We had been 3 hours into a 3,000 mile road trip (began in NYC) and started breaking down on the interstate. We pulled off the next exit and yelped the nearest auto repair shop (Midas). Despite being busy with many other cars, they were VERY kind to squeeze us in. Not only did they diagnose the issues quickly, but they fixed it promptly and for a reasonable price. They also showed us everything under the hood, all the bad parts, and explained why they needed to be replaced... which, for me, was wonderful because I generally don't understand cars. Rather than simply having to take their word for it, they physically showed us every bad part in comparison to a good part. Unfortunately, we live in NYC, but if we were nearby this would be our new place. THANK YOU to everyone here. During that visit, I was told additional repairs could cost up to $2,244.76, depending on further parts or services. I declined and requested that the original issue be properly repaired without additional charges, as that was the purpose of the initial service. I was later informed that no further repairs would be performed on my vehicle. I am requesting a proper repair or a full refund for the work that was paid for but not completed.
