Drove up from LA to Santa Barbara for a day to celebrate my wife's birthday. Decided to play here because I actually enjoy par 3 golf and it's easier for my wife to play. Golfers know what they are getting into with golf courses like this, so no need to criticize the upkeep. The greens are fine, the tee boxes are fine. It's obviously not a country club. But it is definitely a really fun, challenging golf courses for beginners and advanced players as well. 2 holes where you have to hit over 2 fences guarding a water run off trench- really interesting. Then all of a sudden there's 1 regulation par 4, narrow drive. The driving range is excellent. I was surprised to see a chipping area as well. Great friendly staff on top of it. Whenever I am back there I will be back to play. read more

This place is super cool. Free tracer on the range with the toptracer app, and a nice quick little pitch and putt and one par 4 to bring out the big boy. The grass could be better but I will say that it has been improving a lot over the past few months, they seem to be putting more work in. If you have any trouble with your short game I challenge you to play here though until you break even. read more

Great range. Needed a maintenance range session on a trip here and this was perfect. Guy at the desk told me to download the top tracer app and it worked great, tracking a variety of metrics for my clubs very accurately. Good little chipping area too. Glad to have found this place. read more

My parents decided to do a surprise trip up to Santa Barbara this past weekend and that usually means a trip to the golf course with Dad! We headed to Twin Lakes golf course and decided to hangout on the driving range for the morning. We arrived around 7:30am on a Sunday which means hardly anyone was there! There was a lot of parking available, but as the morning went on the spots started to fill with cars. We spent the next hour hitting a large bucket of golf balls each and having a blast on the range. They have metal buckets you can try and make your golf balls into as well as targets throughout the course you can try and hit. It was $16 - $17 for a large bucket of golf balls which is pretty good for Santa Barbara prices! If you are looking for a fun driving range to try out, I would highly recommend checking out Twin Lakes. It was such a fun time and will be my go to place when my Dad drops by for a visit! read more

This was the worse we have ever played on, including in the desert. The greens were in horrible condition with mostly patches of dirt and dried grass. My local spot. The course is always in rough shape, tee boxes are usually in disrepair, hard to find even footing. The driving range is the best part by far, they always have grass and turf! Me and my friends took a roadtrip to Santa Barara and wanted to try out golfing. One of my friends recommended this golf course because they had a great experience here. As we approached to the front desk on 09/03/23 approx 3pm, the lady who helped us at the front desk delivered poor customer service. We told her that it was our first time golfing and we were not given any instructions as to how it works. While we were out on the field, we were approached by her approx 3 times, telling us that we have to keep the line moving and and we had to wait until the party in front of us leave before its our time to move forward. Overall, the experience could have been better. We did not complete get a chance to complete the overall total of 9 rounds since our mood was already ruined. This place has the worst Driving rates in town. For example: Twin Lakes - Small Bucket (35 balls) for $8 Glen Annie - Small Bucket (45 balls) for $6 Santa Barbara Golf Club - Small Bucket (70 balls) for $9 Furthermore, the course is not great and there would be no need to go there looking for quality. However, it is still fun to play. Beyond this, one thing I really dislike about this place is there hours. They advertise that the range stays open till 7:00 pm, during Winter, for example. However, they stop selling balls around 6pm. So just know that if you want to go to the range after-dark, you probably need to get there an hour before what they advertise online. That being said, it is nice that they do offer after-dark range hours. The only place in Santa Barbara to do so. Other than that, your money and time are definitely better spent elsewhere. read more

Great experience with good people. The instructor, Preston is a very dynamic person and gave a very comprehensive class. I signed up for their 20 classes for $159 and believe I will progress rapidly. Bonus, it's 2 minutes away. Great opportunity to learn golf and I'm very excited. Deciding to take the lessons was the best decision I could've ever made for myself it's good exercise mentally challenging and socially satisfying. It's been three months and I'm still taking lessons! I've really improved and enjoy golfing very much. Coach Preston really helped me get past being embarrassed and got me out playing with other students. I am so happy to be learning golf! read more

