Such a cute addition to Main Street Belmont! What's not to love about cookies and drinks? Twisted Sugar has a wide variety of cookies - sugar, chocolate chip, peanut butter, you name it (even gluten free), but then they mix it up with a variety of icings, sprinkles and drizzles to make unique creations. Their cookies are soft and chewy and come with a thick layer of icing (if you get an iced cookie). They even have special seasonal cookies. We went with a 4 pack to sample a variety, and were not disappointed. The peanut butter was a favorite. They also have mixed sodas - think soda shop - with all different syrups you can mix in. You can make your own or try one of their creations. They also have smoothies and bottled beverages. I went with the pina colada dole whip smoothie and it was heaven in a cup! How is it the first time I've visited this place, the cookie addict that I am?! This place offers drinks, cookies, and ice cream scoops you can add to your cookies for $2. I wasn't particularly interested in their drinks (although they have many) after reading that some have Monster in them, so I quickly and happily looked over their cookie menu. Their cookie menu has 3 tiers: everyday favorites, signature, and indulgent. I reigned myself in from purchasing one of each and went with an everyday favorite: chocolate chip, and a signature: sugardoodle. I was pleasantly surprised. The chocolate chip was a generous mound of warm dough littered throughout with milk chocolate chips. It was soft and gooey in every bite. Delicious. (Just waiting for a day someone decides on semisweet chocolate instead, fingers crossed!!) The sugardoodle was served cool and the cold dough was sweet and light and was quickly my favorite of the two. I will be back to try perhaps every flavor, because let's face it, the shop is cute, the area is superb, and the cookies were fantastic. After visiting Catawba Antique Mall, my family drove through downtown Belmont and I spotted the storefront for Twisted Sugar. Unfortunately, it was closed when we drove by, but we planned to come back another day when it was open to explore the area. The shop specializes in gourmet cookies and customized sodas. For the latter, that could be anything from adding cherry to Cola or turning another flavored soda into a cream soda, with other flavors. It's a cute place with a sort of retro vibe on the inside. All of their drinks are on the board overhead with a wide variety of combinations and options. Their cookies are displayed in the case by the register. We bought chocolate chip, a Key Lime, a Crinkle, a Grinch, and a Frosted Sugar cookies to enjoy while walking around Belmont. Staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about all of their offerings - they recommended we try the Key Lime one. The flavors were good, but my family concluded that we like a cookie that has crunchy/crispy edges and a soft center. Twisted Sugar makes their soft all around, and they kind of remind me of eating cookie dough from the bowl. (If you prefer the soft cookie, this is a great place for you.) Parking options are street parking or there is a small public lot near the store, on the side of the vet hospital. read more

On January 5, 2023 I went to Twisted Sugar located at 12210 Copper Way #218, Ballantyne, NC 28277. I asked about getting 48 cookies made with the logo of the company I work for (ARCO Design/Build) placed on them. I asked how much time was needed and I gave them a sticker with the logo and asked if that was enough to have them made. At that time I was informed that only 48 hours was needed and the sticker I provided was perfect for them to make the cookies. I instead, agreed to give them a week and would pick up on Thursday evening (January 12th) On January 10, 2023 I received a phone call from their sales representative stating she left me a message on January 5th that they in fact needed 2 weeks and the sticker was not enough and they needed a PDF or JPG image of the logo in order to process the order. I immediately emailed her a JPG and PNG (as we do not have a PDF). I called the rep later that night to be sure she received my email and she confirmed receipt of the email and said she would get back to me on whether or not they could place the order. I even offered them an extra day and said I was okay to pickup on Friday evening instead of Thursday. I've attached a copy of the text messages that came after starting with January 11th confirmation that the order would in fact be ready Friday evening for pickup (January 13th). When I didn't hear from them on Friday, I waited until at least noon on Saturday to see if I would hear from them to which I did not. I again text the sales rep and was informed they had a very large order on Friday and she would need to check if the logos even arrived. It was at that point that I informed her to cancel the order and issue a refund because I needed to include the cookies in goodie bags that we were handing out at our office holiday party and there simply wasn't enough time for me to get them all prepared since I was leaving at that moment to the venue. I have since sent a couple of emails (attached) to the sales rep asking about the refund and have been informed that the owner would need to process the refund from the system at the store and she did not have access to that system. I am reaching out to you now to see what else I can do to try and get my money back since the product that was promised to me was never produced? read more

