I have happily shopped there for years and I will never be back. They had an older woman employee who decided I wasn't worth even a hello. I bought a sweater for $178.00 which fuzzed so badly that it shed fuzz all around my turtleneck, the pillows on the sofa, the air around me.... When I tried to return it a very rude salesperson was completely unhelpful and refused to accept the sweater back. She wanted me to deal with the manufacturer, and how ridiculous is that? I didn't buy the sweater from the manufacturer, I bought it from the retailer. Avoid this store at all cost. Nordstroms sell the same items and they stand behind their merchandise. I don't know how Twigs can stay in business. Awful customer service! read more

I went to high school in Madison in the early '90s and to say it was a fashion wasteland is an understatement. I can still remember the excitement and anticipation that ripped through my circle of friends when we found out that The Gap was coming to town. Big doings in Mad-town! Twigs is a delight of a boutique--well-edited and filled with a collection that is diverse and interesting (e.g., girly Milly frocks and punky Rag & Bone leather jackets). My only lament is that it came after my high school years (and I have the Eddie Bauer corduroy button-down shirts to prove it). Now I make stop at Twigs whenever I go home; I can truly always find something I have to have--a great new pair of jeans suggested by one of the helpful sales associates, a tailored dress that makes the transition from work to happy hour(s) with ease, or even just a piece of bling. However, the best, best, BEST part of Twigs, especially since I now live in San Francisco, is that it has developed an online presence (www.shoptwigs.com) that is not only an identical representation of what they have in the store, but also comes with great customer service. Every item I've opened is adorably wrapped as a gift and comes with a handwritten note thanking me for my purchase--nice touch, no? Plus, I've had to return/exchange a few items and it has never been a problem. The outfit is small enough where your emails get responded to quickly and you know that when you call, you get a woman in Madison who tries to help; not some dude in India who just wants your customer service number. So while I wish Twigs would have been there to save me from some truly egregious outfits in years past, I'm gonna call that whole period "character building" and appreciate that Twigs, and its online cousin, are now in my life. read more

Great boutique on Monroe! They carry Tory Burch, Citizen of Humanity, Nanette Lepore, Leifsdottir, Splendid, Marc Jacobs and others. Visiting from CA, this was the first non-granola store I saw in Madison. I felt very at home. Prices are on par with most small boutique. They were having a Summer Sale and a few pieces caught my eye but nothing that screamed a great buy. Nice selection of jewelry. Would have been awesome if they carried Tory Burch flats and more bags. Overall cute store, I'm sure if I lived in Madison I'd be shopping here often. read more

I went here with my younger sister who was looking for a high-school dance dress. All of the clothing, garments, and jewelry is made by designers and very pricey (though i am not a clothing expert) I don't think we found any clothing for under 100$. I was particularly interested in their collection of metal bracelets, necklaces and earrings from a jeweler aparently from from NY called Wasabi? Twigs is a beautiful boutique located in the newly updated Hilldale shopping area. They not only have a great line of products (Rag and Bone, Vince, Tory Burch, Splendid, Marc Jacobs, etc.), but one of the best staff's in all of Madison. They have gone above and beyond to help me get the perfect gift time and time again. I went in again today and found a great deal on a shirt for my mother, with her birthday coming up. When I told the store associate that I was flying back to D.C. the next day, she took the time to wrap it in thicker wrapping paper and put a beautiful bow so that it was presentable as soon as I got off of the plane. Best place to buy gifts for a girlfriend, wife, or mom! They always know how to pick something great. Can't say enough good things about this store! I have yet to go in there and not leave with something great. 5-star rating is well deserved! read more

As someone who recently relocated to Madison from a larger city, I was excited to find a boutique carrying some of my favorite brands. The store looks great and they have a good selection; however, the staff are just kind of rude or indifferent. I hate having staff following me around to try and sell me things, but at twigs they never even greet to you or ask if you need help. Well, except when I wear something recognizably expensive, which is rude. I will come back because I like shopping local, but honestly the sales people at saks or another large brand are much warmer and more helpful. read more

