A $5 movie program they have here where each week they spotlight a movie for limited run with one or two showings, a chance to see a hit movie before it leaves theater. I got lucky ! Great not to have to spend a fortune as you can at the movies. They also give you a coupon when you buy your ticket for a popcorn and drink combo at discount price. Everything is done by self check out for tickets, with a person there to tell you where your theater is. They have a lot of concessions here too. Bathrooms clean, and the theater was pretty empty for my show. They have all the newest movies here and imax available. Lots of parking, and easy to navigate. This was a nice break in my rainy day, I'll be sure to see what's on their Final Cut showings in future.

However, someone was sitting in my seat, in a packed theater and refused to move, unless I get a manager involved. The problem I have is the manager did not ask the person to leave the theater, after all that drama. Just asked the person to go to their original seat, which was front row, terrible seating, relative to my middle of theater seating. If a manager does not enforce assigned rules strictly, particularly for when a person refuses to get up, the manager is welcoming this to happen again. I am worried about this happening again. We made the trip to the location and requested to buy tickets for the advertised showing. The associate said, Im sorry, but we can not let anyone see this showing of the movie. We are required by contract to show the movies a certain amount of times, but do not have the theater for an audience. This seemed very shady so I called the manager. I was told the same information. The business is getting licensing to show movies and is falsely advertising these without showing them. These are my concerns with this experience. 1. False Advertising (Unfair Trade Practices) Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Act: Under Section 5 of the FTC Act, it is unlawful to engage in "unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce." Advertising a movie at a specific time but refusing to show it may be considered deceptive. State Consumer Protection Laws: Most states, including North Carolina, have laws against deceptive trade practices. For example, the North Carolina Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act (NCGS § 75-1.1) prohibits false advertising and other deceptive business practices. 2. Breach of Contract The cinema may be breaching contractual obligations with moviegoers by advertising showtimes and failing to deliver on them. This could be seen as a failure to perform as promised in the "offer" made by the advertisement. 3. Fraudulent Business Practices If the theater is intentionally advertising movies they never intend to show to attract foot traffic or benefit in other ways, this could amount to fraud. 4. Licensing Violations Film licensing agreements often include terms that require accurate advertising of showtimes and proper allocation of resources to honor them. Misusing the licensing to advertise but not actually show the movie could violate their agreement with the film distributor. 5. It's wonderful to see how this historic landmark building in downtown Elkin has been so beautifully preserved. The lobby of the old theater is the location of the cafe. You place your order at the bar and it's delivered to your table once it's ready. The lady working at the bar was very nice and helpful. Although the cafe was pretty busy we didn't have to wait long for our order to arrive. They offer a nice selection of sandwiches and sides. The soup of the day was pepperoni pizza soup...didn't give that one a try but it sounded intriguing. The bread used to make the sandwiches was better than most restaurants and the quality of the food was excellent. They have regular events with live performances each week inside the theater.