It's difficult to write this review as the condition of this course has almost left me without words. How a golf course can let its greens deteriorate to such a ridiculously bad condition is beyond me. What the heck happened? Who didn't do their job and why was it allowed? How can the course possibly charge golfers to play without letting them know what they are getting themselves into first? Worse golf experience I've ever had!! So I've played at Twin Lakes for many years and have enjoyed them all. Well, today, I decided to play a round with my brother in law. We were up next behind a man and his three small kids. So we are playing and the course is really starting to back up, because there were a lot of some kids out on the course. This man could not control his kids they were running around the course basically in the way of our game. We had to wait while two of them played around on the third green. We approached him respectfully at ask him to control his children and not interrupt our game. We finish the fourth head to the tie box on five, and I yell over to him to please control your kids. To avoid any kind of conflict. I called the Club House to have them come out and speak to him. A few minutes passed, and then I saw the guy coming towards us, I'm thinking he's coming to speak to us about the man and his three small kids. To my surprise, he jumps out his cart and proceeds to make the following statement to us, "I was giving a lesson and I heard yelling coming from over here, i DON'T ALLOW YELLING ON MY FOLF COURSE!". He didn't even ask what the issue was and wouldn't let me explain the situation. He didn't even go over to the man with the three small kids and say anything to him. Now I'm hot and just wanted to leave. This guy followed us back up to the Club House, like we were going to make a scene or something. We get a refund for the round and walk to the car. This guy really bugged me because we wanted to do was play a lil golf, so I walked back to the Club House to ask this guy one simple question and that question was, did he speak to the other guy because he was yelling also. His reply said all I needed to know about him, that he DID NOT speak to him. I hate playing the race card, but if it walks like a Duck and quacks like a Duck, it's a freakin Duck. I say this cause I'm Black, and my brother in law is Hispanic and the guy with the three small kids was white. I will never play there again. read more

This place has terrible customer service. I went on 9/3 around 3PM to try golf for the first time since my friend said her co-worker recommended this place. When I went there, the lady in the front desk was very disrespectful. First, she glared at us like we were annoying her and just said hi. Then she continued to stare and we told her how does it work, it's our first time and all that. She got annoyed when my friend asked a question about rental equipment and laughed sarcastically. Then when she handed us the stuff, she did not even give us instruction on how it works or where is court 1 or anything so we assumed we can go to whichever flag was open. She drove to us 3+ times and said we have to go in order and that if we can't swing 2-3 times then we have to leave to next game. The next game had people so how do we even move?? She gave us the instruction like the third time she drove to us. Why can't she give instruction in the first place?? I think she was either having a bad day or have something against Asians since she was only mean to us and gave us attitude. Overall the experience was horrible. She was not there when we went to pickup my ID back. If it was her, I would have complained that she needs to work on her attitude problems and better customer experience since she treated us like we were not a customer and a bother. Overall, she deserves a bad review and I will never come here again. read more

Had a good golf date here on Friday afternoon last month! It was actually the Friday before Easter. Tee time was for about 12:25pm. We got some warm-up swings in at the driving range before tee time. It's convenient that they have a range there also. We finished about 2:30p. We paid the extra fee for a cart but this course is actually small enough to wear you don't need a cart. The distance between holes is not bad at all and walking would be ok. I still enjoyed the cart experience tho lol. This is a 9-hole course and was perfect for us to practice on. Weather was great that day and the course is clean and well-kept. Great experience with my date! And I actually played pretty well. Oh I think we paid about $13 or $14 each for a round of golf and the cart rental fee was $12 I believe. read more

Thought I'd sneak in 9 holes this morning. Should have just gone to a driving range. This place is an embarrassment for the sport. 1. There might have been 2 holes with distance signs. Every other hole was "use your best guess." 2. There are no ball washers. 3. The fairways and roughs are, well, very rough. 4. The tee boxes are poorly maintained. On the positive, you are teeing off on the ground (no mats) and there are a few "fun" hazards. read more

This is a nice 9 hole golf course with a standard driving range. I like coming here for a no hassle, unpretentious time to try to improve my golf game (almost non existent haha). The 9 hole course is what you would expect. Not so well maintained but fun to play whenever you have an hour of free time. It's cheap as well. The driving range always has either grass or fake grass surfaces to hit off of. The putting range is multi tiered and has many holes to putt into. When I'm in Santa Barbara and only have time for 9 holes, this is my course of choice. I try to take advantage of the Early Bird Special- 7-9 am for $ 8.00- as frequently as possible. The greens and fairways are well maintained, but the bunkers can be a little "solid" at times. They also have a great driving range with both grass and mat options. A bucket of balls will run between $5.00 and $13.00 and range from quantities of 35 to 140. I say go for the gusto and smack the tar out of as many balls as possible. read more

This is a great little par 3 (almost) course, that I always have fun playing. I say almost because there is one par 4 which might be the toughest 330 yd par 4 that I have played. I practice and play twin lakes on a regular basis. Course conditions are inconsistent, sometimes the greens are fantastic and then sometimes I guess you get what you pay for which is why I give it 3 instead of 4 stars. Driving range is usually open after dark which is a big plus. Great place for beginners and still fun for scratch players. Give it a try. read more

Cannot beat 7 day a week early bird special $8-9 holes for par 28. I haven't priced other facilities but, I think $6 for a half hour on the chipping greens is a bit much but, it's fairly well maintained. No collar required. I really wish the practice putting green had some more slopes to it...it's large but, pretty flat which doesn't really prepare you for some of the greens on the course. read more
