I agree with everything Leah O. said in her review about Dr. Aimee Klapach, and indeed, Leah's review is a big part of what led me to Dr. Klapach. Some people might think it's strange to find a doctor on Yelp, but I trust my Yelpers!! Before I went to see Dr. Klapach, I had been seeing doctors at FairView University for the better part of last year. I wish I had gone to see Dr. Klapach right away. I doubt she would have made me wait 8 months and jump through numerous hoops before telling me that surgery was inevitable. I can't ever get those eight months back, but thanks to Dr. Klapach, I am slowly getting back my range of motion, and I believe my pain is already less than it was before surgery, most of the time. I just had the surgery in December (which went great, by the way! They do it in an orthopedic facility, not a hospital, so my Covid fears were lessened), so it has only been a short time, and recovery for rotator cuff surgery is notoriously slow. But Dr. Klapach and her assistant Bradley are with you every step of the way, going above and beyond, to the point where the surgeon will actually pick up a phone and call you. Yes, I just about fell on the floor the first time that happened. Dr. Klapach really cares, and so do her staff. I am also really happy with the physical therapists on site. They do a great job, and are available by phone or email if you have questions about the exercises. Side note: They have recently re-branded to Allina Orthopaedics, but they are still the same great clinic with the same caring staff.

Fact: "Expert" doesn't begin to describe Dr. Aimee Klapach, MD. She does 270 knee surgeries a year, a fact I kept repeating to myself when I was having anxiety spin-outs in the weeks before my ACL reconstruction surgery. That depth of experience matters when you're literally trusting someone with your limbs. Fact: She's a super conservative surgeon, bless her heart. She never tells me what I want to hear. She tells me what I need to hear. I don't want a risk-taking, skydiving bro giving me health advice. I want someone who's gonna tell me that "If it were my sister, I wouldn't do it" when I ask if I can fly to a wedding a few weeks after surgery because there's a small chance I could get DVT and die. She obviously didn't love disappointing me. But she takes her job seriously enough to be a firm advocate for my healing and my body, and at the end of the day that's what I need. Fact: Her work is excellent. I'm 9 weeks out from surgery and my knee is healing beautifully. I followed her directions and the result is that nothing has gone wrong: no infections, no mistakes, no risks, no mishaps. Just steady improvements day after day, which is all I can really ask for. Fact: She has an incredible team working with her. They called me the evening after my surgery to check in- which at the time felt like an incredible kindness- and when I have questions they always call me back within a few hours. Her scheduler was wonderful, and made sure we had everything we needed to prepare for surgery. I've always found it easy to book appointments, and Dr. Klapach goes to a variety of locations, making it easy to find a time and place that works with my schedule. I feel so lucky that I landed in her care, and can't recommend her enough.

I was in intense pain until this morning and wasn't very kind to the staff and yet still they were so kind and helpful to me. Doctor/Surgeon Pepin is professional, knowledgeable and really took time to thoroughly explain in great depth the nuances of my meniscus tear while reviewing my MRI. I was initially upset as I wasn't prescribed anything stronger than Tylenol and ALEVE for my immense pain, i woke up today (5 days after accident) and my knee still obviously hurts but it's definitely manageable with the Tylenol and ALEVE and using a cold compression every hour just as Dr.Pepin planned. I would advise patients in similar situations to simply adhere to Dr.Pepin (I don't know nor am I reviewing any other Doctor/surgeon at Summit Orthopedics) plan as he is a very knowledgeable and experienced professional. As Dr. Pepin explained to me the first few days (4 for me) will be the most painful (pre-op) and then the pain should somewhat subside before surgery which ended up being exactly occurred. Don't use Dr.Google when assessing your injury or the pain management plan case/patient is different and it will lead you down a rabbit hole, not mention it's disrespectful to the good Doctor. As Doctor Pepin explained to me the reason a more potent pain medication wasn't prescribed in my case (probably most patients with my type of injury) PRE-OPERATION is so that after my operation next Tuesday these narcotic type medications will have a much greater effect on the more intense pain that I, the patient will feel after surgery. This is a fact based on scientific research and is actually done with the best interest of you the patient in mind. *This review was completed PRE-OPERATION and a further review and assessment will be written after surgery.