These are way way better than crumbl cookies. I highly recommend. I bought 9 different flavors and they were all amazing.

I'm literally so mad I don't have one of these at home in Florida. Phenomenal cookies that can be made custom! They also have all kinds of fun customizations for drinks! Also... GLUTEN FREE sugar cookie! I haven't had one in forever and it was all I dreamed it would be. Not a ton of seating but it is a small spot. Cannot wait to go back next time I'm in town read more

This place is amazing! The cookies are absolutely decadent, you cannot get anywhere else in the area. We got a variety - from banana cream pie, to Nutella peanut butter to birthday cake... best cookies I've ever had. They also have different sodas and shakes which we will try next time we go! They just opened maybe a week ago, but so worth the trip and a great way to support a new local business! read more

Ordered the Samoa cookie and the chocolate chip cookie. The Samoa cookie tasted like sunscreen. Way too much coconut extract. The chocolate chip tasted like crappy grocery store cookies. Both cookies looked like raw cookie dough. The To Go container was a fry basket wrapped in cellophane tied with a bread twist tie. Terrible presentation!! Definitely will not order from this place again. Blech! read more

Just went to their new location in Ballantyne, and had the worst cookies of my life. One of them was mostly still raw cookie dough, wet on the outside and frozen on the inside. Not sure if that's the way it was meant to come, but the other cookie was baked and there was nothing on the menu indicating that some cookies were raw. Both were tasteless (though the icing was good) like they had forgotten to add flavor or salt to the dough. The raw one was inedible. Definitely not worth the $3.25 per cookie price tag. I've had way better cookies from cheap grocery store commercial bakeries. read more

We stopped in on our trip to Belmont. The peanut butter cookie was unlike any I've ever had. It was the best PB cookie. I brought it back to our hotel in Charlotte, and it has lasted multiple days. I want to go back before we leave. I don't care that's it's 20 miles away! read more

Theses cookies were on another level! They are so soft and flavorful with their toppings. Also try their fountain drink creations. You can get any soda and add flavorings. I love Diet Mountain Dew, and after being hesitant about trying flavors, the manager suggested adding some flavors of strawberries, cream, coconut, which made a regular Mtn Dew go up several yummy notches! This Review is for the Charlotte, NC location which I believe is owned by the same folks. I spotted the shop when leaving my dentist office of all places, LOL! We've had several flavor varieties which have all been amazing!! Love the fact that not only do they have several standard flavors but they offer 2 new flavors each month. Sadly they are only good for that month!! The customer service is also awesome!! Every time I've been there each person has been friendly and professional. Thank you for the awesome cookies!! This business was absolutely amazing! We arrived with our dog and my husband and I were going to take turns going in to select our cookies. Not necessary, they invited our Simon right in. The cookies are incredibly delicious, but even better were the owners. Just the sweetest, kindest people. We ordered a 1/2 dozen cookies which were as stated above, delicious. The atmosphere of the location was wonderful; the smell of the cookies was amazing. The variety of cookies, icings, sodas and smoothies is very creative. We ordered several different cookies but sadly the cookies were extremely cold as if they were in the refrigerator. In addition, the gluten free cookie was extremely grainy and not pleasant to taste. I wish the restaurant the best but we will not be future patrons. There is nothing better than a warm cookie so we were disappointed. The cookies were not room temperature but very cold. We'll continue to order from dessert stores that cook to order and provide warm, delicious cookies. read more
