We love this place. The log cabin is wonderful. If you need to get away and commune with nature, this is the place. Service is great, Diane is wonderful to work with. Close to everything in the area. I won't stay anywhere else. read more

One word: WOW! We thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay in the log cabin at Twin Birch Resort. The screened in porch was our favorite. We sat outside every day and evening and even watched a storm roll through! The cabin and screened in porch were immaculate and comfortable. The owner also provided a notebook with local restaurants and attractions. The hospitality was impeccable. AND we all slept like babies. Every. Single. Night! There is not one negative thing I can think of about our stay. I would wholeheartedly recommend any of the cabins at Twin Birch Resort. Each cabin has a grill, picnic table, and row boat for use. read more

Lakefront cottages and log vacation home rentals. Two bedrooms include full size beds, pillows, mattress covers and blankets. Linens are not provided. One bath, modern 3/4 style bathroom with shower. Open kitchen and living room area with cable tv and dvd player. Kitchen fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffeepot, dishes, silverware and cooking utensils. Large screen porch. Overlooking 220 feet of scenic lakefront. Log vacation home rentals includes all the modern amenities including cable television in the family and master bedroom. You will find this and all the rentals clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Two bedroom with spacious master bedroom at the back of the house is 18 x 22 with queen bed and covered patio that faces the woods. Guest bedroom at the front of the house has one full size bed. One modern bathroom with full tub/shower and all the amenities. Kitchen fully equipped modern kitchen includes microwave and dishwasher and all dining and cooking utensils. A fishing dock with 14 foot alumacraft row boat and charcoal grill are included with cottage or vacation home rentals. A common campground firepit and horseshoe pit is a great gathering place for guests to relax and share the day's stories... A common area large sandbox and swing are great for children of all ages.

Since 1947, Twin Birch has been a destination for Families, Couples, Individuals and Groups.. It is one of the few remaining resorts in Northern Michigan still managed by multiple generations of family members. Conveniently located west of Traverse City Michigan in the Leelanau Pennisula, Twin Birch Resort features 350 feet of shoreline on Little Plate Lake. This natural 805 acre lake is located adjacent to Big Platte lake and is a short drive from the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Park which boasts some of the worlds most breathtaking views. Bald Eagles, Loons, Beaver, Otter, Swans, Lynx, Fox, Deer, and Porcupines are frequently seen among dozens of other wildlife species.

Coffee starts at 7:30, and breakfast is 8:30 -- 10:00. Our room also worked well --- we got a suite on the ground floor, and enjoyed having a small living room to stretch out in. I also got a quick tour of some of the other rooms --- some are mostly about the bed. Most of the rooms (including the suite) have their own bathrooms; a few of the smaller rooms share bathrooms, which usually works well for us but wasn't what we needed this trip. Innkeeper Katie (and her assistant/husband Jeff) are retiring and training their successor. Katie was quite friendly and helpful; I'll be sorry to see her go. For nights when we're not camping, Glen Arbor B&B will probably be our pick in the area.

Getting into the beach can be a bit painful with all those rocks just stabbing your feet. I absolutely had an incredible time here regardless. I highly recommend checking this place out if you ever have to chance!