In the metro nobody did ACL surgery, so Breien was elite. It was painful but considered impossible at the time. When I say he passed me to the baddest MFKER in the metro is a understatement. His skills is flawless, of course the instruments Summit uses is amazing. The first surgery was at Children's Hospital, so cruder tools. Then on the day of the procedure as my husband was being prepared, Dr. Choi came into the room and read a list of possible negative outcomes for the procedure. Learning of these risks at this point was too late to make an informed decision. As a result of the injection, my husband's abilities to walk, stand and balance declined rapidly. We returned to Summit in an attempt to understand why the injection was causing the damage and if the damage would stop. The decline in his functions was met with doubt and an offer of therapy that previously had been ineffective; leaving us feeling there were no possible remedies for his decline. Out of desperation, we consulted another hospital system. The physician there looked at my husband's MRI and: #1. diagnosed and clearly explained to us why the procedure was harming my husband's abilities; #2. Stated that the procedure should never have been done. At this writing, my husband's abilities have not made any recovery. The injection has devastated our quality of life.

Tech asked me questions about my injury and took my temperature. Recorded our conversation and said doc would be right in. The waiting rooms so clean! Baseboards and walls like new. Exam table, chairs, desk with stool and quiet . I waited about 20 minutes for him, Dr Wissink. Great smile, personable, listened to my story, let me know he was going to record it for accuracy, felt the painful area. Recommended steroids and muscle relaxer with follow up orders IF I needed it for MRI and Physical Therapy. They called in my meds to my pharmacy. His associate followed up with a copy of my visit report. What started out as a day in pain only took me about an hour plus the drive to get a great resolution to my issue. Just outstanding!!! The icing on the cake? My meds were ready at my pharmacy by the time I got there. I had no idea there was urgent care for orthopedics Northland Plaza main floor to the left by escalators. I had been there to third floor for rehab after shoulder surgery two years ago. Parking was ample at the 8100 building in the ramp or on the grounds. Instead by billing this as an office visit you are now out of network. When I inquired about why this was, they actually didn't care and reiterated they would bill my insurance as an office visit, even though my son was seen at an Urgent Care clinic. I will never use this facility again, even though I really liked the care we were given by the actual doctor. And I will also tell everyone NEVER to use this facility.

Great attention paid by the physicians and PAs, and a nice facility as well. Eventually I decided to get TKR in both knees so that I could put the pain and occasional mobility issues behind me. Through the use of their Excel program, everything was handled in one complete package from surgery to overnight recover to PT and all follow-ups. I am thrilled with the care and attention I received and the results were what I had hoped for.

I was told I had to pay 7 days in advance, the amount remaining of my deductible / out of pocket expense. I paid the $4000.00 that was required out of my HAS account on 06-01-2026. The problem is this payment was never relayed to Medica. So to Medica, I still had the full amount of remaining out of pocket to meet. I am getting Medica EOBs and bills where I owe payment even though my early payment for the hip surgery brought me to within $100 of my max out of pocket. I now have the challenge of tracking all my other bills, EOBs and payments and then somehow convey those to Medica and to TCO Excel to figure how to get a refund for payments beyond my max out of pocket total. Taxes may be an issue if it cannot be refunded back into my HAS account (HSA account is tax differed). This is very frustrating. If I could go back, I would not have paid the up front money or would have gone a different route for my hip replacement and not use TCO Excel. I have hand disk replacement in my back, the early surgery on my hip, and my wife had a hip replacement. No prepayment was required for those surgeries and billing was not as confusing or required effort on my part to track my payments.
