I attended Coleman Country Day Camp every summer from ages 10-14 and I vividly remember having an…read moreabsolute blast and making a ton of great friends. I got a chance to visit them last summer when my family took my little cousin there for a day tour. I was blown away by how much they've grown both in sheer size of the property and all of the cool features they've built. Walking from the parking lot brought back so many memories. It's kind of wild how your brain can instantly bring you back to specific moments from over 20 years ago. The wildest thing that I saw they had built was their new American Ninja Warrior Course. It wasn't any rinky dink diy job either... it felt like I was on the set of the actual show! All of the staff members I met were outstanding young men and women. They were all professional, polite, and enthusiastic about their job. I remember my counselors back in the day having those same qualities and it's clear that Coleman really hires good people. I accredit my current skills in swimming and archery to the wonderful instructions that I received day in and day out when I went. Looking at the prices, they've certainly gone up since I was little but everything sure has. I'm sure if you ask my parents, they'd tell you that it was worth the cost because when the bus dropped me off in the evening each day, I was very happy but also completely exhausted. I would eat dinner, head to my room, and knock out immediately. Prior to my camp days, getting a kid like me to bed was darn near impossible. If you're looking for a phenomenal camp for your child, I'd give them a call to explore your options or to simply learn more.

Posting to inform parents considering Camp Coleman. I grew up going to Coleman and decided to…read moreenroll my two children this summer. At orientation, the camp owner saw my pre k child feeling nervous. My son hadn't even met his counselors before the camp owner decided it would be mandatory for me to hire a babysitter to babysit my son in order for him to attend camp. I calmly explained that my son can be shy especially in new surroundings. My suggestions for success for my child were completely dismissed and were met with smug comments and complete lack of empathy. It was shocking and disappointing to see Coleman heading in this direction. If you are considering Camp Coleman, I strongly advise going elsewhere, where ownership cares about your children and not just your check. What kind of camp is this!?

They are located on Newbridge Rd just before the on ramp to the SSP. Look quick or you can miss it. The front of the school is deceptive as it hides the large parcel of land and additional buildings that make up South Shore Country Day School and Camp. They have a ton of outdoor space with lots of beautiful trees for shade. They have 2 pools, sports fields, tennis court, playgrounds, vegetable gardens, rabbits, chicks, baby ducks and a full range of programs in music, arts, nature, sports, etc. Kids get a full day of activities and for the older kids attending camp there are also a ton of fun field trips. While the large amount of open space was the initial thing that set them apart from other camps and day schools, the staff of South Shore has blown me away with their friendliness, professionalism and enthusiasm for the kids! Within the first couple days it seemed like everyone knew my son by name and everyone was so welcoming to our whole family. I have 100% confidence that I am leaving my son with a staff of professionals who care and love him. Parents on my block have been sending their kids to South Shore for years and we are thrilled to be continuing the tradition. If you are looking for quality child care and/or camp in the Bellmore area then look no further. South Shore Country Day School and Camp will give your kids the time of their life!

The owner Tracey is the nicest most caring woman and so is all of the teachers and staff that work there. They have so much patience and they don't make me feel bad when my kid acts out, they instead take the time to explain to me what happened and try and come up with ways we can work together to solve any of her behavior issues... which at now 3 years old can be a lot. I am grateful we chose to send our daughter here because she is excelling in every subject and she truly enjoys going to school.

Still the same owners so let me tell you a few things that happened. 1) a young boy did not have a bathing suit one day so the owner told me to take another boy's and give it the the other child (I refused), the place was not regularly cleaned and had mice (although it was the old building, not current one) lastly, these people were crooks. They took advantage of me, a naive college girl by promising to pay me one salary but when I went to collect it, the money was slashed nearly in half. I went home and told my parents. My mom came down and demanded that she see the contract. Everything except the amount payable was in one ink, the salary and my check was in another (). They tried to con me. It was awful, but I learned lessons. These are facts.
