Too expensive. Ridiculously expensive. Not worth it. Go to Olivas, much cheaper and a great chipping and putting practice areas.

This is one of the best parts of Carpinteria. Grass range, beautiful putting green with great undulation. Anything less than 5 stars wrong.

No frills - grass range. No turf!!! Pay per hour is kind of annoying but its really comparable with any range where you pay per bucket.

Prices are by the hour not by the bucket, so you can hit as many balls as you can in an hour - such a great deal!

    Birnam Wood Golf Club

My family lived in the Birnam Wood community for three years. We loved living here because of the…read moretennis courts, safe roads for running and walking our dog, the great community gym, golfing, and clubhouse restaurant. (Yay burger Night!) But, it is more of a retirement community and later, we ended up moving out. Probably the best time of the year to be at Birnam Wood is Easter. They have an awesome brunch, complete with an Easter egg hunt for little kids. But it's fun for non-kids too: my sisters and I really enjoyed the petting zoo and the food is amazing. I know that Birnam Wood may not be hosting their Easter Banquet this year because of COVID-19, which is so sad, but I'm sure that it will be back next year and the many years after.

I can't speak to the golf here, so this review is of the brunch food and service in the restaurant…read more The crunchy bread with the toasted Asiago cheese was really tasty--a nice start! The rest of the brunch menu was good, but nothing extra special (just the normal breakfast food). Although, I definitely appreciated that they had Cholula available to put on your eggs! The four stars is mainly because the service was just OK. It took more than 15 minutes to get our drinks after we ordered. When the food arrived some of it was missing. While that's not terrible and they remedied it right away, it did bring it down a notch because there wasn't that extra attention to detail. All that said the grounds were well kept and it has truly wonderful real estate. Worth a visit during a trip to Montecito!

We had a 2 PM tee time but arrived early to warm up, and right away the atmosphere stood out. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, which made a big difference as a newer golfer. Special shoutout to Jonny--he was bartending but also out golfing, and he took the time to give me helpful tips and even treated me to a coffee. That kind of genuine hospitality is rare and really elevated the experience. The course itself is beautiful. You get stunning Ojai valley views throughout, and the layout is both enjoyable and beginner-friendly while still being engaging. The grounds were clean and well-maintained overall. There are some areas with a running stream, which does attract a fair amount of bugs, but it's understandable given the natural setting. You can also tell they're actively investing in improvements--there was some visible construction, but it didn't take away from the experience. If anything, it shows they're working to make the course even better. Price-wise, it's a great value. It was about $20 cheaper than the Ojai Valley Inn course, which makes it a solid option without sacrificing quality. We ended up playing 9 holes since we had dinner reservations, but I easily could've stayed longer. There's also a restaurant on-site, which is a plus, though we opted for sushi elsewhere. Overall, this was an amazing first experience, and I can confidently say this might be my new favorite place to golf. I'll definitely be back. Thanks again, Jonny! AS ALWAYS THESE ARE MY OPINIONS.

Restaurant is also a great place to eat and drink. The most important fact to me is pace of play. And I don't like 5 1/2 hour rounds. No Marshall's. No cart girl. No bueno. I usually only play 16 holes and still 5 hours. When they fix these two issues it will be much better. I come to play golf not just to look at the topa topa mountains .