I have been shopping at Twigs since they were located on Monroe Street. Their selection of merchandise has always been excellent! However, their service has always been lacking--but I went anyway because of the selection. I have noticed that their service has gotten even worse. I was in the store yesterday (January 6th). No one looked up or said hello (there were two women working). I went around the store and ended up with 8 items (still no one spoke to me). I tried the merchandise on and no one even came to see how I was doing. I wanted to buy two of the items so I came out of the dressing room and STILL no one said anything. So I left--without buying the two items. No one said good-by or thank you. I just can't go back into the store ever again. I have bought a lot of merchandise there over the years and the only one who ever paid attention to me is a small woman (maybe 50) with dark curly hair--I think she is part time & I am sorry I forgot her name. But yesterday was the straw that broke the camels back--I cannot return. read more

I live in Chicago, and there is some great stores out there. This place is top of the line, even with all the great stores that are in Chicago. They have a great selection and beautiful jewelry. I can not tell you how much I appreciated the customer service. The girl that assisted us (wish I knew her name) she knew fashion, she had platinum blond hair. She was very welcoming and gave us the customer service I expected for that price range. Not like one other store in Madison, that will remain nameless *couch* ...bop! When Twigs first opened on Monroe Street, I shopped at the boutique because of the beautiful and unique items offered. Last year I had a bad experience at the Twigs Hilldale Shopping Center store I believe was discriminatory. It only takes a couple of people to create a bad image for a business. One of the owners did call me and was kind as he tried to find a solution. When I was ready I did give the store a second chance and have had positive shopping experiences again. read more

Somewhere along the way, I developed a love for Me&Ro jewelry. It started with one special pendant necklace and has now grown into a collection. I was delighted when I found that twigs was carrying this line of jewelry. However, there was a particular design I wanted that they didn't have in the store. No problem. They placed a special order with the designer -- even adjusted the necklace length for me -- and before too long, I had the piece I wanted. No hassle, no fuss. Twigs is like an ex-wife. Sometimes she looks cute...but she's old news. Speaking of wives....Twigs clientele is more along the lines of a housewife married to a rich doctor. She dropped her kids off at the pool and headed on over to Twigs to pick up the latest and greatest Vera Bradley. Now, I'm into ladies of all shapes, sizes, and ages....but Vera be remindin' me of Grandma Gertrude Jackson's wallpaper in the crapper! YEs I happen to be a dude. I took my gf here while we were stopping in Madison for a hot minute to get our groove on. She's a sassy sista with top notch taste, and wasn't very impressed with Twigs. What do twigs have to do with hot threads anywho? Aren't they sticks, yo? Hey, them women who work there were pretty nice and all, but I could tell they weren't diggin' my gucci do-rag. Let's just say: if ever I find myself in Madison in the future, I would go into Twigs again... but only if I had to poop and didn't think I could make it to Michael's Frozen Custard in time. read more

AVOID TWIGS ATALL COSTS! You cannot return items! I was given store credit and then when I went back to use the store credit I was accused of wearing the dress I had returned. Which I had not. I was treated as no customer should be treated. This place is frightening! read more

Pretentious, overpriced, poor service. Very few items under $100. Brands such as Wasabi and Me & Ro, although pricey, have quality control issues. Salesclerks neglect to mention their store-credit only return policy. Skip Twigs and head to Stone's Throw next door. Or for jewelry, try Gatherings on Regent Street. read more

I live in CA so I only know Twigs from it's online presence: www.shoptwigs.com. I love Marc Jacobs bags, and am always looking for good price. Twigs has a nice selection of MJ bags, and they go on sale sometimes! I check the site frequently because it seems the sale bags go fast. Also, from time to time there are coupon codes that work too, with no brand restrictions, which means of course I can use them on an MJ. During the holiday season last year I got a Little Stam for 20% off, and I just got a Greenwich Paradise for 30% off I think it was. And there was a tote I wanted a while back but I did not move fast enough :( Nonetheless, shipping was free and the bags arrived impeccably packaged, with a handwritten thank you note. It is hard to impress when you're an online retailer but this place does. If I was ever in the area, I would visit the store for sure. read more

The employees were HORRIBLY rude. I was not greeted upon walking in and once I was acknowledged I was immediately told where the sale rack was (in a demeaning tone). I actually have a very well paying job, but apparently was not dressed appropriately enough for the staff to give me common courtesy.
