teeth because of the angle and how far back it was. There was also a cyst like lump I felt on and under my tongue on the left side of the piercing that was really setting it off for me. I ended up taking it out because the combination of this all was just too much even though I really wanted to give it a few more days. My sister in law got hers done at Absolute Tattoo the same day and had no problems, ideal placement, way less swelling/pain/discomfort and got it for $38 less than I did (excluding tip) Funny thing is that I thought Absolute Tattoo was sketchy because they didn't have as many Yelp reviews so I insisted on getting mine done here. I didn't want to go to the shop and be a Karen but I admit I'm pretty bummed that I took an $88 loss, went through the pain and drank only liquids for 4 days for nothing so if you're looking for a tongue piercing, I hope this can be helpful.
