The presentation of the Cheesecakes are great but the taste is off. I can't figure out what it is, almost like a freezer burn taste. It over powers the cheesecake so much that you can't even tell one flavor from another. I spent $28 on two cheesecakes yesterday & didn't eat more than a bite of each one because of this reason.

I've been here a few times. The establishment in the mall is very clean and the staff is very friendly. The cheesecake is very good. My personal favorite is the cookies and cream. They package everything up very nicely. It's def worth a stop.

I found this place by walking in the mall. Great customer service and friendly chef. Their desserts are displayed in a case and beautiful assortment. It's really hard to choose from. I love the marble Cheesecake which is my favorite. I also had to try the pretzel, potato chip chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was an odd combination but taste really good. Great dessert spot!

Talk about amazing!!! These cheesecakes were so good I went back for a 2nd time in one day to take some home. I don't know how this place isn't known around the country. The prices are extremely reasonable and I would much rather have cheesecake from this place than from the restaurant that makes them in a factory...hint, hint . You gotta give this place a try if you like cheesecake. I had the raspberry something, can't remember the complete name. Also had the strawberry shortcake, got a cherry danish. My wife got a brownie, a rice crispy treat, and something else I can't remember. But they are all good. The slices are very generous in size and can be split between two people easily. Again, give this place a try if you're in the area.

I've been getting treats and desserts from simply vanilla since they first opened their doors at the Forest, VA location.

We have been in search of a bakery in the area that bakes unique homemade items and we finally…read morefound one! We had a small sampling of some things for our first test run. A snickerdoodle cookie and orange cranberry cookie, six macaroons, two of coconut cream, two of cotton candy and two of orange Creamsicle and a Hermann Bundt Cake. I hope I'm spelling that correctly. Ms. joy herself served me, we chatted about the shop and how she's been on not one but two TV programs. I got excited as soon as I heard this. Usually TV programs don't invest time unless the business is worth it so again I rushed home to try the sweet treats. My total was about $31. The shop was very cute and only had a small selection of things, which I don't mind as long as there good and they delivered. Both cookies with a great size, soft and so tasty. Great favors, I especially like the Orange cranberry, it was so flavorful. All three macaroons had great texture and flavor, the cotton candy was slightly hard but macaroons are hard to keep fresh so I'll give it a pass because the cream was exceptional. The Bundt cake was the last to try, and it had nuts and harvest tones, it was moist and she took the time to describe how she produces a rum butter sauce that she dips them in....it reminded me of Jamaican rum cake but sweeter. We will def be back to try more things!

She was a huge blessing as it was her first birthday away from home! Looking at Mrs. Joy's website, she is very creative and puts a lot of love in her treats! First of all, please let me apologize for the pics of the half-eaten Cookiewich. I am usually so…read moregood about taking the pre-eating pic for my review, but I sort of got...overly excited to dive in. Let me explain. We were eating dinner with the family at Mi Patron (across the parking lot) and my wife showed me a video of this Cookiewich thing at the food truck in the same parking lot. It being made, it being eaten, etc. I had to do it. I did. It was SOOOOO worth it, and was literally a Magical Ice Cream Experience. I just made up that term, but it works. I LOVED it, and almost stopped here again during my quick three-day trip to Lynchburg. I still regret NOT stopping by again, and sometimes have dreams about it while back in Colorado. But, that is neither here nor there. Anyway, you need to get yourself one of these awesomeness-in-an-ice-cream-treat things. In addition to the actual ice cream being awesome, they have the ring game (so you can entertain yourself while stuffing your face like I did), AND the value of what you pay and what you get is...sort of absurd in this day and age. It was $4.75, I believe and that is insane. Go and get it before they raise the price. I would have paid like $12 for that thing. I highly recommend making the dessert stop at this place when in the area, and see you there (no, seriously, the next time I am in Lynchburg, I am beelining it there)...
